What's your favorite song from TTPD?
the alchemy is so good
My boy only breaks his favorite toys definitely!
but daddy I love him is so fun and different :D
I look in people's window...:)
How did it end
Iâm so glad the the prophecy is in your top 5. Itâs not vey high on most peopleâs ranking, but itâs so incredible
i currently have it on repeat basically i have from the prophecy to the bolter on repeat
Itâs my favorite from either album- so good
that's interesting, in my friend group that seems to be everyones faveđ definitely in my top 5!
I think most people on ticktoc arenât going as in depth as Relly which is sad because there are hidden gems like the prophecy
I have massive respect for him
I've been having to listen to it at least once a day it's definitely my number one song off the album
the way i SCREAMED with the tortured runners department joke, loved it
hahaha great!
This whole album is definitely a grower.
The more I listen it the more I love it.
Definitely. I liked a few songs on my first listen but I did get the criticism that some of it sounded the same. As time has passed, a new song or two has grown on me every few days. âBut Daddy I Love Himâ and âChloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcusâ are my most recent growers.
@@Rachels7777 The bolter has crept its way up to my #2 spot.
I have to admit, although it took a few listens to get me to this point, TTPD had gone up to being my favourite album of hers đ it scratches a specific itch in my brain as an English major. I love all the literary allusions and references, and the chill vibes are definitely more my thing than the bubblegum pop or more upbeat songs đ
I also wanna say that I love that you went into the deep dives to understand how people are interpreting the song!!! That's such commitment for a non-swiftie and I love hearing your thoughts (even if you don't end up liking the album that much) because I know you actually made the effort to listen and appreciate the lyrics đđŒ
Anyway, my top songs in no particular order...
Down Bad, Guilty As Sin, The Black Dog, Who's Afraid of Little Old Me, and The Prophecy
Omg, guilty as sin is so underrated, it's my favourite.
My top 4 are that, fresh out the slammer, fortnight, and I look in people's windows.
Also same, i re listened many times, as my first time was quite rushed and not enjoyable
Honorable mention: Cassandra, Chloe or sam or sophia or marcus
@bunez69x all of those picks are amazing đ
@@patriciacharis9383 thank you. I love yours too â„
Love it! Yeah in my other videos (not sure if you watched those) I basically shared/reiterated that taking a deeper dive into understanding an artist's reason for creating a song makes you appreciate it more. I guess I said that in this video too, but I tried to remain as subjective as possible. Since uploading this video the album has definitely grown on me since the first couple of days that I listened to it.
@RellyMoorer oh yes I remember seeing the video where you mentioned that!! And it's especially true with artists like Taylor who are so autobiographical in their songwriting and like to make a lot of references and allusions (Taylor sometimes also samples her own previous work to make connections as well - like the beginning of So Long London after the bell chimes, which sounds like the beginning of Call It What You Want from Rep which was about the beginning of her and Joe's relationship đ„Č)
i LOVE that there are 31 songs! the more the better imo lol there's just so many different stories to relate to, and i seriously don't think a single song on this album is a skip.
these videos are excellent!
the complaints i've seen in general about the album length are so surprising to me considering Red TV has 30 songs on it and no one really cared (but to be fair most average people probably weren't listening to it in its entirety anyways.....)
i think casual listeners use "swiftie" when they think it means "a fan of taylor swift's music" but i think this album really is only going to fully resonate with people who specifically love the genre that is âšTaylor Swiftâš
if your favorite songs from her are her top hits like Love Story, Blank Space, and 22-then this album is not for you
but if I'd Lie and Permanent Marker went triple platinum in your bedroom and you can recognize any of her songs within the first 3 seconds of them playing then this album is her magnum opus
Perfect comment lol. At the end of the day you see who actually listened to the album vs who listened to it once and thatâs it
I agree to disagree, I personally love all the popular songs, which is why they're popular... and TTPD is my favourite :)
I agree! Itâs an album for the lore loving swifties that have been a fan for years.
Mad respect for the dedication you put toward giving TTPD a fair chance. I almost died when you mentioned that you were running to the album ..like Ohh Noooo đ. Thanks for your honest input, your sincerity really shines through. My favorite is The Albatross (Iâm an outlier, I know). This album has a lot of love from a lot of people, I think it is her best work but it isnât for everyone and that is okay.
THE ALBATROSS IS SO GOOD đđ»âŹïž
Me too đ„čđ„čđ„č
First of all: I think itâs a bad idea to force yourself to listen to something when you are growing tired of it and would rather listen to something else. That mindset/mood would poison the well, so to speak. (Memories are strongly associated with emotions. You would be building the wrong emotional connections into your memories of this music.) Hopefully the damage in this case is not permanent and you can still find growers among the TTDP songs.
Two camps have arisen around this album:
(1) âThe songs all sound the sameâ and/or âThis album is just more of the same old stuff. She is not pushing her boundaries.â
(2) âWow! This sounds like practically a whole new genre!â
You seem to be in the first camp, and I am in the second. For me, TTPD is my fave album of all time. From my perspective, people in the first camp are like ETs visiting Earth and saying âAll these humans look the same. How do they tell each other apart?â Somehow their brains are hyper-fixated on certain obvious similarities and, thus, are blind to the fairly obvious and important differences. To me, the elements that sound similar to her previous work - or that sound similar from one song to another on the album - are elements that I love about TS songs. The similarities within the album sound, to me, like sonic cohesion - a quality that is generally celebrated and contributes to AOTY considerations at the Grammys but, for some reason, this album is getting attacked for it.
As for the album being too long:
Billboard is doing a poll where you vote for your favorite TTPD song. (As of today, you can still vote.) I find it interesting that all 31 songs have some votes. That seems like a sign of a great album. Every song is someoneâs favorite. Nobody is forced to listen to all 31 songs in one sitting.
Whatâs Your Favorite Track From Taylor Swiftâs âThe Tortured Poets Department?â Vote!
www.billboard.com/music/music-news/taylor-swift-the-tortured-poets-department-poll-1235662683/
Obviously (I hope), Iâm not accusing you of anything bad. Iâm simply trying to highlight the contrasts between our subjective experiences and Iâm offering my own reactions to your reactions. Thank you for taking on this project. I think even the ETs would clearly see that you are an amazing human being.
The man has critiqued her other work so I'm sure he's aware of Taylor's moody style by now. And he also chose the most poppy upbeat synth tracks during the run so I'm not sure how this point makes sense? However I respect your opinion all the same . . . Just feels like your policing him on how to feel
Sheesh....Naw I don't feel any specific accusations. I'm not in either camp honestly. I tried to remain as subjective as possible and understand that ultimately this is just my opinion. Sure I thought it sounded the same for a while, but that was on my first couple of listens and surface level attentiveness. It's different now as it's been a week since I stopped recording this video.
The growing tired of listening to it was more of a FOMO from everything else lol. No damaging emotional connections because I've made 2 other videos where I listened to all of her albums and watched all of her music videos. The first camp would be an average listener IMO lol. I agree with you on a lot of this though, there are elements that remind me of her previous work like But daddy I love him and So high School. I personally would put myself between an average listener and a swiftie (leaning more towards swiftie because I appreciate her music and most average listeners don't and they'll attack her like you mentioned)
I also think that a lot of people felt pressured to hurry up and binge listen the entire thing which may have led to complaints of the new song. I even know people that I know aren't fans of her and listened to the albums (why? no idea lol)
Overall, she's Taylor Swift and like anyone with her status, she's gonna get some hate and it'll seem louder than anything else
Thanks for this comment though. I think I addressed everything
Not that I complain that there are too many songs but I think the second album would have gotten a lot more love if it was released few months after like with evermore :)
@ivy23173 I do love Anthology myself, but I definitely agree! It deserved its chance to shine but as is itâll probably be forgotten by people who arenât diehard fans.
I love this reaction and appreciate you being honest
I am a swiftie and I think that this album is for those who are into poetry and literature in general, the others just will not get it and that's okay. I think it might be hard for some people to distinguish between some songs if you don't analyse stuff that much. And I feel like also knowing Taylor's whole catalogue very well really helps me to differentiate the songs, so if you're not exactly a swiftie and don't know the way she writes, her different habits when making songs etc, I absolutely get it. For me personally, 31 songs is and is not a lot. Of course, it is a lot, but for me, not in a bad way. I really think that all the songs are worthy of the album and I am glad she shared all of them with us. It is a lot in a way that it is a lot to take in and you really need some time with it. Of course, there are songs that I won't be playing as much as others, but they're all good. I don't agree with the opinion that she should've left it just at the standard album, that re-recording and putting out vault tracks spoiled her and now she thinks that every song she makes is worthy of an album... some of the songs on The Anthology part imho definitely better than some of the songs on the standard album.
Anyway my top 5 in no specific order: Who's Afraid of Little Old Me, The Prophecy, Cassandra, I Can Do It With a Broken Heart, So High School
I very much enjoy your videos. The overall production quality is just **chefs kiss**
I audibly said âoh noâ when you said you were listening to this on a run. đ I love this album but a workout mix it is not.
My favorite from the album definitely changes day by day but I think my ultimate favorite is âBut Daddy I Love Himâ. I love Taylor going off on the people who try to tell her what to do. It was a much needed scolding to a section of her fan base that takes the parasocial relationship too far. Plus itâs just a bop.
First, thank you! As far as the run goes, Iâm just glad that I was running with people vs alone đ
Even since uploading this video my top shifts around a lot but I havenât reached an ultimate favorite yet
I liked the album right off the bat, but Iâm liking it more and more as time goes on. So many of the songs are stuck in my head!!
My top 5:
1. Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me
2. But Daddy I Love Him
3. I Can Do It With A Broken Heart
4. thanK you aIMee
5. Guilty As Sin?
My favourite is "guilty as sin " and my top four are that and fresh out the slammer, fortnight, and I look in people's windows !!Honorable mention: Cassandra, Chloe or sam or sophia or marcus
I MUST KNOW YOUR LAST 2! lol
@@RellyMoorer My bottom 2? It may be controversial but it's
30. Down Bad
31. loml
I just hate Down Bad for no apparent reason, just don't like it
@@user-dl2og9vt2m oooo yeah lol....I meant from your top 5 BUT I was viewing your comment from my phone and for some reason it was only showing your top 3 and not showing the "show more" button so I thought you forgot your 4th and 5th....I'm on my computer and can see that its thanK you aIMee & Guilty as Sin
@@RellyMoorer Ohhhh well now you know my bottom 2 lol
Thank you for your work I am super inspired by you man. Will be watching more. Iâve been wanting to review music for a long time and watching you has really helped!
Nice vid! I was super excited for this album and picked it up on vinyl the day it came out! My fave songs were But Daddy I Love Him, Whoâs Afraid of Little Old Me, I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, and of course, FLORIDA!!! Generally solid album!
I actually really enjoy this album... BUT I also agree it's a lot of songs to drop in one night. And it's a very specific vibe, like being alone on a walk or something.
I think the reasoning behind it is (if you payed attention to the lyrics) she is letting go of all her past issues/trauma/whatever you want to call it and she is ready to move on. I just think she didn't want to hold on to any of this anymore because overall the album is a pretty depressing/sad vibe. Very relatable, but she seems so much happier in her life at the moment and I think she just wants to move on and be happy and leave all that sadness and drama from her past behind. (Seems to be what she's saying in the Manuscript).
That's just my personal opinion :)
Oh, fave songs are definitely "I look in peoples windows", "I hate it here", "the albatross", and "the prophecy" đ©·
As a Swiftie since 2011, thank you for giving Taylor/TTPD a chance! This album is so divisive, I love all of the differing reactions and reviews and I agree that it does blend together a but when youâre listening to it back to back, especially The Anthology. Once you start to shuffle it with the rest of her discography or other music it begins to stand on its own. We also have similar favorites!
Hereâs my top 5 from TTPD:
1) I Can Do It With A Broken Heart
2) The Tortured Poets Department
3) Florida!!!
4) The Alchemy
5) Whoâs Afraid of Little Old Me?
HM) I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)
âŠAnd top 5 from Anthology:
1) Cassandra
2) imgonnagetyouback
3) The Prophecy
4) I Hate It Here
5) The Black Dog
HM) Chloe / The Albatross
I'm watching this after seeing clips of the new set on her tour - I absolutely love "I can do it with a broken heart." Even though it's sad at the same time. Her performance of it is so good. "But daddy I love him" is my overall favorite.
FLORIDAAAA!!!!
Oh, the Foo Fighters! How can you not love them.
I have appreciated your takes. Me, I wasn't sure what I thought on first listen. I needed lyrics, I needed to listen again. But I definitely have some loves on these albums now. These told a whole story, and I'm one of the ones who appreciated the whole arc even if not every song is one I like.
I also donât like Fortnight and expected more! And my first listen - same on it all sounding the same lol. But after 2-3 listens I was like oh my god Iâm obsessed, and the songs kind of individualized in my brain
Solid top choices!
They donât all sound the same especially part 1 compared to part 2 but this album did take a few listens for me to really like it, and even though the songs play in my head on a loop, Iâm not at the âlistening to it constantlyâ stage bc itâs sadder than what Iâd like to listen to right now, but itâs no less genius
I agree with that. I realized that if I casually listened then it sounded similar but thatâs my own fault for not paying attention. Which is why I eventually took a deeper dive. Obviously songs like I can do it with a broken heart stand rhythmically than the rest
Honestly ur videos are fun to watch cus there isn't actually many non-swifties who take the time to deep dive into Taylor as a whole...so I think its super cool ur doing that! đ In my first listen I didn't like it as much but then it started to grow on me...honestly I wonder what kind of drug Taylor put into this album đ My top five in no particular order is...
I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, Down Bad, The Prophecy, So Long London and Peter...this changes constantly cus I'm rly indecisive đ
My top 3:
1. Whoâs afraid of little old me
2. The prophecy
3. Blackdog
I agree with all your takes and lowkey same day 1 was a disappointment. It takes a few days to understand and like the songs. I love listening to it when writing/drawing (im an animator and writer) and *not* when im running or doing a work out
Yeah, now I definitely appreciate it more than when I first listened to it. Definitely not running to it again đ
It is A LOT of songs. But I would never say too many, because I love so much new content.
I think it's not a correct assumption to say that the streams are going down because people don't want that many songs. I think the problem is time itself - I often start an album (any album) and then don't have the time to finish it. Sometimes 15 songs in, sometimes even 5 song in, that's just life. It has nothing to do with the content itself. But it does indicate that people listen to it as a whole, not just a few "random" songs.
8:37 I could only think of one off the top of my head, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by Smashing Pumpkins
I thought it all sounded the same at the beginning (production&music-wise, not like lyrics cuz the lyrics are amazing), but THEN, I shuffled TTPD through all of my music and IT SOUNDS SO MUCH BETTER
My favorite songs change everyday, everyday i actually discover an appreciation for a new song. your top 5 was awesome.
i agree it may be a little too many songs especially nowadays, but i enjoy most of them. Overall, i liked a lot the album but i agree that it grew on me day by day. It's not my favorite album of hers, but i never expected it to be, not in a bad way just in the sense that i kinda enjoy all her albums just some more than the others. My favorite is Folklore and this album is in my top 5 for sure. I think people (non-swifties) expected the album to be the best album of all time and if it didn't do it for them, which is understandable, they say it's the worst album ever. Also so many people are listenning to it that she can never win, if it's too poetic she's pretentious, if it's funny lyrics she's not a good songwriter. Just my thoughts, please be nice hahaha. Hi from Spain!!! Lover your videos!!
5:51 thank you for saying that. I am made fun of for being a swiftie all the time but music is so subjective and people do the same things for other artists.
i love that The Prophecy is in your top 5 and Cassandra being in honorable mentions my top 5 in no particular order is The Prophecy, Cassandra, The manuscript, Loml, and Guilty as Sin
There will be songs that I am not drawn to, but once I understand the lyrics and they resonate with me, I start to appreciate it. And itâs not just Taylor Swift songs. Itâs a lot of different artists.
Thatâs honestly one of the best approaches! Thatâs why I try to listen to Artistâs songs that are as popular and usually those are the ones that hit
I felt the same about Post not having enough mic time! Exactly the same!
I feel like this is an album you have to be in the mood for. It's not one that you put on while working out or working. It's an album you go to for introspection. I know that this album will have to be put on the shelf sometimes for me because of the sadness it evokes. Sometimes we just need something peppy (working out), mellow (chill work music), introspective (when we need to process emotions). So I say don't force yourself to listen to something when the timing is not right. For instance, I loved Dua Lipa's last album, but this one is not doing it for me. But I'm not writing it off yet, just realizing I'm not in the right place to listen to it. Same with the new song that came out for Imagine Dragons... I love them, but I don't like the new song. But it sounds like them, so I assume it's not the time for me right now.
I have enjoyed this t swift trilogy of videos! I will also say this album especially felt like âtaylor swift loreâ for the fans or swiftorians (lol) to pick apart, to non-taylor swift fans, that is often missed. But I agree 31 songs was too many and all sounded like a long, run on sentence. This album has to grow on you a lot with time.
My top 5: Down Bad, But Daddy I Love Him, Guilty As Sin?, The Black Dog, Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus
I tried really hard to include imgonnagetyouback, but there's no space left :( I also love Florida!, Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?, loml, I Can Do It with a Broken Heart, So High School, The Prophecy... yeah, I give up, basically all of them :D
Running to this album is craaazy đ i saw some girl say it was perfect for slow runs and i was like đ€š
I feel like Taylor released all of the songs because writing them was very therapeutic for her, and releasing them instead of keeping them on the editing room floor fits the theme of trying to break out of the box she's been put in. I think most people in today's society don't listen to albums all the way through on a regular basis- we listen to our favorite songs on shuffle. I'm sure Taylor knows that not all of these songs will get the same number of streams once we've all gotten our inital listens done and move on.
I love The Prophecy, Cassandra, & The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, and I am enjoying dancing to My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, Down Bad, and Florida!!! ... as well as I Can Do It With a Broken Heart... even though that one made me genuinely concerned for a bit đ
The songs he was running to were literally upbeat tracks you could potentially hear on 1989, so I'm confused by that one...
@adambrigue5977 He ran 14 miles, so he def listened to more songs than he showed us... there some awful songs to run to on the album lol. everyone's different, but even if the bpm is "good for a run" , some of the songs have weird beat changes or lyrics that just đȘđȘ
The race was 14 miles and I started with Fortnight and made it to Peter so they werenât all necessarily upbeat.
@@melissad807 he also said he went home and tried again ... Even looking up the lyrics so I'm still at a loss
@@RellyMoorer that's fair but 90 percent of reviews mirror your take and those people weren't running at all... Neither was I when I heard the album
This album was a letter to her fans. So totally fine if outsiders donât get it. And no, not too many songs. Not the first artist to release two albums at once, and her fans are totally used to many new songs given what happened during the pandemic and her re-recordings. Many people are still not understanding that Taylor Swift is a once in a lifetime phenomenon. They are not getting it. She doesnât care about industry rules and standards, sheâs the industry. And her fans agree.
The Tortured Poet's is my #4 album in my ranking!!
oooo What's your top 3?
@@RellyMoorer

#3 Speak Now
(I like the early albums a lot)
My Top 5 is similar to yours.
I'd swap Florida for Who's Afraid of Little Old Me and my honorable mentions would go to The Smallest Man and My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys.
I think it's a strong album but I was overwhelmed by the number of new songs all coming out at once. I wish we'd gotten say, a fortnight, between TPPD and The Anthology.
Many of her friends and peers are releasing music right now too so I think the really short promo period leading to April 19 (not even a full week) and just ripping the bandaid off and releasing it all at once were probably meant to avoid monopolizing the convo for very long.
I wrote all the TTPD songs down then made two separate lists with half the songs on each list and then I organized the two list for faster / slower paced songs then made said lists on Spotify so I now have my two perfect albums đ€Ł
Hahaha thatâs awesome. The dedication!
The random Florida!!! Thing is necessary
I do it all the time
loved your videos, i always find a parallel between taylor fans, metal fans and hip hop fans. Thats why some say taylor has "bars" lmaoo bc when u know the lyrics, you'll see she is ending people left and right. And the level of dedication fans have to discover this is similar to hip hop fans (see drake and kendrick rn) and metal fans.
My fav double albums are All Eyez On Me and pink floyd the wall (even tho is not a double album, ts should have done "sides").
I loved the project and is, for now, my favorite from her, i feel like encapsulates her music from 2020-2023 and, again, in my opinion, she did her best work ever during this decade.
I loved them... i think if you take it as one album it is too long, but they are 2 albums.... i think that is really important to keep in mind
So true!
I'm a rep fan as well.
I think people saying, there are too many songs is hilarious. ITS A DOUBLE ALBUM. So 31 tracksâŠ..TRACKS!
Anyone who would say the songs on this album sound the same clearly know ZERO about music/production or lyrics. It is her best album yet, but it is a little too advanced for the shallow listeners, they will need more time to grasp the genius of the production, lyrics and theme of this masterpiece. I would be embarrassed if I listened to this album and had thought than any of the songs sound the same, when they every song is literally completely different....
Youâre right! Obviously there are songs that sound different melodically (Florida, I can do it with a broken heart, So high school). The blanket statement of it all sounds the same was to draw viewers in and at the beginning when I casually listened (background music) and didnât pay attention to the lyrics sure yeah some sounded similar. In the video I said that the production was good. Lyrically they obviously are unique in their own way. Shallow listeners would be the âaverage personâ IMO. The person that just listened to it once and moved on with their life lol
They donât all sound exactly alike but there is a vibe that runs throughout. Just like Reputation or 1989 has a vibe. My first listen felt monotonous but the songs have started to differentiate themselves. They are not âliterally completely differentâ. There are even a lot of songs that call back to other songs from past albums. There is definite sameness but it isnât necessarily a bad thing.
@@musicfangirl7403agree this album has a vibe, the vibe is unique in her catalog. The songs on the album have a similar vibe, Iâd agree with that. Not sure if you meant songs on 1989 and Rep have the same vibeâŠ. 1989 and Rep definitely do not have the same vibe, but songs on 1989 have a consistent vibe and so do the songs on Rep.
No I didnât mean that 1989 and Rep are the same kind of sound. Along with Folklore, they are the three most cohesive sounding albums in her later catalog. I would put the original Midnights in there too before she added all the extra stuff.
Thing is to me right now, I appreciate a lot of it especially second part and also I need upbeat stuff so this is not right for me in this moment .

my top 5 ttpd songs:
5th - Florida!!!
4th - thanK you aIMee
3th - The Black Dog
2nd - I can do it with a broken heart

They all do not sound the same I have to disagree
Youâre right though. At first when I casually listened (not paying attention really) the melodies did but thatâs my own fault. Songs like I can do it with a broken heart obviously sound different. Once I personally took a deeper dive then each song had its own âstory/personalityâ
I would say there are similar topics for sure, but the beats are varied. Hope you are enjoying the journey
As a Swiftie, to be honest, the first time I istened to the album, I was disappointed. All the songs sounded the same. At first I totally ignored the Anthology (the 2nd part) because it was just too much. But now, two weeks later, I really enjoy it. I listen more to the original album, and I like them all. I agree with you, the lyrics really make the difference.

Needless to say, I love it. It's grown on my so much, and I'd thought it would be more of a slow burn. I re-ranked all of Taylor's songs, and 18 from TTPD made my top 50.
I like how honest he is with his reviews and the fact that he isn't afraid of how BRUTAL swifties can be when you don't like a song/album they like (which can happen for anything but swifties are kinda sorta harsh about it)
florida!!! đŁđŁđŁ
31 songs is a lot. Buuuttt, itâs 13 backwards. We all know how much she likes the number and itâs another Tylor thing to do. Letâs just make an album with that many, 31 (13).
Shoutout to the number 13 being everywhere!
1. Down bad
2. I can do it with a broken heart
3. Whose afraid of little old me
4. Cassandra
5. I can't decide there are so many good ones
I love the random "fLOrIdA" lol
my favorite is But Daddy I Love Him, but it's honestly so hard to rank this album because almost all of it is 10/10 it's fr her best work and my favorite album of hers by far (sorry rep)
Awww rep takes 2nd place lol
you should do something like this with lana del rey's music
Haha Ginnie is the most fun Swiftie to follow on TT
Side note: You can take a nap whenever you feel! You earned it just by being a person who may enjoy a nap! đ
Songs in the Key of Life? Iâd say that was successful. The River? Quadraphenia? Câmon. Amazing double albums.
So funny. Don't like Florida but the rest are growing on me! Lol
my favs at the moment are:
chloe or sam or sophia or marcus the black dog
i hate it here
fresh out the slammer

I was underwhelmed on the first listen and couldnât tell the songs apart. Itâs a mellow vibe and thatâs ok. She throws a lot of words at you in her signature cadence and your brain begins to swim. But when those melodic hooks start to adhere to your brain, you know youâre starting to absorb the album! Now that Iâve given it a few listens I think, like always, she has some of her most brilliant songs, many fine songs and then a few I donât like. So Long London, LOML and Whoâs Afraid of Little Old Me are big stand outs. There are a few super cringy lines⊠Charlie Puth? I mean, eye roll. And I canât believe she used the word touchdown in a song about Travis. Ugh. Such a disappointment. I havenât even gotten to the Anthology second half yet because 31 songs are too many damn songs.
I love the new album but youâre correct even us die hard Swifties are like damn thatâs a lot to take in (and thereâs a rumor of a third album drop in May 3 so be prepared if thatâs true - some are saying another 10 songs - 41 flip it 14 yup you guessed it a fortnight) anyway âŠ.. I digress! Itâs hard to say my favorite because each one invokes something for the bops I love ICDIWABH - I call that my bawling bop cuz beeotch got me crying and dancing at the same time but itâs also a testament to her strength and tenacity and itâs admirable- FLOrIDA and Downbad are jams - but if I had to say fav : I Hate it Here is mine only because I really connected to the lyrics (The Secret Garden was my fav book as a kid and my mom who passed of cancer in 2020 used to call me her precious child - and that was so me escaping to my literary life in my head ) đą âŠ.. but again I love them all some are so heartbreakingly beautiful that I want to love them for everything about them but also feel guilty that I love a song about her pain if that makes sense - the talent is almost overwhelming on this album.
So canât wait til May 3rd and we shall see if the rumors are true !!! Stay tuned !
Have you been stretching?
Haha yes! This time I have been. Thanks for asking
PLEASE do something like this with the band Pink Floyd, you will not regret it! Go to replyâs for more info and respond when you see this please!
With Pink Floyd, you have to listen to the albums start to finish. Itâs like a story, or a movie, all in just music. They are really touching and their album âDark Side of the Moonâ was on the top 200 billboards for a total of 18 years and is the longest album to ever be on the charts. Please do a reaction video listen to it, along with the other albums âAnimalsâ, âWish You Were Hereâ, âThe Wallâ, and âMeddleâ. Trust me they will NOT disappoint!
I also subbed and turned my notifications on!
I definitely have it in the works! My Father in Law is a big music guy and I actually don't know his opinion on pink floyd so it'll be interesting.
@@RellyMoorer Pink Floyd is amazing. I have 4 of their albums on vinyl! When listening you have to really pay attention to the lyrics, itâs life changing. The guitar solos are AMAZING, thanks for telling me and I have notifications on for whenever a video comes out!
@@RellyMoorer again, listen to the albums start to finish in one sitting. Itâs like a movie, youâll see what I mean once you do. Albums to listen to are âDark Side of the Moonâ, âAnimalsâ, âThe Wallâ, âWish You Were Hereâ, and âMeddleâ. Trust theyâre great! One last thing, The Wall is a double album. If you can, separate the reactions for each disc and thatâs your queue to take a break if needed for that album. Thanks! Enjoy PF!!!
What is 31 backwards? 13 and that is why 31, we all know Taylor's favorite number is 13 and it is also her birthdate Dec. 13 1989.
I guess you could say on the spectrum of Taylor Swift You are an âIftyâ?
I loved her old albums, but I've hated her last two. I like her fun pop songs. This album sounds like a journal read over very generic electronica music.
midnights is pop
ez sub
I've been a diehard swiftie since ~2007, and I also agree -- I don't think this is her best album, and it's not one of my favorites. BUT, even if I don't think the album as a whole is one of her best, I do think she has some real standouts on this record, songs that I think sit higher than many others in her catalogue. I'd probably put The Prophecy as my #1 on the album; I think its such a perfect example of her songwriting skill and how adept she is at effectively capturing a mood or a feeling and turning it into a gripping story with a haunting melody. She tends to be really, really good at that lmao. I also think So High School is such a Speak Now-era song in terms of its sound, and I love that. I'd say my other favorites are The Albatross, The Bolter, Fortnight, and I Look In People's Windows.
The one thing I do love about this album as a whole is she's really gone all-in on her return to brutally honest, diaristic songwriting. If you were a young girl back when she was new, it was SO refreshing to see a young girl like us write candidly about her thoughts and feelings, even if other people found it... uncouth lol. As I grew up with her, watching her self-censor a bit across her albums was... disappointing? Maybe that's not the right word. But on the bright side, doing that forced her to develop her more creative, poetic side, learn how to write with new metaphors and motifs to express herself and talk about her life. Now I think we're starting to see the best of both worlds -- she's being just as painfully honest and diaristic as she was when she was first starting out, but now she has the experience of the really brilliant writing she exhibited on folklore, evermore, and Midnights. (She's always been an exceptional writer -- I'll always talk about how brilliant Speak Now was -- but those albums were something else.) Getting to see her be open about her life, but in an even more poetic and thoughtful way is such a treat, even if this album doesn't entirely sound the way I wanted it to.
You, my man, NEED A LIFE.
And what life do you want me to have exactly?
pls do Sabrina carpenter emails i cant send fwd! Its a short album easy to get through but such a vibe. @RellyMoorer
i second this itâs my all time fav album
Love that you put Prophecy into your top 5. đ«¶
My favorite would *at the moment* be Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus. The subtlety of that one istrument that shows up...Idk, it does stuff to my heart.
P.S. 31 is not too many. I like having material. I am not in a rush to be finished with it.
I think people also feel like they need to immediately listen to every song ASAP
â@@RellyMoorerI'm a huge fan of her music honestly I haven't listen to all of it yet overall I love how all the stories seems connected
Imaging being pin by the legend it self could never be me
I am a swiftie and I think that this album is for those who are into poetry and literature in general, the others will just not get it and that's okay.
