      Mike the biggest mountain zone under water was one that surprised me. With the estuaries are really helpful because not only filter the harmful substances, but also prevent the rising of water levels of the sea 😮

    The Earth doesn't need humanity to take "care" of it,it just needs us to stop making a mess all over it. The Earth was here long before we appeared,it'll be here long after we are gone.

    If a floating piece of ice melts, it would increase the sea level by absolutely nothing. Doesn’t matter the size. Water expands by 20% when frozen, that 20% is above the water.
    Fill a glass with ice, fill the glass completely with water so the ice floats above the edge. See if it spills when it melts.

    • @chrischeetham1652
      @chrischeetham1652 Před 5 měsíci +2

      Right? There are many examples in the form of abandoned highways, railways, or even buildings that when left alone it doesn't take long at all for the earth to reclaim that space. Even asphalt is broken up and swallowed by nature in a surprisingly short period of time. Within only a year or 2 a road that was once traveled daily by thousands of vehicles can become impassable. A few small cracks allowing a few small seeds to fall in to the dirt below can start a chain reaction that has the earth essentially swallowing any manmade materials, 20 years from now could potentially become a thriving forest teeming with life as it likely was once upon a time. The earth is always going through various cycles and changes, people make a big deal about these things when they are unfavorable for the plans of mankind, but to the earth itself, it's merely business as usual. Yes, man has definitely played a negative role having adverse effects on the planet for sure, but rising temperatures, extreme cold, rivers drying up where water was once plentiful, dry areas with years and years of little rain and perpetual drought later being bombarded with so much rain the land gives way and thus a brand new landscape is born, plates shift, ocean levels rise and fall, erosion changes the coastlines of earths continents, continents even slowly migrate, this is all just the normal transformations our planet has experienced for millions or billions of years, and will likely continue to experience for millions or billions to come. It's all just the life cycle of a planet such as Earth, much like the stars have life cycles of their own they are constantly slowly going through. I believe also that if mankind were ever at a point where it was causing more harm to the earth than it could possibly survive (besides a nuclear event since that would be instantaneous and not something the earth could detect coming at some point), but things like taking too many of earths plant life and not leaving any to grow in its place and working towards an essentially barren planet like mars, or waters are becoming so polluted that 90% of the species of life they are home to die off in a series of mass extinctions, same with land species with no plants or forests to live in ....I think the earth has the same instinctual will to live that most animals possess, and if it's existence is threatened, I think it would find a way to rid itself of the problem in order to try to heal itself and stay alive.

      Earth is a geologically active planet made of rock. It’s not a living organism at all. Earth’s seismic activity is on a scale we currently cannot control however technology is being developed to relieve pressure from volcanos magma chambers which will prevent eruptions etc. So on some level we could control certain aspects.

    • @MichaelC-to7uz
      @MichaelC-to7uz Před 9 dny

      No, according to the standard definition of "living organism," Earth is not considered a living thing; it does not meet the criteria for life like reproduction, growth, or independent movement, although some scientists theorize that Earth can be viewed as a complex "living system" through the Gaia hypothesis, which suggests that the planet regulates itself through the interactions of all living things and its environment, acting somewhat like a single organism.

    We still don't know everything. The deepest parts of oceans and their wildlife are still unexplored.
    The erosion of coral reefs is called bleaching. There are many projects worldwide to build new artificial sites for coral reefs to colonize.

    • @bunnyadams353
      @bunnyadams353 Před 5 měsíci +1

      And then there is Australia, which has one of the best and biggest coral reefs in the world. Our stupid government allows huge companies to mine right next to the reef, killing it.

  • @ckoolthings
    @ckoolthings Před 6 měsíci

    What you left out is high density housing and waste dumped via pipes into the oceans. In Ft Lauderdale the three closest reefs were killed by piping waste into the ocean . Tahiti s lagoon was polluted the same way. Building on shorelines and flood plains instead of camping on them means loss of property and life when earths natural cooling and heating cycles chages water levels. Mid century ice refreeze as evidenced in the last 400 yrs.. Mexico city and the Mississippi river are low on water and California is deluged . Its solar cycle 25 and it drives weather on earth . Also the binary transit of Venus when it occurs aprox every 108 years . Do not sweat the temporary heat winter is coming over a long period.

    With respect, ....rivers FLOW into the sea, they do NOT EVAPORATE.

  • @LifesGuardian
    @LifesGuardian Před 6 měsíci +3

    Interesting that is crucial to know where these rivers are to find out how fast and how much ice is melting because of "climate change." Not if the ice is melting because of so-called "man made" climate change. As if it's a forgone conclusion. It's not. Not even close. The earth heats and cools in predictable and entirely natural cycles. Unless someone cares to explain how SUV's and private jets were around way before mankind.
    Should we be good stewards if the earth? Sure. Did that mean I should live in a mud hut while China and India chuck trash in the oceans at an obscene rate? Call me less than convinced. Especially since the leasing advocate for green policy, and inventor of the internet, AL Gore became filthy rich by selling "carbon credits" meaning he somehow made businesses produce less carbon when people have him money. That sounds totally legit, right?
