    Three things:
    1. Roads and transport infrastructure has to be vastly improved. This also includes proper pedestrian sidewalks, road crossings and other needs.
    2. Decent Accommodations for low income people has to be increased quite a lot. Land has to be efficiently utilized to house low income/poor people in towers with minimum but good facilities.
    3. Cleanliness must be improved quite a bit with modern machinery and modern disposal processes. This also includes not allowing graffiti, bad advertising billboards, too many sidewalk store etc.
    Kolkata has a long ways to go to catch up with Tier 1 Indian cities.

      Whats your definition of tier 1 city ? Coz if its bangalore, then everything you write here is Grade A Bullshit. Bangalore's Road and traffic infra is miles behind that of Kolkata. I don't know about Delhi or Bombay, they may be better.

    • @backpropagation8365
      @backpropagation8365 Před 3 lety +1

      @@retabratachatterjee6310 Tier 1 cities are the richer cities of India with a high per capita income. These are NCR, Mumbai UA, Pune UA, Bangalore UA, Hyderabad UA. These are also the places that get highest FDI in real estate and most exposed to global businesses. Tier 2 are places like Ahmedabad UA, Chennai UA, Kolkata UA, Surat UA, Cochin UA, Lucknow UA etc which are decent by Indian standards but lag behind Tier 1 cities in terms of wealth, global exposure, job opportunities etc. Of this Kolkata UA is going to fall even further - most likely to tier 3 - as the gap between economically vibrant cities like Chennai UA and Surat UA are fast becoming much higher than Kolkata’s. Cities are never stagnant. For example, Varanasi’s infrastructure has grown tremendously. And no, Kolkata’s infrastructure like urban transportation systems , Grade A office space, hospitality and trade venues, water and sewage systems, overall purchasing power are miles behind Tier 1 cities. In fact, West Bengal is the worst when it comes to water and sanitation infrastructure in the country.

      @@backpropagation8365 actually kolkata is a tier 1 city dude it's nominal gdp 180 billion usd is higher than chennai plus our per capita income is around 7000 usd so stop giving false info idiot

    • @backpropagation8365
      @backpropagation8365 Před 3 lety +1

      @@Wanboy Kolkata is NOT a tier 1 city. Kolkata is not even in top 20 for business momentum and growth. Sorry. Kolkata has no jobs and the exodus of young people out of Kolkata to other cities is well documented. There are no reliable measurements of city level GDP in India, only state level. So never quote that nonsense. The top 5 cities in India for growth and momentum are Hyderabad, Bangalore, Surat, Chennai, Pune. Mumbai and Delhi are between 15-20. So these are the top cities. Kolkata is a dead city which has not grown at all. And has become a tier 2 city unfortunately. No amount of patriotic BS will change that fact, unfortunately.
