@@muazzam786gmail as long as you take precautions retrieving the ecu file from the car and giving it to a mapper to alter the variables then use the same precautions putting the new file back on you should not have any issues as you will have the original file to put back on if you did have any
@@Nvt.off71 i have only tried it on my car volvo s40 1.6d and a golf mk4 1.9tdi with no problems. Golf was with kess and volvo with ktag. I wouldn't do much on new cars like 2010 and newer. Only with the original tools you can be sure.

So i have bought an Mk4 GTI and i want to start modding it. As i'm on budget, I was looking to be able to tune the car as I progress with the mods, and I don't fancy paying a tuner every 2-3 months just because I upgraded a few parts. So do you reckon I could tune the car myself using the Kess V2? I've tuned standalone ECU's before using TunerStudio and there are a bunch of tutorials, however the Titanium ECM doesn't seem to have that many. Or do you think I could get it remote tuned? I'm not sure how would that work with heavily modded car and that's why I want to tune it myself, local tuners are asking €350+ for a tune plus it's 2.5hr drive each way so I really want to do it myself.
The company I used have a standing charge of £25 to modify your original ecu file. I know they would be happy to help as I asked the same question myself. Postal remaps. Their WhatsApp number is in the comments of one of my mapping videos.
I’ve had a lot of messages and emails from viewers with regards to this. I even had a chap from America message me to thank me because he used postal remaps for his sons Ford Focus for a pop and bang map. They do a great job and I wouldn’t use anyone else. That will be the checksum. You can use winols to manually do that. If you used a clone kessv2 try using a newer software blog.obdii365.com/2021/01/14/free-download-ksuite-2-70-for-eu-or-china-kess-v2/
If it’s not listed under opel look at Vauxhall. If your struggling then do some googling to find out make and model of ecu then match it with other opel/Vauxhall cars. Then read your ecu save the file and then either alter it yourself or send it to an online tuner.

Just wondering that it can read faulty PCM and transfer all firmware to good second hand PCM unit from car yard? ...in that case i dont have to pay anyone for re-coding my keys and vin etc?
Not quite. You can save your setting from your pcm as a file on the laptop. Swap pcm’s then upload saved config file to new pcm. To do the firmware that’s a new ball game all together and something I haven’t looked at as The company I bought my cluster from remote accessed the cluster to reflash the firmware. @@AsadGamer Hi. The PC has nothing to do with this. I tried the reading with a Dimsport MyGenius which is a standalone device and it also took 37 minutes to read. So the Kess V2 works fine. The protocol is like this. Writing is much faster. It takes about 3 minutes.
@@AsadGamer If works fine on Delco E83 ECU. But it depends on what things change. For example when I try to change some torque curves the ecu crashes with the Kess V2 and I have to use MyGenius to rewrite some of the Dimsport files to recover the ECU. With the Kess V2 I can't do a recovery. Fails.
Is your laptop in airplane mode? If it’s a clone and you have tried to use it on the internet and update it you will have to look on CZcams on how to get the tokens back on

I used the kess to retrieve the file from the ecu. I then sent that file to a remapper who changed the variables and they sent me back the modified file and then I used the kess to put the file back on the car. Ecu titanium or winols are both software to modify your file

During the write process if you have a power issue with the car you could make the ecu unusable. If your laptop dies during the write process you just simply start again.
It installed first time after I had installed the correct drivers for my 7th generation i5 HP win10 laptop. I’ve read lots of people have issues but I had none.

Using kess to retrieve the files is the easy bit. You need a programme like ecm titanium to then open the ecu file to change the variables. There are thousands of tutorials on the internet for ecm titanium. I took the sensible option and once I got the file I sent it to a qualified mapper who did the hard work for me for a minimal fee. Have a look on CZcams for some ecm titanium tutorials. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 🙏
@@DriveWayRay I managed to delete the ID while saving the tuned file, says writing was completed but no difference in the car itself, postalremaps are very helpful, going to go through the process again today so 🤞 .
There is a risk like anything you do yourself on the car. Getting the file off the ecu and back on is the easy bit it’s finding an online mapper to change the variables to make your car go faster or pop and bang.
i dont know what the fake one is at... im using the genuine one. But as you said in the video, who's doing this is taking the risk to damage the ecu. :)
@@geowrgetudor I definitely knew the risks financially. The ST is my second car and the cost of an ecu clocks keys barrels and transponder second hand was less than £200. With that in mind if I had bricked the ecu I would of essentially also created a lot more content with removal and installation of all parts I just mentioned. I did enjoy doing it though just wish I had the cash to buy all original kess equipment as it is something I could definitely get into
No but I should off done. I had a fully charged spare battery and jump leads as well which would of took me a couple of minutes to use. I always use one now though
Kess v2 clone £60 map £25 = £85. Cheapest remapp near me was £165 they come to you. Garage remapp locally was £250. It was all about showing people it’s possible to do it yourself cheaper if you want to. I will do it again on my next car but that will only be £25 for a map as I’ll already own the kess 😁. Ive been using kess v2 clone 1year now, arround 200cars tuned with no problem. I bricked once but that was to try recovery and that worked aswell, people say clone not can do it 🤷♂️ but it worked for me. But the only thing i can say negative about kess clone is the components, they are cheap and 1day they will brake, so having 2 clones or a buddy with it is a must. 😁 also genuine programs for making files are the thing if you want complete file, not use the programs that follow with clone 😂🤷♂️ dont waste time on the shitty software 😎
It’s risky with fake or real tool albeit more risky with a fake one. I knew the risks and calculated the cost as minimal. This was not my daily in fact the previous 12 months of ownership I drove it a total of 1500 miles.
@@Thumper68 I’ll be honest if money wasn’t a problem I would of spent 2k on a legitimate kit. If people understand the risks of clone kits and financial implication if it all goes wrong then it could be worth it. I knew that but I used a legitimate mapper to change the variables as I want it to succeed. If it had failed there would of been lots of videos of me putting a used ecu in with barrels and transponder and whatever else I had to replce
@@DriveWayRay I totally understand we all looking for safest and cheapest way. I wouldn’t ever pay 2k if I could afford it or not honestly just don’t feel it’s worth it. The fact they can make clones that can work for 60 tells me the hardware in the new one doesn’t cost 2k. Of course your paying for little more then just the hardware so I understand 3-500 but that’s where I stop. Maybe that’s why I prefer my 68 Camaro I just build my own hp ;)
Always go to the clone way is the safest way my humpty Dumpty programmers if brick 🧱 it brick your second hand ECU not your stock ECU 🤓😁 never ever play with stock ECU if get brick you are done one thing is the great message is you can collect your ECU file at a safe device and cloud file lockers so Incase your ECU get brick you can clone your send hand ECU. But as long stock ECU is fine keep it safe and play around with a second hand ECU from the scrap yard .

Stage 1 is about £100- £350, why would u run the risk?.... remappers have insurance to cover them if they brick ur ecu...

A few variables like operating system, laptop cpu and ram, ecu read and write speed. As long as it’s reading it correctly your fine

You will need something like winols to change the variables kessv2 is a read/write of many different males and models of ecu

During the write process if you have a power issue with the car you could make the ecu unusable. If your laptop dies during the write process you just simply start again.

It installed first time after I had installed the correct drivers for my 7th generation i5 HP win10 laptop. I’ve read lots of people have issues but I had none.

I have good background at my work such as turning carburetor system( xu7 1997 engine) to injector system ( xum) with changing wire system , ecu boch m744 installing and remap, portpolich headsylender, Changes in gearbox coefficients , dragtime 13s to 9/7. and also turnning peujeot 206 nfu to rc ew10j4s turbo such as changing wire system, internal engine changed to forge, macking headers for installing turbo, macking handcraft intake manifold, macking 2/5 inc stainless steel exhaust system, installing adjustable ecu force sr8, installing fulepump aftermarcket and regulator , installing watermetanol system.
And turnning mazda b3 8v engine to b5 16v turbo such as changing wire system, internal engine changed to forge, macking headers for installing turbo, macking handcraft intake manifold, macking 2/5 inc stainless steel exhaust system, installing adjustable ecu force sr8, installing fulepump aftermarcket and regulator, installing watermetanol system.
Now i want to provide kess programmer for ecu remap
but here in iran i can not provide it.
Please help me about it and tell me what do i need to do

Using kess to retrieve the files is the easy bit. You need a programme like ecm titanium to then open the ecu file to change the variables. There are thousands of tutorials on the internet for ecm titanium. I took the sensible option and once I got the file I sent it to a qualified mapper who did the hard work for me for a minimal fee. Have a look on CZcams for some ecm titanium tutorials. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 🙏

Did you email just the ECU file or ID & ECU file to the mapper not sure if they need both?
Just the ecu file. My understanding with regards to the id file is to make sure there is a stable connection between laptop-kessv2-ecu
@@DriveWayRay I managed to delete the ID while saving the tuned file, says writing was completed but no difference in the car itself, postalremaps are very helpful, going to go through the process again today so 🤞 .

There is a risk like anything you do yourself on the car. Getting the file off the ecu and back on is the easy bit it’s finding an online mapper to change the variables to make your car go faster or pop and bang.

The software is 9 years old. so be careful with fake kess guys :)
I’ve just been reading about that. How different developers have carried on improving it and in fact it’s now at 2.80.
i dont know what the fake one is at... im using the genuine one. But as you said in the video, who's doing this is taking the risk to damage the ecu. :)
@@geowrgetudor I definitely knew the risks financially. The ST is my second car and the cost of an ecu clocks keys barrels and transponder second hand was less than £200. With that in mind if I had bricked the ecu I would of essentially also created a lot more content with removal and installation of all parts I just mentioned. I did enjoy doing it though just wish I had the cash to buy all original kess equipment as it is something I could definitely get into

Sadly I didn’t which was a noob mistake. Definitely use some sort of stabiliser to be safe

No but I should off done. I had a fully charged spare battery and jump leads as well which would of took me a couple of minutes to use. I always use one now though

Kess v2 clone £60 map £25 = £85. Cheapest remapp near me was £165 they come to you. Garage remapp locally was £250. It was all about showing people it’s possible to do it yourself cheaper if you want to. I will do it again on my next car but that will only be £25 for a map as I’ll already own the kess 😁. Ive been using kess v2 clone 1year now, arround 200cars tuned with no problem.
I bricked once but that was to try recovery and that worked aswell, people say clone not can do it 🤷♂️ but it worked for me.
But the only thing i can say negative about kess clone is the components, they are cheap and 1day they will brake, so having 2 clones or a buddy with it is a must. 😁 also genuine programs for making files are the thing if you want complete file, not use the programs that follow with clone 😂🤷♂️ dont waste time on the shitty software 😎

Risky with fake tool
It’s risky with fake or real tool albeit more risky with a fake one. I knew the risks and calculated the cost as minimal. This was not my daily in fact the previous 12 months of ownership I drove it a total of 1500 miles.

@@Thumper68 I’ll be honest if money wasn’t a problem I would of spent 2k on a legitimate kit. If people understand the risks of clone kits and financial implication if it all goes wrong then it could be worth it. I knew that but I used a legitimate mapper to change the variables as I want it to succeed. If it had failed there would of been lots of videos of me putting a used ecu in with barrels and transponder and whatever else I had to replce
@@DriveWayRay I totally understand we all looking for safest and cheapest way. I wouldn’t ever pay 2k if I could afford it or not honestly just don’t feel it’s worth it. The fact they can make clones that can work for 60 tells me the hardware in the new one doesn’t cost 2k. Of course your paying for little more then just the hardware so I understand 3-500 but that’s where I stop.
Maybe that’s why I prefer my 68 Camaro I just build my own hp ;)

Always go to the clone way is the safest way my humpty Dumpty programmers if brick 🧱 it brick your second hand ECU not your stock ECU 🤓😁 never ever play with stock ECU if get brick you are done one thing is the great message is you can collect your ECU file at a safe device and cloud file lockers so Incase your ECU get brick you can clone your send hand ECU. But as long stock ECU is fine keep it safe and play around with a second hand ECU from the scrap yard .

@@idirh.1716It was removed from another unused vehicle, but the ecu is intact, play with it, I bought it and I'm applying my imagination.
