  • This phase of my process involves going through the "Stash" and shortlisting papers based on factors including colour scheme. Then I will go through the selected papers and weed them down further.
    I also look at what kind of botanicals might go with the papers. I just want to know that I have some options before I start. Picking specific papers comes later in the process.

    Hello, i have to say your gelli prints are beautiful! You are inspiring me to do collage though i am a wildlife painter. Your videos are very helpful, and i love the way you express yourself.

    Gorgeous stash. I wish we were neighbors! My stash is in under the bed storage bins made for blankets.

      Great storage idea! I will have to get some blanket bins for when I need more space in my studio.

    Hi! Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful work and your techniques! I am really enjoying your videos! I am also wondering what kind of tissue that you are printing on? The sheets seem very smooth, flat and strong.

      The tissue I am using is Art Spectra white tissue. It is acid-free and quite a bit stronger than dollar store tissue. I am in Canada and it is readily available here. Having said that, it is still delicate when wet. I have just ordered some of Carnival's Wet Strength tissue to try out. I find each new material brings new possibilities!

    I'm curious - why do you print on both sides?

    • @KitBellArtist
      @KitBellArtist  Před 3 měsíci

      Sometimes when I am "cleaning off" the background (negative prints) I grab a tissue with something on it already, often something faint. Sometimes a sheet that I don't see much value in. So basically recycling. Sometimes when I do that I get something quite interesting and it goes in the Stash.

    Do you have a video on how you make your cardboard stamps?

      I am working on a new series of videos which will include making my own tools. Included will be cardboard stamps as well as creating my own stencils. Stay tuned!

      Hi Alicia. This video is #5 of an 8 part series. I have uploaded #6 just now and am editing #7. The last video I have to record so it might be a few more days. Glad you are enjoying the videos!
