Although I gotta admit, it makes more sense for the chase not to end in the toilets cuz its the final encounter with gorbatjov where you can die and it would make him more treathening.

I KNEW the game was a lot more of an abandoned ghost town than I felt like it should have been. Supposedly walking into a cult village why is there absolutely NOBODY about? Really bad change
@@theweeknd970_4 the game felt incomplete when i played to be honest. Even though it was scary, the only time I was truly terrified was the school scenes. Any other time was actually pretty manageable, these prepatch chases on the other hand makes it look like a new game entirely
It's bc is really incomplete, originally Marta and Sullivan would have more scenes and screen time (interestingly according to some documents and cut audio he and Marta were in a almost romantic relationship), Nick and Laird would have more character development together with more voice lines, Val originally was going to be killed by Marta, the Mines section were much larger in the beta and so on. Don't get me wrong, Outlast 2 is a really great game, but received a huge content cut in the final version.

It was so close to being in the final game. One of the devs said they didn't cut it because they were afraid of the controversy, but because they decided to keep it implied. I think people should flood red barrel's inbox with requests to put these back in for the nightmare and insane difficulties. Especially the chase at 5:22 and all the ones including the heretics. Keep in mind that these chases were eliminated mainly for the insane mode, which even without these chases is still a horrible challenge, what they asked to do is eliminate them from the insane mode and leave them in other difficulties, but since the insane mode is the Same as nightmare mode, it only changes what there are no saves.
That's because they keep listening to kids complaining how outlast games are a "chase simulator". Yeah well no shit, thats the whole point of the game. I do agree that these chases were difficult, but some people including me liked the challenge and it was unfair from them to strip it away from us. The solution to keep everyone happy is to return these chases but keep them only for Nightmare and Insane modes
@@zorgapb4691 I was surprised they didn't do that when patching the game first off. I tried Nightmare & Insane but the chases remained removed I was so bummed by it. It would have made logical sense.
I completed the game when it got released, think it was late april 2017. Actually much harder than the first one. Sad they deleted some chases! April 2017 was the real Outlast 2 experience

I just replayed recently and was thinking at a number of these moments, such as the first one and the one in the mill with Heretics, that there probably should've been a chase in these sections. But I don't have an issue with some downtime in the game, it depends on how of that would've remained with these chases still in.
It’s bc these chases basically have to be run perfectly. I’ve platinumed the game after the patch but to get a perfect run taken away an hour in for the sake of a 1 second slip up is draconian.
@@Budd631I feel like they should have slowed the speed of enemies in this chase instead. That would have worked better imo especially at murder before suicide second demon chase cuz demon is always 5 feet behind you minimum in that part

In the cut part where U have to hide in the grass from Nick and Laird, the gate where Nick says out of my way was opened in the initial release. In the restored version it is closed. Could this be fixed?
Tbh, Outlast 2 had way too many chase sequences. So much so that the novelty of it wore off for me. It didn't feel nearly as thrilling for me anymore because every 5 minutes there was an enemy chasing my arse. So I am kind of glad they reduced the amount of it.
Yea the climbing the tree part with nick and laird is based on pure luck. Sometimes you can make it up but 99% of the time they shoot me right away. The gate is locked so they gltich on it then instantly kill you after you climb the tree. Is it fixable or which part of the code is to at so I can remove it because it’s soo annoying
