oh my god. this is so smart.
Holy crap, I just realized who you are. Thanks for watching one of my videos! You might appreciate my new video I have coming out in a week using thermo-plastic. Its a great tool and I would never have found it without your videos.
Necessity is the mother of invention
good job man
cool idea!
How innovative
Brilliant idea!
Wow, I am at a loss for words. Such an intelligent creation! Thank you so much for sharing this process! (And of course, the rest of your videos).
You are much appreciated!
Glad you liked it. It was fun to work on.
genius! thank you
Really well done and it seems like it would carry several adjacent applications!
this is genious! i just found your channel and i'm really impressed by your creative techniques, one of my new favorite crafting channels for sure
SO cool I'm gonna be doing a huge diorama and have been looking for time and money saving ways. God bless sir 🙏
This was really neat! I never would have thought to make bricks this way! What silicone did you use to make you mold?
I used a home made silicon from caulk. This tends to get a lot of air bubbles, however, so I would recommend a smooth-on silicon rubber. You can get it for a reasonable price on Amazon.
@@medievalmason3929 oh cool. I've got a vacuum chamber, so the bubbles wouldn't be a huge deal. I'd just never seen a silicone quite like that. It almost looked like you were pouring on a thixotropic. Really awesome technique!
That's awesome man, im loving your videos. I read in the comments that the silicone is one of your inventions... so you mind sharing the tip??... where i live there is no silicone to buy ( for molds ) and the caulk molds i known how to make will not work for something like this.
It was 100% silicon caulk mixed with corn starch and a little mineral spirits. But beware, it took me a lot of failed attempts and a crap ton of silicon until I got it right. I thought about making a video on it, but decided against it since it was so hard to get right, and I didn't want to waist people's money/time.
@@medievalmason3929 thanks man, i might try some proportions and if i get something i might share it with you so you have that if you want to make a video about it.
I love the idea! Do you plan on doing different patterns as well?
Eventually. As I do more projects, I think that will be a must. ;)
Have you considered sinking some kind of mesh screen into the greatstuff to act like rebar reinforcement?
just found this great video! just to be sure: the organic brick texture itself comes from breaking off the stones after casting?
Paint guide please!!!
Amazing video. but that process was the easy way!?
Any chance you'd be willing to sell a copy of the mold? The results look amazing.
I really wish I had the time/resources to make a bunch and sell them on ebay or something, but can't really at this time. Maybe one day, I know I would have bought them a few years ago ;)
@@medievalmason3929 Absolutely a great product idea. I would make my own like you did but there are a few too many skills involved that I haven't tried yet.
It creates such an awesome looking result.
Any chance you'd consider selling sheets of the foam brick walls? Then we could cut them as needed.
