      And not even close to being top 3. I mean he is number 4 which is very close to 3 but he is so far behind those 3, he never stood a chance to surpass any one of them. They are truly top 3 of all time.

      @@mishagelenava2962 take into account his injury problems as well, and the insane pressure of being a British player (henman had the same issue) trying to win a slam after so many years. The fact he has 2 wimbys, a US Open, back to back Olympic golds and almost carried GB to a Davis Cup trophy is incredible.

    All these elite ATP players are so nice and humble guys, friendly to each other but such great competitors on the court. Roger is the man, the legend. Great family man as well. His friendship with Rafa, who happened to be his greatest rival transcends the sport. Rafa is so great and humble too. I remember when journalists asked young Rafa if he felt like number one, the best player in the world and he said "No, I feel like number two. Closer to number 3, than number one". Or when he was asked if there was anything that could stop him. They expected him to say that he was unstoppable but he said "Maybe Djokovic tomorrow". Novak is fun loving, always engaging with fans and joking with journalists or screaming "This is Sparta" with Gerard Butler(who's apparently a Scottish guy who's fan of Novak, not Andy). Del Potro might be the nicest guy not only in tennis but in general. Andy is a great guy as you can see and there are so many more. Tennis is really a sport for gentlemen.

      May I please enquire how so, Rahul? Don't get me wrong, as Andy was the world #1 for quite some time & he won 3 'grand slams' (from 9 finals), he was clearly a great player but surely when you mentioned this "pantheon" of men's tennis greats, you're not suggesting that an Australian Open title (or even 2) to add to his 3 'slam' victories would have placed Murray alongside, or even anywhere near the 20 each of Djokovic (& I'm hoping 21 in a few hours from now?!), Federer & Nadal?!
      How are 4 or 5 major titles even remotely similar to 20 of them?! Edberg & Becker were my two favourite players when I was a kid & they each won 6 majors but I certainly don't even place them within the same stratosphere as 'The Triumvirate' - plus there are 38 men's players who have won more than 3 majors & another 18 who won 3 majors, the same as Andy.

      A grandslam is just a single event and there are 4 of them, so if you win all four, you have 4 grandslams, and if you win any of them four times, you're still a 4-time grandslam winner.

    • @trimpole
      @trimpole Před 5 lety +7

      That's incorrect, A true grandslam is in fact, winning all four of the Majors - ( Australian, French, Wimbledon, and the US open ) in the same calendar year. Only Rod Laver has a achieved this, twice. Federer. Nadal, Djokovic, and Agassi have what has been termed a "career grand slam" - having won all four during their career but not in succession. Agassi and Nadal are the only two to have what has been termed a "career Golden slam" which includes an Olympic Gold Medal in Singles. FYI - Nadal also has an Olympic Gold in Doubles.

      He's been dominant on clay for over a decade,so no matter what happens this season or any future season he will absolutely,definitely stay THE KING OF CLAY

      If he loses every single match for the rest of his career he IS still the king of clay and one of the best players to ever hold a racket. He already has some crazy records... Whatever happens, those records won't be erased.
