    This is one of the best documentaries I’ve ever watched about China and America. No politics, no trying to throw shit at each other, only people getting together and having fun.

    More horns, fewer guns. Be friends and make beautiful music together. Well done Pershing's Own and PLA Bands. You are great diplomats for China and United States. And music is the one common language. Well done. Bravi!

      Tell it to the people who are actually suffering due to the Chinese government's abuse of their human rights.

    Ten years has passed since this historic trip. I hope the world can heal from the caustic effect of the pandemic so the current band can experience a life-changing experience like the one we had.

      Prefer to play music in theaters, rather than fight in battlefields.

      @@canpek545 obviously that's what the Premiere military bands do. If you watch the documentary, you'll see that.

    35:07 While the tam-tam is Chinese in origin, it is commonplace in the concert band repertoire nowadays.

    Why does the Army need a band? Why doesn't the Army have artists such as sculptors and painters?

    • @Phobos_Anomaly
      @Phobos_Anomaly Před 7 lety +4

      Brooklyn Skinny Pigs Because music is a way of boosting the moral of the troops. It's showy and boisterous. Sculptors and painters are not. I'm not saying this is correct or right, but that's the way it is.

    • @Phobos_Anomaly
      @Phobos_Anomaly Před 7 lety +5

      Bands have been a part of Armies for thousands of years, it's a tradition that is unlikely to change.

      Brooklyn Skinny Pigs in the old days, when battle line troopers are the major way of fighting, army uses drum and music to control the pace of the marching and keep battle line a staight line, since the band created. In the old day, band marching in front of everyone, and face enemy bullet first.
