Great catch of the 2 Slug units
I just love these videos they remind me of when my grandma took me out to the middle of nowhere just to watch Trains 🚂 go by much love to ya big 👍 God bless
A geep and not 1, not 2, but 3 slugs. Too sweet!
Great nature shots and the distant whistle and then the train coming around the curve through the trees.
thx!
I love the way you set the scene for your videos, giving a feel for the location... (not even rain keeps this guy from recording!)
I never knew that existed. Thank you Dave. I meet a young fella in Westfield Railroad Park today who said he knew you. He said you were a real cool guy. Good for you. I like that.
wow, thats cool! i have an idea who it could be (hes the only younger railfan i know who goes all over the place!). if its who i think it is, he's a really good kid. im glad hes out and getting around and doing things he likes!
I just passed to leave a big like 167 for this so great video my dear friend, with nice weekend greetings! Bye! 🍀🍀🍀
Wow! Once in a life time catch
Thank you for sharing the rain and the lush scenery with us, Dave...thank you for the train, hauling freight and graffiti...excellent!
Slugs love rain and moisture.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Love the view of the pond and tracks💕
me too
Nice scenery, nice 1st-Gen K5HL echoing thru the woods, and super nice slug set! Never seen them before
That Is A 2nd Gen K5HL Horn.
There are no Gens for any type of Airwhistle except for Prime Manufacturing. That horn is a Roundtag K5HL with a 1-piece Diecast 1L
Do either of you know what a “90day form”is?
@@mshum538 Do you perhaps mean 92 day inspection form?
@@AirchimeLTDproductions174 perhaps
Beautiful share
Never seen tanks attached to a dpu before. Nice.
Cool Dave im surprised you didn't look into that outhouse looking thing that far away sounding train horn with the rain was cool too keep it up
Rich Nature. The curve is extraordinary. Excellent video.

What an awesome find!
Such a beautiful Scenery and nice Train 💖
Nice catch!
Wow! Wasn't expecting those gold units! What's their story?
Btw great catch.
the "Slugs" (low height yellow units in this vid) appear purpose built, controled by lead unit.
Slugs. Get their name for traditional yard work, where it's slow, steady work. Hence slug. They're used like remote controlled, powered axles to increase tractive effort. They contain drive motors to help pull. Often converted power units with diesels removed. They get their power from an attached mother unit. Cement is added for ballast.
Where the yellow locomotive and slugs on/producing thrust in this video?
Great catch thanks
Great video!!!
Wow that was really cool. What a unique consist. 👍👍👍❤️
yep!
Awesome catch
Nice catch! Where would those slugs be going to?
they derailed somewhere north of Balto (near Philly, maybe?) and as far as I know, they're still there. They should eventually be coming back to the Balto coal pier.
@@BaltimoreAndOhioRR they derailed in South Philly yard, then moved to Eastside for repair. They been gone for about a month now
@@TowGuy90 Oh, thx for the info! So I guess they snuck back in to Baltimore?
This set is back at the pier. The mother unit generator failed and we shipped it back to Cumberland for repair.

Whats the history on engine 5A?
sympa le train toujours aussi long like
Beautiful share...
Awesome!!
Good unusual catch in a nice setting.
A slug that's not creepy or leaves a horrible slime trail. A slug I can touch
lol
I notice at least one car with the name Conrail
Is there a specific reason for placing that extra locomotive in the middle, as opposed to being on the back as a pusher? Very fun to watch. Thank you for this.
It's set as a DPU, so basically remotely controlled from the head end. All depends on how the train is built and where all the weight is at depends on there it's placed
Nice video
Very nice beautiful place.thanks for sharing. Like 93
I missed this again by mere seconds. Was coming home from Altoona tho. Well I did see 1776 and 911 at Bladensburg, MD. Even tho I missed them with the tanks at Longbridge
was that u i talked to?
BaltimoreAndOhioRR Yup😂 Sorry I didn’t have time to say much.
I remember in 94 I was in Kindergarten. The now PSRR nthen SF branch line for norther SD county. They had a slug. Used for shunting at the concrete plant. Slugs are good for adding traction. That's it.
Amazing and thumbs up my friend! :D
very good clip !
Nice scenery 🌼
Wonderful channel
Keep it up and keep uploading more videos 👍
You deserve more subs 😊
May your channel grow
I am your new friend
Nice video my friend.
i know for a fact that csx 3425 has a "live" camera on it
Why does it look like that with no way to get in the locomotive
?
does this slug set make it around Dundalk at all or the Canton RR
i dont think so
The cab seems armored 😮😁
Thats what I said, it looks like a tank!
😁
Very cool
Is that company still around? Or are these going to scrap?
Excellent. 💙 T.E.N.
Thank you kindly!🤍
Great share..Many thanks **********55
The locomotive is good as gold
That was cool
Passing by the old house :)
Are slug sets technically DMUs?
talk about hustling! Man, he must be late for dinner or a date.
... What is the story with CSX putting a "Helper" locomotive randomly in the middle of the trains? I have seen a bunch of trains with them on the "River Line" in Orange and Ulster Counties, New York.
It's a practice that CN has been doing for years. In some cases when they get to a chosen place they can separate the train to another place plus the unit in the middle allows more traction
Enjoyed seeing slugs. Dumb question: Did that train's route require 3 slugs worth of traction? I'm curious and want to learn.
No, all those orange locomotives were in transport only
Trailing mode only, you cannot MU the mother slug pair to any engines
Thanks guys. Just watched vid again .
Good morning to all from SE Louisiana 31 Jan 22.
Hello there!👋
How come that engine was plain yellow?
Keep it up
Awesome video the weird thing is that CSX 5a has windows but no doors no there is no access to the cab correct me if I'm wrong.
Is that mow equipment that looks like some
Nice.. calm video zooming which camera you using 👍👍👍
Great catch bud! Say...in the beginning, was that a modern day outhouse? If not it should be!
Excellent video. What radio do you use?
Yaesu
I counted 108 cars behind the slugs.
Ayyyyyy
