  • The 650 build continues! This video covers the most recent mods/upgrades on the 650 build, the big ones being installing the new Hygear Pro-cc Linkage kit, the required 129" Gullwing bracket AND adapting the brand new 2024 Polaris long tail torsion springs from the Cross Country sleds to a 129" skid.

    In the process of doing the same thing to my 136 XCR. Polaris updated the 5144612 SHAFT SPRING ROLLER for the spring holder and changed the material to steel vs aluminum. These were loosening up and the springs were popping off.

      I had noticed the 24's looked to be a different material/slightly different overall. Thank you for this info, I've got a decent sized Polaris order going in soon and I'll be sure to add these too it 🥸

    Great videos. Subscribed. I'm on HCS and have seen your builds. Very well done

    One problem is that that linkage is made to speed up the shock motion at the bottom of the stroke,it's going to push right past the valving and into that hard after reservoir compression dampening,Need to get a standard type shock and do your usual revalve and adjustments 👍👍👍

    • @MunsonMotorsports
      @MunsonMotorsports  Před 9 měsíci

      The rear shock has been revalved for the linkage setup/motion ratio change, we'll see if it works well but if not the CrossCountry sled shock will be going in for sure

      Just do yourself a favor and get rid of the junk walker Evans shocks! It'll make your sled so much better. Exits or Fox shocks, valved for u Dual spring on FTS 👌

      @@kwmiked In the past I've gone with higher end KYB's or Elka stage 5's, but have some other reasonings for working with the Walkers this time around. So far they are actually working way better than expected, Andy did a great job with the valving. However I do still like the idea of swapping the rear shock out to a unit with a more traditionally mounted reservoir.

      @MunsonMotorsports I think if u tried Exit X2s u wouldn't bother with the Walkers, I just can't ride something that's so gittery in the small stuff where u shouldn't feel it. Single spring stiff rate is not for me. Ill take the tripples up front and dual in FTS hard to beat combo..If u ever head to northern Maine thru winter send a message

    When applying decals like those you could use decal applying solution like right on so you can put them on move them around and just squeegee it out

    • @MunsonMotorsports
      @MunsonMotorsports  Před 10 měsíci

      I've tried that in the past with a lot of different mixtures/solutions and never seemed to get it right, I always had issues with the solution taking forever to dry/not squeegeeing out entirely and the decal lifting when trying to remove the transfer film so I just got better at doing them dry haha. If you've got a solution recommendation I'm definitely open to trying something new again!

    • @dakodalubbert8065
      @dakodalubbert8065 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@MunsonMotorsports I’ve found that you have to squeegee it out then let it sit for 30 minutes then pull transfer tape

    Another awesome vid, my only suggestion is to turn down the background music a little, constantly having to lower the music then raise to hear the commentary, but again, awesome sled wrench vid and explanation. Keep em coming.

      Noted! I'll try knocking the time lapse audio down to 80% in the next couple and see how that does!

    Plan on putting this kit on a 25 XCR 9r 128.
    Since XCR don't have lightening holes in rails, do you think front spring mounts for long tail springs could be mounted even farther forward without issue compared to your 129?

    • @MunsonMotorsports
      @MunsonMotorsports  Před 3 měsíci

      You certainly should be able to mount them a bit farther forward, you'll just need to keep an eye on tail length and contact/clearance with the forward most, outside idler wheel mount. Wouldn't hurt to pick a few locations and see which one feels best! I should have a template available come fall for marking/drilling my location which is a similar relationship to the OEM spot/distance from torque arm as the 136 application.

    Do yourself a favor and order a set of bolts for an xcr if your picky like i am
    They did ship me a set once i sent them a ton of pictures showing them the issue but were not flange bolts

    • @MunsonMotorsports
      @MunsonMotorsports  Před 9 měsíci

      Good to know! I was JUST searching around earlier for options as McMaster didn't have what I wanted and I haven't received anything from Hygear yet. I found another supplier that has the shallow flange head bolts like the OEM XCR's, but for $1.22 each...downside need to order a pile of them to meet the minimum order cost haha.

    Hey great videos. Do you have the PNs for the 24' CC springs?

    • @MunsonMotorsports
      @MunsonMotorsports  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Are you looking for the light duty versions like I went with or the standards? If you're shortening them and adapting to a 129" you'll probably want to go light duty as they wind up being quite stiff after shortening and mounting the spring locater closer to the coil.

    • @BrettGalleher
      @BrettGalleher Před 8 měsíci

      I am looking fir the standards. I have an XCR 850 136" I might do the conversion on. I have a buddy who did it with a rail reinforcement on his 2023 600 Cross Country. @@MunsonMotorsports
