Got the exact same one ('06 V in black raven with the more aggressive 2009 rear bumper) and it's amazing the attention it gets because of its rarity. In terms of looks, it has truly stood the test of time considering the newest V Blackwings look a ton like it especially from the rear. Great choice, and love the Corsa exhaust

Interestingly, the XLR was based on the evolution of the C5 into the C6, so it's really more of a C5.5. It's why some of the components in the vehicle are straight out of the C6.
I'm pretty sure the wood is real, Cadillac called it Zebrano. Also, the switches on teh steering wheel were much nicer for the 2008 & 2009 model year. The aluminum trim around the dash has a very finely etched pattern. I thnk it was designed and made by Bulgari (high-end Italian jewelry designer who did the gauge cluster for the XLR) and was very expensive, and a bit fragile, I see a lot of XLRs w/ dents in the center console. The trim changed in 2009 when Cadillac dropped Bulgari. XLR-V prices bottomed some years ago, when you could get one in the 40-50 thousand mile range for $35k. Now they seem much higher.
Yes it’s is real wood. It veneer over abs plastic.
A friend of mine has one of these, a rarity here in Canada as it wasn't sold here - we could only get the regular XLR. I have been bugging him (and now his widow as he passed away last year) for years to sell it to me to no avail.

Back when Cadillac was working to regain their position at the top of the market. This car could compete with the Ferrari California. Then came the bankruptcy and they just gave up. Sad. I drive an 03 T-bird but I think I'll get my Wife an XLR. Just beautiful, much like her.
Cadillac today may no longer be aiming to defeat the icons of luxury and performance (such as the S class and Ferrari) but they have done an effective job in dominating the super sedan segment with the CT4V and CT5V. If they made a new XLR based on the C8, I think it could be a world-beater.

It’s a sticker - and it has a part number, I’m afraid. It is most certainly fake, and can be scratched off if careless.

Funny side by the fact: opening the trunk ment, that water would enter the trunk. Brilliant!
That happens with a whole bunch of convertibles. Not to mention that for any soft top that rests in the trunk, if the soft top is wet, then the trunk will get wet, too.
