I want a smart case that has a back like the book keyboard case , that kickstand really is perfect for holding a tabled in landscape mode.
As for the keyboard, it can somewhat be replaced with wireless keyboard with a trackpad

I just received my S9 Ultra with the the Book Cover Keyboard. Will it make scratches on screen over time? Is it worth to buy the Smart Book Cover for that reason, and use the one with keyboard only when necessary?
@luisbaratamarques2859 no. I have a tab S6 with such case, carry it with me daily and there are no scratches.
The plastic is much softer than tempered glass

Yeah it's funny, there's often some story/explanation at the start of other's videos to tell people why they are reviewing a Samsung product when in reality like you said they're just cashing in on the views. Not saying I'm not cashing in on the views because I am too, but I'd rather use the products and just share what's going on with the devices/products rather than follow some storyline/narrative to keep viewers hooked. This video and all of my video's goals are to help people learn about the products and help make the best buying decision rather than tuning into 50 other channels with vlogs, reading of spec sheets, and minimal actual real life usage. There's a few real reviewers like Flossy and Lisa from Mobiletechreviews but I'm just glad some people can benefit from the vids

ordinaryalan That origami cover was made to be used as a typical tablet case/cover that’s why no keyboard was involved. That empty spot isn’t for keyboard use. Thought that was obvious. If you got both u can easily switch between the two. For a tablet need or a PC like need with the Book Cover Keyboard.
Look around online for origami covers. I remember I wanted a typing and drawing angle on my iPad and literally no cover supported that except for one origami one made by ESR. Literally every angle and very sturdy

$350 is a joke.
Not really that's market price for a 14 inch tablet keyboard case extension. If you can afford a tablet that costly, you shouldn't have a problem paying for the keyboard
@messicomps344 that's a dumb argument. Products should be cheaper. They're all made in sweatshops at the end of the day.
Blame Apple I guess, they got away with their $350 keyboard so Samsung following suit. Maybe grab another case for the short term and wait for a sale on it since I'm sure it will drop to $200 soon enough

Can you do a little more comparison between the book cover (with trackpad) in terms of the experince of using the keyboard and trackpad? I heard that especially the trackpad wasnt that good on the s8 book cover, did they do any improvements on those area?

Does the spen cover really removable or is it just brute force removing it? Update: it's actually in the user's manual. It's removable by design.

Great video, thank you. I wanted to know if the accessories for the tab s9 ultra are backwards compartible. My tab s9+ had the same issue, especially the back cover shows even more difference. The s9 cameras are bigger, and the S Pen charging spot is also different, so the back covers are not backwards compatible .

the slim case being $100 with preorder is a pretty great deal. i wish there was a kickstand, but this works well enough
Wait until you use it for a couple of days. It sucks. You can't remove the keyboard from the case, and when trying to use it, it falls off the back since the magnets are only on halfway to accommodate the fold.
I'm curious if the privacy screen attaches and works properly with the Tab S8 Ultra. I'm interested in getting the Papernote screen for mine.

I was thinking of getting the smart book cover first before getting the book cover keyboard down the line. Since both of these cases come with two pieces, are you able mix and match them? Like could I use the Keyboard with the origami style kickstand or use the traditional kickstand with the normal front piece?
i think you should be able to since the back is attached to separate magnets
On my Tab S6 - I found if I needed a keyboard I was just using my laptop. The keyboard just became annoying and 99% was taken off of the tablet. With the S9 I decided to get the book cover, mainly due to it being free when pre-ordering but I also like that it can be vertical.

I have both the Samsung standard keyboard cover and the book cover (without the keyboard). Great products and definitely recommend ... awesome and quality!
I do experience that it easily leaves finger prints on the covers. I use the cleaning solution / sprays for spectacle / sunglass lenses you buy at optomitrists. I wipe with a microfibre rag ... easily removes all marks or finger prints!!
In South Africa you get a Samsung 45w fast charger and the keyboard cover for free should you buy / order from the Samsung online shop until end September. Should you buy somewhere else and you go online with your S9 Ultra onto Samsung members you can claim the charger and keyboard cover as a free gift ... have to provide Imei nr, upload invoice, etc.

I'm ready to refuse shipment and ask for my money back when I realized paying for the slim case was my "reward" for ordering early. Samsung won't allow me credit to apply for the $350 case they gave away last year. They are really squeezing the customers on their pricing.

The smart bookcover with the samsung Bluetooth keyboard called the smart keyboard trio 500 can be had for $130 total for the s9 plus. That's what I am going to go with. That little keyboard is pretty slick. It is fully compatible with Samsung tablets and phones and has its own battery, so you can put it anywhere on your workspace and use it. Even on your lap.
Where I'm from Sg, the keyboard cover comes with the device as a free pre-order gift along with a 45w charger

The one with trackpad has 100% back light. I own one and you can change between 3 different modes for the backlight (low to bright)
Hello there. Was wondering if you can answer a couple questions for me on these cases.
I just got my s9 Ultra and I mainly use it to do social media edits but I also use it as my music source. Was wondering if the first cover ($300+ cover) would be able to be placed up against lets say something magnetic without the keyboard. For example let's say I have some neodymium magnets up on a wall somewhere and I want my tablet to hang from it so I can play music while I'm cooking. The other question is the same question but on the one that has a microfiber feel to it. Same scenario (without the soft part latched on), will it hang if I have enough magnets?
I know these are a bit odd questions and I can just use the stand but let's just say I'm not going to use the stands to place them on a countertop because there is no countertop for whatever reason. Please and thank you. 🙂 Also, great video explaining use cases, ha.

It seems like they didn't think about making the book cover keyboard kickstand work in portrait mode ?
can you tilt the tablet forward when docked or only backwards?
Can you use the smart cover in combination with just the keyboard part of the book cover keyboard?
I don't think you mentioned this, the back part of the kickstand does not fit the S9 Ultra. So the bottom keyboard part will technically fit but the back kickstand part won't. So either way people are going to need to upgrade, or at least buy a different type of kickstand

Are they backwards compatible with S8 line? I got an S8+ and miss the smart cover from my S6 lite, bought one from aliexpress but the magnets are so bad. Can't find the official S8+ accessory in Brazil anymore, only the S9+
can the privacy screen be used with any of the official cases? I think I would like to spend the extra $ for the full keyboard but could really get used to having a non-dedicated screen protector.
Does the origami book cover have different angles on landscape mode? I have a s6 lite with the samsung case and I use the various angles a lot specially when I'm watching a movie or something. It's really important.

The keyboard looks nice, but I felt it was too expensive for the one I got for my Tab S6, which is a lot cheaper than those, though I did buy it. Maybe it's my PC gamer brain kicking in, but for that price I'd be looking at a very high quality mechanical keyboard with extra functionality for that price and for the mechanical keyboard I've got on my PC, I paid way less...not that I am saying I expect a mechanical keyboard with a tablet (because it'd be silly) but they tend to be more expensive when like-for-like with membrane keyboards. I'm not sure what makes these so expensive. It's something I expect from Apple not Samsung.
I've found myself a foldable cheap Chinese brand keyboard with trackpad and it does the job. And I'll probably get an unofficial case. I'd love official, because I thought they were great on my S6 but not for that kind of price. XD

In Aust we get the keyboard slim for free if we preorder the tablet - unfortunately it’s not the keyboard cover with the trackpad - we have to pay full price if we want that one

Really? I just bought the tablet and no offerings :(
Also, you didnt have to pre order the s8 to get that more expensive case. I didn't pre order mines and the deal was still offered months after. Honeslty, the case is not worth 300 dolllars and I think they know that, which is why they kept offering the deal periodically.
