Nice cards Rick. Love the '33 Lefty O'Doul and '29 Babe Herman. Also love the backgrounds showing the old baseball fields. Did you know that there is a Little League field named for Herman in Glendale, CA? Great card of Joe D. and Bill too.
Thanks for the detailed info on Tattoo Orbit, especially the Wrigley ownership. I hadn't realized that. The two cards are very well centered. The Kashins are a stunningly advanced set for their day. Babe Herman always makes me grin, as he was a precursor to Dick Stuart - powerful bat but lame glove. That Bissonette was worth waiting for, the best condition of the bunch!
Love the Kashins. Babe Herman today would be a DH, hahaha. Yeah, the Bissonette is the card in best condition. I really like this set. Thanks for watching!
great pickups. happy for you that you were finally able to get that last tattoo orbit!
Nice cards Rick. I've never seen those Kashin's before. Those are really cool.
Thanks Mike! Yeah, I really like those Kashins. They're nice to look at.
I really love those Tattoo Orbits. There are 6 Cleveland cards and it took me three years to find the one that I have. Hopefully I can track down the others eventually (at reasonable prices). Congrats on finishing those.
Thanks Scott! The Indians have six cards as well? I'll keep my eyes open, but yeah, they're not cheap sometimes. Thanks for watching!
Hey Rick, i was looking forward to seeing the video where you showed the completion of these two sets. I never looked too hard at the Tattoo Orbit before until the last year or so. The contrast between the more subdued color against that bright background is eye catching.
Then you have the Kashin which is at the other end of the spectrum, but still visually appealing cards. I prefer the black and white cards that are simple vs the ornate ones that don’t feel as much like a baseball card to me. I like that Vance card a lot. I was watching someone recently who was talking about how he was a late bloomer and won most of his games in his 30s. I want to read more about him and may add a card of his.
What an amazing story centered around the Del card. Being it was owned by a former player whose son was selling the cards makes it that much cooler. You got to add a copy of the Hayes card to go with the Del. Then you have to put the link to this video with it. I am glad you showed it at the end. Such a great story that needs to live on.
I love it Rick. Congrats on knocking the last two sets off.
Terry, I feel the Tattoo Orbit's are a nice compliment if you collect Goudey and Diamond Stars. I am really liking the 30's cards cause of their colors. I wish they were cheaper to own,
I never knew the Dodgers were basically forced to take Vance if they wanted DeBerry. He went to win 190 games for Brooklyn and played with them until he was 42 years old. I really like the Kashin cards. I think the Bissonette card you found was in the best condition. Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing Rick. The tattoo orbit cards are very striking and under appreciated. I hope you finish the 1915 cracker jack, but I know how tough it is. Do you have the zack wheat? I'm working on the 1914 cracker jack and have 3 of the 6 including the wheat, but am missing the two high number cards. Reulbach and daubert. Those will be tough. Also just picked up my 2nd 52 topps high number from heritage last night. George shuba. Anyway, great video and I hope you start another team set like the T206
Hi Dan. Yeah, those Tattoo Orbit cards are nice. Not easy to find and some of the HOF cards I did find were VERY expensive. 1915 Cracker Jack, I need Wheat, Rucker and Otto Miller. I do have the two cards you need ironically. I see them around but the cards have skyrocketed the past few years. Cracker Jack is honestly one of my favorite sets. If I won the lottery, I'd love to own that set. it's just stunning.
Congrats on the Shuba. I look at those 1952 cards and the cheaper ones (Over $100) are always in pretty bad condition. I could see myself owning a few, but I'll never get the Robinson or Campy. They're just too much money.
I could see mysle potentially building the T202 set, but not going after all the variations. Just making sure I have every player on a card is what I would do. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, there are some short prints sprinkled in the kashin set. For me phil todt was the problem. Congrats on finishing your dodgers sets. 🎉
Ahhhh there are SP's? Okay, glad that's over with! What Red Sox sets do you do for the 20s?
@RickAcostaDodgerCardCollector all of them. Lots of exhibits in the 20s. American caramel in 21 and 22.
My contact info is on my about page. If you reach out to me, I'll send some info on the kashin set.
Nice cards Rick. Congrats on completing the set and kudos to Terry for the lending hand. That was a great story at the end. I have a few Kashins and would like to someday add a Tattoo Orbit card.
Thanks Chris. Terry doesn't text me, I never see the card. Glad that is out of the way. I like the Kashins. Glad, I don't collect the Yankees. Ruth and Gehrig both have cards in this set. Thanks for watching!
