I really dislike killing off companion characters which is the only reason I'm keeping her around. I don't want to miss any companion Quests or any special loot. But it's really hard to justify with her
@@BlueDragonKnight77 IMO a good idea is to include a replacement quest if you kill a companion for plot reasons, especially with ones like Camellia who really should have it happen to them if your character has a certain alignment. It gives players the room to feel like they are roleplaying their character without feeling penalized for that roleplay, even if it may mean missing out on some unique items. To use an example from Kingmaker, if we get rid of Nok-Nok because he's a goblin who openly worships Lamatshu at a time when her cultists (goblin and otherwise) are stirring up trouble, then that should affect future quests. If we don't kill him at the village, have him show up as an opponent at the shrines or as part of the troublemakers at Oleg's. If we kill him, have the events still start as they were but they're more conventional monster encounters such as Nyrissa still sending the Bargheist against you. Admittedly with some companions it is a lot harder to justify the events still happening - Valerie's entire quest depends on her being in your service rather than Shelyn's, so if she is not in your service either because you dismissed her or because you left her for Pharasma after she fell in battle then those events really shouldn't happen (though you might be able to make some replacements, like an Evil character having to deal with the Shelynites opposing them on principle, whereas with Valerie around they're more concerned about her in your service)
Actually I’d say that with Wenduag who actually does start changing towards the end where her alignment shifts to true neutral and promises she’ll give uplander stuff like “kindness”, “compassion” and “honor” a try.

In my first play through, I killed her when she revealed that she was a serial killer. In my Lich play through, I romanced her purely so I could use her as a sacrifice for the final ritual. Honestly, it felt pretty good both times. Also props to Owlcat for making a companion SO evil, that there is literally no good ending with her if she lives.
And ending where she dies IS a good ending in ny books. In fact, the best ending for her is the Aeon one (she is unmade since her father never becomes noble and hence never meets her mother, she doesn't even get an ending slide lol)
It's actually kinda sad. You can see, she is trying to get rid of her murderous cravings and simply be with you, by staging a "normal" date. She fails miserably, and gets depressed, that's why she lashes out this badly. Then she even gives you a simple option to get out of the relationship, because she cares about you. Her vanishing and returning is mirroring exactly this. She is a psychopath that does not understand what it is, and is devastated/happy when she starts caring about the single thing she cares about. You.
Well, you know, I pretty much guessed she was evil very soon. Didn't know she was THAT evil though until I read the spoilers. I didn't discover the real reason behind her "sacrifices" till the end, since I didn't allow her any. And being "chaotic evil" could have hinted indeed to what she really was.
Think a lot of people have a fundamental misunderstanding of the character if they say she was fake the whole time and never really loved the commander and just uses him for her own ends. It definitely starts out like that but she clearly gets attached. There's a part early on when you ask her about the pleasure she gets from killing where she says that literally, nothing in life pleases her more than killing someone who wouldn't expect it, someone who thought she was their friend and trusted her. but in the end she can't bring herself to do it to the commander who would be a perfect target for that. A lot of people hate the ending but I actually think it's beautiful and tragic. The Commander understands her even better than Horgus and unlike him, isn't embarrassed to be seen with her. She talks about how she understands the way her father treated her and wasn't bothered by it but clearly it sucked for her, no matter what she says IMO she's lying to herself about that. The commander doesn't lock her up in a gilded cage like Horgus did and even though you both love being together, Camellia knows that if she stays she's going to hurt maybe the only thing she ever really loved or cared about that isn't a sharp piece of metal, also almost assuredly the only one who will ever love her. so she leaves. As messed up as this whole thing is and coming from maybe the most evil mortal character in the game... I think that's very sweet. If you don't romance her and keep her alive, you basically only ever see the side of her that is fake and venomous. You don't get to see the side of her that so desperately wants to be understood, that so desperately wants to be loved by someone because she was't understood or loved as a little girl, the side that feigns indifference to your affection because she's scared to be vulnerable in any way, so I understand why many dislike her. For me personally, though, she has become my favorite companion and romanceable character in any game I've ever played. Not much. If you say no two times to her requests she will try to kill you when you are entirely alone with her. And mostly because she _knows_ that you will obliterate her with the others near, which is why she will always loose her temper when you are alone. When she stabs him that way it's not in a quiet or alone place, so she probably thought that she would end badly if she did. So she either was doing that just to really show everyone the relationship, or she lost control for a moment then she reminded herself "wait, how the hell I get out alive from here if he dies?"
