Save Sixth Schedule! Massive Public Rally!

On 27th May 2024, a public rally was organised by Sixth Schedule Protection Committee in Maibang, Dima Hasao. The people of Dima Hasao demands:
1. Withdrawal of Order No. DH/RD/MGNREGA/GPDR-1183/2019-20/64:
We demand the immediate withdrawal of this order which introduced Panchayati Raj system in Dima Hasao.
2. Implementation of Guwahati High Court Order (PIU/13/2019):
We call for the immediate implementation of the court order directing NCHAC to frame necessary rules and to conduct our autonomous council elections.
3. Protection Against the 125th Constitution Amendment Bill, 2019:
We strongly oppose the amendment bill that threatens our autonomy under the Sixth Schedule and demand its reconsideration.
