Toy Story - #01 - That Old Army Game

- Anyone remember this old game for Sega Genesis/Megadrive? It was one of my favourite games and I played it through multiple times some 8 years ago.
It's Andy's birthday today and the toys need to find out if Andy gets any new toys.

They just don't make movie based games like they used to. This is easily one of the greatest games of the Genesis' life cycle.
true, im 16, remember that shit from school, i just to play that on the school computer, we'd be like 6 or 7 at a time. great memories

Oh my, this brings me back to my childhood. I loved this game! The graphics are still pretty good to this day.

I remember playing three Toy Story games: this one, Toy Story 2 and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command all on PC.

Awesome game, the background music in the level where Woody fights buzz is awesome.
Also, I could never get pass the RC race car level. That damn car was hard to control.
This is the only game that I remember my oldest sister playing alot when we were younger. She was so good at this game that she played it non stop for about a week until she beat it then she never played another video game. Ever. She's now married, owns two houses, and has a great job all thanks to Toy Story.
My own Sega Megadrive 2 broke down 7-8 years ago. It was one of the saddest days.
I kept pressing the Power button a few hundred times, and once it did actually turn on, but I was so used to pressing the button that I shut it off again.
Oh man, I remember this. My brother had it for PC and I had it for Genesis, and we loved it even though we sucked at it. I remember, we always thought that level on the back of the box where you ride the dinosaur was mythical until my brother finally got there...
Ahhh, this game. It brings back memories. I always played this as a kid before I lost the cartridge :( Its a great game.

I miss this so much. It's been years. I had this game with "Sega Mega Drive" which i guess doesn't exist anymore. PS and XBOX have taken over

I used to play this when I was 4-5 Years old on a Sony Vaio that we got from circuit city in 2000 =] Great times!

I always thought this was one of the easiest possible Sega Genesis games to play and finish. When I was a kid I always played either this, Streets of Rage or Cool Spot when I wanted to actually finish a game, since those three were the only ones I knew I could beat any day. Everything else on Sega was always too difficult, like for example Dick Tracy, Revenge of Shinobi, Comix Zone or Mickey Mania.

i remember playing that game when i was like 6 years old. i never really had the knowledge of saving or doing things like that i just played it and played it even if it was the same level but one part that i hated was in the vents (or what i recall them to be from memory) and woodie searching in the vents from the first person perspective saying hello? anyone there? over and over and the ,motion would make me sick. but i still liked the game even if i have bad memory of it :)

My Mega Drive died years ago. I didn't play it for 6 months, then one day I remember I had it, inserted Rings of Power and... no light. I kept pressing the power button probably hundreds of times and even got it on, but I accidentally turned it off again immediately.
I think my childhood died then, too.

All the toys were posterized in the video game. "Posterized" is a technology effect used on the characters' motions.

The music has a nice retro feel, but I'll always be partial to the remixes made for the PC version I grew up on.
I played this game so much in my childhood. ahhh.. Sega genesis was my first console I had. played this game and sonic 2 so much!!!!! also after this nintendo 64 with smash brothers, mario kart and goldeneye..... best era of gaming in my opinion. but I say sort of the same thing about power rangers and transformers.... that shit was awesome... nostalgia for the win!!

You've confused Telltale Games with Traveler's Tales. Telltale developed The Walking Dead, Sam and Max, Back to the Future, and others. Recently, Traveler's Tales has most prominently developed the LEGO titles (Star Wars, Harry Potter, Batman).

i had this game on my gameboy pocket when i was about 7. it was in black and white on a tiny screen and i had absolutely no idea what i was doing. but i swear i played level 1 a hundred times :)

Download an emulator called Kega Fusion (commonly just Fusion) and then download the Toy Story rom. Neverending fun!

I remember playing this, but I thought it was on PlayStation because McDonalds' had this in their play area.
i had a cousin who is easily 6 years older than me come over when i was maybe 6, and get to level two. I was astounded because I thought it only had one level.
