    I like the progression and its really nice to listen as well
    I'm finding after a while my fingers are going to the notes automatically and I'm hearing the next phrase before it starts
    The last part is gonna take a while

    Hows this
    Played the notes anticlock wise slowly unti I had them under my fingers without really thinking to much
    Then put on the metronome to 90 and kept going
    Then speed up when capable
    Gives the embroucher a workout 😳

    I'm 60 years old. I've combined a life as a musician with that of a builder. I always wanted my own recording studio as I composed and produce music. In 2005 I returned to university to obtain a degree as I hadd4opped out of university then conservatoire in the 1980s without finishing the course. I was awarded an MA in Compositional Studies in 2007. I then taught piano, guitar, clarinet and sax for the next decade. I mention all of this because I was watching how you play the note Bb. I've received some excellent clarinet tuition over the years but never really had a saxophone lesson. I always play side Bb (A with the side key). I rarely play long Bb (both index fingers) and never play one finger Bb. It seems you have adopted a great slide technique to incorporate this Bb. Is this method much adopted or have you made this your own? I'm going to look into this a bit more. Great site BTW.

    • @OnlineSaxAcademy
      @OnlineSaxAcademy  Před 3 měsíci

      Hi Alan, on saxophone the default fingering for Bb is with the first finger in left hand holding down the little key (known as the biss key). You generally use this all the time except for when you're moving from Bb to B natural. However, I quite like the more blended sound so I will often use this, though strictly speaking it's considered 'incorrect' technique, but I've also seen loads of other pro sax players use it too. I hope that helps!

    Love the lesson but… when you do the minor scale/ arpeggio exercise the sheet music says your starting in Cm but the sax starts at minor third up from C…Ebm and continues through the cycle. I’m sitting at a keyboard. Am I missing something?😊

    Can anyone tell me what that square shaped thing is on the note? It’s not a sharp symbol or a flat symbol and I’m wildly new to this. Like don’t understand how to read sheet music kind of new.
