I should be sleeping but this man building a shed is more important.
Same😂😂😂
Exactly what I’m doing 4 nights later
I’m thinking the same thing right now at @4:30 am Monday morning 4/26/21
Absolutely with you on that one :D
3am 3 days after you lol
I have watched my husband do all this for years. Watching you work brings good memories. He is disabled now, but I honestly think I could take on a she shed after watching this! You are generously giving for free knowledge and skills people have had to apprentice for years to learn! Thank you!
You can do this. Cheers Susan!
This is so wholesome
So glad I found this, your constant mantra of "Don't worry, it's just a shed" is helping me to avoid over-planning!
By far, one of the best diy videos on the internet….you have no idea how much you’ve helped me build my own shed. THANK YOU!!
you're a literal saint for posting this without slapping ads on it. we love you, shed man
This guy has Dad shoes, we can trust him.
Lmao 😂😂😂
So fckn true tho
HAHA #newbalance
Old balance
It's true! Old guys do wear dad shoes. Old ladies buy them for their old guys - because men who wear dad shoes are usually too busy to buy their own shoes. One of the best things about being old is that nobody really cares what shoes you wear. It's a blessing in disguise because at some point your feet hurt too much to care about fashion. :)
Wow, 10M of you watched this. Incredible. Thank you so much. If you built your own shed DM me the pictures on Instagram or Facebook. I’m working on a fun project and would love to feature your work. And for those of you watching this instead of doing your homework, Cheers I appreciate you. I hated homework too
Ya. I've watched all your videos. I like you tile work the best.
I have to say though, You look 🔥HOT!🔥 in this video. I'm just saying I've never seen you sweat so much. 😜🤪😝
I'm sure i'm not alone in appreciating the clear, concise instructions and authentic delivery. Keep up the fine work. Starting a shed project with a friend. 10x20, loved the side door idea for the lawnmower. Here's to the next 10million view!

I LOVE this A to Z format. Not only do you cover everything, but you add lots of helpful hints for lots of other things. This has been so valuable, thank you so much!
Here’s a good question: Why not use a nailer? I would guess you could cut the work and time in half, at least. That’s a lot of screws. Compare that to 1 second.
Anyone else watch an almost 4 hour video, with no intention of actually building a shed? No regrets.
Cheers!
Guilty.
I did and I am a builder.
lol and here I thought I was the only one
yes I did maybe some day will build one if i'm still kicking lol
Jeff, you are true inspiration, I build this shed (without door, windows and paint) in 5 days without prior expierence - sure I spent 1 month watching over and over your video + planing, it took some time to convert all dim to metric system - not all went well ( I made my shed with 5x10 cm studs thinking 2 by 4 is literally 2 by 4 :) find out that it isn't ) . I build my shed 3x3m so I had to make few changes. Thank you for all the tips and tricks -I felt like a PRO building it :) . I was watching this so many times that one evening my wife and kidz said : Oh no, not Jeff again :) - not once I was bored wathing it :) . Greetings from Slovakia
Cheers to Slovakia, we were there last year and absolutely love your country. The Trencin Mountains were our favorite.
Miroslav Petrik how much did you spend on material?
I would say that a cubic meter of cement will run you back about $500- $700 alone, but if you want it delivered pre made, then you would add another 0 to the end.
Great Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you researched - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (do a search on google)? It is an awesome one off product for building better sheds and woodworking minus the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my buddy finally got great results with it.
My current situation. I wish these plans were available on the site. I am building a coup/shed combo and I want this to be my overall design. I am on my third time around, making calculations, and sourcing products.
I say this without sarcasm or irony: this is one of the coolest, most interesting videos I've ever watched. As someone who doesn't come from a handyman background, and who hopes to own a home in the next several years, this is an inspiration and guide.
the fact that he explained the whole process so well while being entertaining atop of all that in 40°c is so impressive.
Didn't think I'd spend 4 hours of my sunday watching a man build a shed, but here we are. Great content!
Me to I’m professional builder 😁
I watch everything on double speed ....so much so that When I accidentally Start a video On normal it seems superbly slow... Indeed latly I been wishing CZcams went all the way up to times 4 speed like auditable does.
I don't know if you read all of these anymore, and I don't know if it's weird to mention, but I watch all of your videos and find myself wishing that I grew up with a dad like you. Thanks for everything you do here.
Cheers Tara! Little late to the comment but I appreciate it
You are just amazing! I am a 54 year old woman and you have given me the confidence to build this! Clear and concise. Love love love your work!

My dad has never been construction- or mechanically - inclined. What I learned about building and mechanics, I learned from my maternal grandfather. I learned a lot of other things from my father, though. I like to think it's helped keep me well-rounded.
I loved your deck and shed video. I was watching it and my husband starting watching it too. We have bought homes and improved them, then sold them [not flippers] for over 30 years. We wish we had found someone like you, 30 years ago. We could have saved thousands. Thank you for showing people the right way to build.
Holy shit. Did he screw everything on the deck too? That is an insane amount of work.
I want to say THANK YOU! I have been so burned by contractors lately I decided, I have a brain, I can learn, just need a teacher and I keep finding your videos BEST OF CLASS! With a little patience and your instruction (even watched your, "which tools I need", and have been grabbing them 🤗) I KNOW I CAN do anything I want to learn. THANK YOU!
You got this! And I am happy to help!
This is the kinda guy everyone wishes they had for a neighbor. Friendly, knowledgeable, and sensible!
If you can’t do what he can then you don’t want him for a neighbor. Because, he will suck away the last few drops of testosterone you have left. Then you will be a sad lump of a man.

Notice the type of fence erected between him and neighbour lol
And has all the tools necessary for any job.

I built an 8'3 1/2" square shed with the sloped roof, following the videos. It's on a crushed rock base with 4x6 framing and 2x6" floor joists. I also put 1/4" hardware cloth around the lower 3 ft. to discourage critters, as well as hardware cloth around the base to prevent burrowing. After lifting the first wall with the sheathing on, we switched to putting up the walls and then sheathing them (to reduce the weight of what we needed to lift). I did not add windows, but have a vent; I built two doors instead of a single pre-hung door, and omitted the mower door in the back. If I were to do it differently, I would make the walls 7'8 1/2" so the assembled shed was 8' to match the sheathing dimensions, and I would double check the framing of the base for square before dumping 1 1/2 tons of crushed rock inside it and positioning the walls. All in all, your instructions allowed a petite 60+ woman to build a shed.
Congratulations Ms. Koenig …..
Well Done ! His presentation style builds confidence that the listener can actually do this project if we relax and pay attention to what he is saying.
I do enjoy that you already would make changes if and when you do another build. He teaches in a manner that instills confidence that if We pay attention, and apply his information, there is a rewarding
Experience to be enjoyed.
You’re amazing!
Just watching this now - in 2021. I appreciate your tips and common-sense approach in what you do. As always, excellent instructions and advice.

Building my own shed now. FWIW, i found that ordering a concrete truck for the concrete was actually cheaper than bags, and once I paid off my buddies with Pizza and Beer to come over with their wheel barrows, it was the same price with no bag hauling or mixing.

At the end of my 8*10 shed build. Used your build, work around, tips and tricks to make it happen. I dno how many times I watched your video. But it helped all the way
I built a shed based on his design, and it worked out great. It's not exactly the same but I trust it. Thanks for all the side comments about construction of it.
Well Done. Cheers!
I can't wait to finish this. It's been really steady, calm, and to the point which came across informative but not making me feel stupid for not knowing something. I need to build a shed to sleep when my girlfriends other boyfriends come over. Thanks for the informative video! CLM ✊
This video is 4 years old and I sat thru all 4 hours of it. Best damn DIY shed building video ever!
I'm blown away (metaphorically speaking)!! I've NEVER watched a 3hr video but his content was gripping. I've no intention of building a shed per se, but I do want to frame inside a larger shed, and I want to put a veranda/shelter at my backyard. This has given me a really comprehensive understanding of the construction and helped me figure what I can do and what I will need help with - this 57yr old woman ain't walking no roof truss panels up a ladder!! This is a brilliant tutorial and learned some great tips for using the circular saw (love the table saw hack) so I can now plan my projects for the coming spring. I must say too that although Ireland has been metric for some time now - my default is still feet and inches. Fantastic video, well done, and props to the camera man who, like every good war correspondent kept it real, and never left his post even when you were struggling. Thanks for all of this.
Im building a raised hunting blind and have been planning on building it exactly like that pretty much. This video helps alot and glad I stumbled onto it. I appreciate your hard work and putting in the detail
I'm so happy CZcams algorithm brought up your channel 🎉 Usually DIY videos are only up to 30 minutes covering basics!! But for beginners every detail is important.. You're the top man!! Thanks for teacing ❤
Great video Jeff! I didn't realize that it was almost 4hrs long until the end. Capturing your audience full attention is a great skill 👍👍
Best DIY Ive seen in a long time, instructive clever and most importantly everything is shown to be within everyone's skill set ,the chat and humor make it even more appealing .
If you struggle to use a power tools or cant seal a window or door try it on a bit the off cuts lying around till you improve your skills excellent vid.

I love watching these kind of videos. Surprisingly, I watch them like it's a TV show. I don't do any of this kind of stuff really, but your How to install a new electrical socket really helped me out in 4 rooms and saved me literally hundreds. Now if I ever need a shed, well, I'm calling a truck with pre-made cement, lol - Thank you for the videos! Great work

The reference to Jim Dunsworth was just awesome
Every video I watch of yours, I learn something new. I feel like you’re my dad-coach helping me thru my DIY projects. Keep it up!!
Would you - or have you - consider doing a very very basic set of DIY videos. Like here’s some construction math for beginners, here’s what your tools are and how to use them, here’s how to some of the principles that apply across projects. Really really basic stuff. I can swing a hammer and get thru the main homeowner stuff, but building things take some essential know how that I don’t think I have… yet.
So very helpful for us DIY’ers!! Now I just need to rewatch and take notes for the design!
Can't believe I watched the whole 4 hour video. That's just how good it is. Thank you for the all the tips and tricks!

Hey man, I was able to get a lot out of listening to this video, playing in the background as I am configuring my S. Florida carport into a multifunction (wood/metal) workshop. Many unique challenges posed by the subtropical "rainforest" climate, considering both day-to-day oppressive heat & humidity as well as the inevitability of tropical storms & hurricanes.
Your explanations for why certain aspects of your design are required makes for a universal how-to with the only blanks being the nature of mitigating the impact of these regional variables .
Thanks for sharing your experience without censor, the true hallmark of what an informational documentary should be.✌️
I sent this video to all 3 of my sons, so many usable life skills in this video! I started to write them down but it seemed every few minutes you would drop another important tip Thank you very much. Burning your pilot holes, never saw that. Your tube on your drill that goes over the screws, genious! havnt seen that before. The side door! thats brilliant too, my shed is front only and its a constant job to keep it neat. Nice building, I and my family built our shop 24’x36’ , my 3 boys, all in grade school and junior high, put up the walls with wife and 2 daughters helping lift the walls up , my sons and I covered the walls in 4 hours, 1 walk in door and 1 16x10 garage door, I did all the trusses by myself, I averaged 7 minutes a trus, I put up trus with a 2x4 to level, used a rope to pull up truss upright had 2x2 stopper wood, I figured it was not bad, 10’6” side walls as I had to stay under 14’ due to city code, a framing nailer was my best friend, galvanized ring shank,

Also when nailing the lumber together I have found a little trick if the boards just won’t go flush by standing on them, use a 8d nail and pound it in at a 45degree angle and use your finger to pull the stud up as you use your thumb on the same hand to press against the plate. Works pretty slick
