As an animator, seeing these animated characters singing about animators being underpaid made me cry. I shit myself and wished for everyone to see this absolute masterpiece.
FR it feels like a cry for help, like that guy that got kidnapped by Vietnamese soldiers and they recorded him and sent the tape over to the USA to be like “naaaahhh he’s fine we’re being nice to him and TOTALLY not torturing him” and the SOLDIER BLINKED MORSE CODE for “help me they are hurting me” or something. Also that beatboxing dog was cute asf I want him to be my dog
I agree. I hate when people call something "the WORST movie" just because it's poorly animated. Like, it's not a masterpiece like something you'd expect from a bigger company, but it's not a terrible movie. It's just... not great but at has some okay things in it.
oh no there isnt a single thing quality about this movie aside from the comedy you get from watching it knowing its not going to make any sense, if you haven't sit-down to watch it in full, its a slog with sprinkles of laughing at the absurdity of the writing.@@jocelynecupcake

@@user-gg1on7xc6v it was a passion project and seeing all the hate must make the person feel like shit. It's not a corporation we're shitting on, but a person.
Of course we can poke fun at it, but there's a line between poking fun and being cruel. Sometimes the line is multiple people calling it the worst there could ever be when it was something you yourself made for many years without much external help. Although the hubris of calling it disney-level sure didn't help their situation.
It's a difficult line to see and easy to cross over, but it's there nonetheless. I'm guilty of crossing it too at times.

Fun fact: This movie was made by an actual CZcamsr named Calobi Productions, a person notorious for clickbait videos and tracing art for his cringe "beatbox battles" series (you can even see his self-insert persona in the movie, the blue skin dude with an ice cream sandwich hood). When the movie wasn't getting any views, he proceeded to cry like a bitch on Twitter claiming he worked on this movie for 6 years (even though it clearly doesn't look like it) and pulling the classic "you can't criticize me because it's an indie movie" move. What's ironic is that the movie is supposed to have a message about how artists barely get any respect and that tracing art is bad, yet the person behind it is an art tracer and the message is so botched it's hilarious.
Also, one of the funniest moments for me is when one of the girl characters (who is supposed to be British) says she "lost her accent" when she grew up, even though that's not how dialects work. This makes me believe that he didn't have the budget to hire an adult British VA, so he just wrote that line as a dumb excuse.

I'm pretty convinced they just put requests for voice actors on fivver and had any person that replied read lines for a character and used it as is.
That would also explain why the quality differs so much between characters. Some of them are decently voiced and the others are…… not

I genuinely believe that while the animation may not be AI generated, the script almost certainly is. Repeating the premise outright multiple times, the inability to keep a consistent backstory, goal, or plot, suddenly adding new plot points, lack of contractions, etc. These are pretty telltale signs of AI involvement in writing. If it's not, that's a hell of a coincidence and they're a *remarkably* terrible writer.
