    I couldn’t find a hardtail and had to build one. Love the hardtail tone and stability. Tomo’s playing illustrate the deep, sustaining and resonant hardtail sound. Well actually - most of that great sound is Tomo himself!!

    Every guitar sounds beautiful in Tomo's hands. I had a 1974 sunburst, hardtail Stratocaster that I sold back in the early 1990s. Sometimes I wish I still had that guitar, as I love hardtail Strats.

    Some would say, just get a tele..but the HT Strat has a tone all it’s own.
    You lose some of the chime in the high end, but you get fullness and attack from a hardtail.
    Especially good for those funk riffs ie Nile Rodgers and The Hit Maker.

      @MagSonics Před 3 lety +4

      While an antique is defined as an object over 100 years old, there's no strict chronological definition of what makes something vintage. Typically, though, guitars around 30 years old or older fall into that category, and even newer instruments will often be labeled as such by sellers. In the wine world, vintage can refer to anything of a certain quality, and there are some who take the same perspective with guitars. On Reverb for example, we usually consider anything made prior to 1980 as being vintage.

    Nice guitar Tomo, your student is very fortunate! Just one question if I may... How do you get that beautiful clean sound you always use? I know you turn down your guitar volume to 8 but when I do that, my guitar starts sounding muddy no matter the EQ settings on my amp... Any tips?
    As always thanks for your videos, they are really inspiring!

      maybe a treble bleed?
      also, check the height of your pickups, maybe they are too low

      @@0000song0000 I've tried treble bleed but they didn't work for me, they made my fuzz face sound horrible 😖. I'm pretty sure Tomo's guitars don't have treble bleeds anyways... Checking the pickup height is a good idea, in fact I do have them set pretty low... Thanks for the tip! 🤟🏼

      Good question! Vintage pots wont change the tone that much. So generally my amp setting is very bright! Treble 6-7, Middle 5, bass 3-4
      Try that type setting? Thank you!
