  • Many nonprofit employees have been conditioned to think they cannot or should not weigh in on policy, elected officials, or candidates for office. The fear of getting "political" holds us back from influencing the decision-makers who most need to hear from subject matter experts who do sheltering and rescue work.Get the building blocks you need to build political capital, establish credibility, form a coalition, and engage with your community. When advocates come together to pass progressive legislation and elect candidates who care about protecting animals, we can be more effective lifesavers.
