    Nice build. I see a lot of comments on how this is a processor for the average guy. While that may be true you still need equipment to feed it. I started down that path of hauling logs to a staging area to be bucked and split. Your going to need something to skid logs could be a tractor or a ATV and a log arch. The Wallenstein processor concept is one that I'm coming to appreciate as pretty solid. The winch drags the log to the splitter and up the chute to be cut. The beauty of all that is no clean up at the processing area if you can get the splitter close to the logs. Not taking anything away from the video just pointing out it takes more than a efficient processor to win the war on firewood. It's always a materials handling issue that seems to snowball into more equipment.

    Sorry for not replying to you guys i didnt realize so many people have watched this video. I only put up this video to show my buddy. The video was to big to email to him so i put it on here. I'll try to make some time to make another video of the details of the splitter. To be honest i dont really remember all the exact parts i used, i'll have to pull it out of the shed go over it. Thanks for all the nice comments.

  • @bubba8876
    @bubba8876 Před 7 lety +12

    I keep coming back here and watching this thing. Buddy, if you could produce these and sell them for a price that your average man could afford, you would clean up. Most firewood processors are marketed to people who want to make profit with them and can thereby pay for the machine. The price of firewood is so low that this can only be done on a massive scale. There is nothing in the few thousand dollar range for the guy who just wants to make his necessary annual firewood cutting a little less grueling and more efficient. Your machine is perfect the size, scale and functionality and exactly what the wood cutter working alone needs.

    A great set up, with one suggestion. The splitter section is activated by a foot pedal, usually found on electric sewing machines.

    • @firstnamelastname9097
      @firstnamelastname9097 Před 8 měsíci

      Not to bring up a 3 year old comment. But foot pedals are bad news with the hazards of wood dust, mud and your cut wood could hit the switch and activate a function at the most inconvenient time of a hand being in the way.

    Another comment. I know the Stihl saw works most excellent. After being ripped off with other brands I think Stihl is the only real saw made. But on a stationary use like this has anyone tried using a 4 stroke engine like a 6.5 HP Clonda to power the saw cutting the lengths? My bigger Stihl's burn alot of gas mix. Where a cloned Honda will work hard for hours on a tank full. Also weight isn't an issue on a processor.

      Used saw 400$
      Honda Motor 500$
      Hydraulic machinery 200-1000$
      Electro motor 200$
      I guess around 1200$-2000$
      The hydraulics are here in Europe not cheap.
      When you use scrapparts you will get the machine cheaper.
