I'd honestly pay for this in the state it is in now.
Me too 👍
Right!!! I was going try hard trying to get on the beta because what I saw already was perfect hahah (and I have never wanted to join a beta)
This could potentially be a game changer for those of us that fly exclusively in VR. You don't have to get out of VR to deal with writing down instructions, you can just readback from the dialog window! And I get to talk for real and not have to deal with key binding or reaching for the mouse while trying to hover a helicopter. Love this.
Assuming the window is visible in VR
This developer is going to make a lot of money if they deliver a good product. This is incredible stuff.
I hope he’s not greedy and selfish and ivercharges
Dude, this just gets better with every video. Could we ask you to do a GA flight from a smaller but still controlled field starting out on the GA ramp? Thanks for all the great content. This is the first add on in a long time that I am really excited about. ATC has always been my #1 immersion killer.
+1 on that, Jeff!
Gonna be handy flying this around in GA as well! so excited
can you please do a VFR flight on a small plane?
Thanks for trimming all the fat on this video, last one was kind of all over the place lol. This one makes for a much better viewing experience from you! I mean that in the nicest, most kind way possible by the way.
Your channel and content is always a great and informative time, so just throwing a tad of constructive critique in there :)
Love ya man! Can't wait for this to come out someday.
Take care
Awesome work on this program, for atc and MSFS in general, it would be fantastic to have some basic structure for requesting de-icing control if the weather variables are ripe for the formation of Ice on the aircraft surfaces before takeoff. Many if not most northern international airports in North America have dedicated deIcing facilities with specific laneways to use based on the aircraft type. It would be nice to have use the facilities to speak to the "Ice Man" on their own frequency and be routed to a specific open laneway on the deicing pad ! I think that alone could be an additional add-on for ATC, going beyond the usual!
Thanks, looking very promising! The vectors you got for the approach were pretty funky though. They cleared you direct to AGANE on a heading of 320, then cleared you for the approach -- how are you supposed to get turned around onto your inbound course once you get to AGANE? In the real world, it would have been more realistic to keep you on a heading of 340, then vector you onto a base leg (e.g. heading 250), then give you a 30 degree intercept (i.e. heading 190). Hope this gets cleaned up before release.
Mike, that video was perfect, I’ll admit, I was a little critical of your first video. But you hit this one out of the ball park. Can’t wait for the next one…great job
Great video. Thanks. Would have liked to have the Beyond ATC up on the display but still great video.
Looks fantastic overall, but there are a couple things I’m hoping they tweak before launch: when getting the ATIS at an airport like Spokane, which doesn’t have digital ATIS, you would be hearing a normal human voice reading the weather, not the heavily computerized one.
I’ve noticed in multiple videos so far ATC gives a “call when ready for descent” instruction prior to arrival. I’ve never once in my life heard real life ATC say something like that. If they want you to descend when you’re ready, they’ll just say “descend via the CHINS5 arrival”, which already gives the pilot the discretion to start the descent when they want.
Call when ready for descent is normal in Europe for example, where descend via STAR Is almost never seen. I guess it would be cool for it to vary by region
@@ndmz903 The devs have said that they want the phraseology to be accurate to the location’s aviation authority, so yeah, hopefully they can focus on issues like this.
Awesome.
I think that will make people get better on English aviation for IVAO, VATSIM and others.
You are killing it with this content! Keep it coming!
As a current ATC of 15 years, this is going to be bad as for the sim, especially in VR!
Wow! It looks soo good!
The West for pushback, perhaps they have a one-way system in place in there to aid the flow of traffic?
one of my favorite times of the evening, but on the opposite coast, near my house KRKD enjoy our coast!
Loved it
Spokane International Airport that is my home airport. Nice to see someone actually making content in spokane
Looks very promising. I currently use pilotedge. As a real-world airline pilot I'm always looking for the most realistic experience in the simulator. A couple of items to help you is one always turn your transponder on right prior to Taxi after push back. In the real world this is required now at all airports. Also I have flown in and out of Spokane many times in the real world and the pushback requirement is a courtesy there. Normally ATC does not tell you to push a certain direction. So that must be a feature in this communication software.
Yeah I was surprised they a) controlled the ramp and b) didn't bitch at him for having his transponder off until late in his taxi.
Really looking forward to this. I like the interaction with ATC, but haven’t particularly enjoyed vatsim.
Man, can't wait to get a copy. It'll be interesting to see how it does when vectored off an arrival to an approach surrounded by high terrain.
terrain, pull up, terrain
When lining up Final. Set your runway heading and go around altitude ready for autopilot.
One of the best inventions for simulation, I just wish they could remove those beeping sounds when sending an audio, it breaks the realism a bit
I see this as a $100 program easily.
I’ll pay it 👍
Don't jinx it!
@@themorethemerrier281 yes, I was sort of thinking that myself after making that comment 😂.
damn! 2ed thx overkill love your vids about beyond ATC is VFR support ready to test?
Not yet :) but check out the interview video tomorrow for details
Well done- Can't wait to be able to use it --- even as a Beta ;-)
Definitely amazing!
This looks amazing and Thankyou for providing these videos. However I can’t find the answer to a major question and was wondering as you are testing the program, if it’s possible you could test the use of this program with GA aircraft.
I appreciate the vast majority here enjoy heavy metal, and I must admit so do I, but I also fly a LOT of GA aircraft, and every atc program upto now neglects this side of flying, preferring to concentrate on heavy metal. Which I get,as that’s what the majority of users will be using it for.
HOWEVER if this works with GA as well as it does with heavy metal, that truly would be something spectacular.
I’m sure I’m not the only GA pilot here.
Please do more beyondatc videos!
Very cool, I'm sure it will be much better than Pilotedge out of the box. Did you Ask to get vectored for training or does the system just do things randomly on each flight? will there be training missions feature with the software to practice certain situations or are you just at the mercy of the software on each flight much like we are in real life, never know what ATC will throw at us. Thanks
Cool! Hmm, I wonder how it does with GA?
I could be wrong, but I recall a video you did with Pilot2ATC where you were vectored on approach to an airport, I think, was quite awhile ago. Also, audio was a bit strange. After the first few minutes, there was dead silence from the plane with only your voice and ATC coming through.
It's looking great so far. As a long time Pilot2ATC user, here is my main question - will this ATC work with ground traffic? I know they can't control the AI planes in the sim, but would I get hold short instructions for taxiing aircraft crossing my path? hold short when a plane is landing or line up and wait as another plane takes off? right now that's my biggest issue with P2ATC.
Wonder how well you can respond on a cold and bumpy snowy busy night coming into Kennedy.
Thanks for the showcase. I fly VATSIM a lot and found the default ATC in MSFS2020 very off putting. This is something that I think I may use offline flying. Interested to see where this product goes. I hope the blip audio notifications can be silenced. S!
There is an option to turn that sound off.
I also got vector for my runway and ATC said turn left heading 230 maintain this altitude and report when established but the heading is far to airport, can't even establish with localizer lol
What are you using to transmit, mapped button on the controller or keyboard? Thanks for keeping us updated on this program. This is going to be fun....
Button on my throttle :) and you're welcome
Will this work in VR also?
I am interested how it deals with heavy traffic situations. If you fly only, is the ai aware of other pilots?
Just wondering why the last two airports you flew out of had TFRs.
Did you file the flight plan in the msfs flight planner?
can you do an outside of the plane looking at it while landing and turning on this ?
This was cool, gives me some hope that it can direct AI traffic when the player is about. Any word on that? Or is AI still "on rails" as it were?
I think it's compatible with the popular traffic mods (and perhaps also stock MS traffic) so it should direct them around too... how well the instructions translate to AI actions remains to be seen, but I have good hope.
I wish someone would do a video like this for P2ATC.. I think this prog seems fantastic. I hope its a reasonable price and not too long away...
Lots of CZcams videos on it. But after beyond comes out I am trashing Pilot2ATC no where near the quality of BeyondATC.
@@Mrv1960 Yes there are quite a lot on P2ATC but I found many drive me to despair in the time they take to explain anything... e.g very hard to find an easy explanation to add additional voices to it.. But I do agree with you it seems to make it so much easier to learn Beyond ATC.
How about VFR ATC, if I fly in USA without flight plan, can this software work, say request clearance into the different US airspace, etc? Thanks
Any idea whether it'll handle restricted areas?
The lateral vectoring looked like it worked fine, but how was the descent in terms of putting you at the correct altitude/track miles for your final approach and does it give speed constraints?
I was directed to the initial fix and to the required altitude :)
Cool Video! Very cool software.
Do you know if you can turn off not native speakers from ATC. As a non native speaker myself, I find it sometimes twice as hard to understand atc in terms of speed and dialect.
I have the same problem. I hope there will be something like a "speed"knob.
There is a bit of randomness in how they talk (speed), and currently its like 90% native with 5%/5% other based on location (so in US 90% American 5% Hispanic and and 5% Indian accents). Of course all subjecr to change. Dev has been great with community feedback.
Can't wait to have this. It would be really cool if it could work together with VATSIM somehow, for when a VATSIM ATC is offline. Would be nice if VATSIM controllers could hand you off to beyond ATC and vice versa.
Dude, you gotta get yourself the Honeycomb Bravo so you don’t have to deal with the mouse and actually use dials to operate the MCP.
5:17 It would be neat if it said “point” (like .9, .8, .75) when telling you to contact Ground. Like 99% of Ground frequencies start with 121 - at least in the US. Maybe that’s too specific for that software engine.
Why did you not install something like fsltl?
Are you using a button on your yoke to communicate with atc?
On my throttle yes :) I use a HOTAS these days lol
Time to move on from P2AtC and ProAtc/SR. I have both of those and they are truly lacking when compared to Beyond ATC. This thing is a game changer. Can’t imagine what this program will be like on release and subsequent updates!!! Looks amazing already in its state.
The E-Mail for P2A comes back as undeliverable, so I was never able to re-activate my license. It’s too bad. It was a great app.
Just an FYI you don't have to read back the altimeter reading
Does it work for vfr flight?
Beyond atc
What about accents ? Flying in Eastern Washington state ATC probably won't have a French accent. But other than that I love it.
Will it support oceanic flights?
That would be really cool because currently I absolutely don't have the balls to fly oceanic on vatsim
Although the programme is great, it appears that it's missing some real-world human style phraseology. For example, she said "expect Chins 5", in the real world (as well as on Vatsim) you would actually say "expect the Chins 5 arrival". Plus you wouldn't say the airport name on the approach clearance.
Join their discord and mention this! :) Remember these are things that can be changed and edited. I know they're working very closely with multiple real world ATC Controllers but there's a ton to consider there so please voice that to them and they'll dig in. :)
Hope it can be run from a networked PC or tablet.
I hate windows open all over the place
This sounds great and will get better. Surely it’s time for ATC to have sarcastic comments and piss taking for bad landings and crap runway etiquette lol
Is there an openbeta?
lets do it with FSLTL
When is this going to release? It just says 2024.....early, late???
Regarding accents, please ask them about thier thier plans on number of accents... ie there will be 6 male American, 4 female American, 3 German male, 2 German female, 4 Brit male, 2 Brit female, etc... I think detail should be spelled out on thier product page eventually.
On their website "100+ voices with regional accents"
What happens when the pilot makes a mistake like flying at wrong altitude, will the program detect this?regards Jelle , Luxembourg
Possible pilot deviation:)
Does it have the ability to hear other Live traffic?
Interesting question!
Wait, did the ATC vectored you to capture the ILS?
It did
@@OverkillSimulations nice! I remember doing a lot of vectored approaches (as I hated SIDs and STARs) in P3D with PF3 ATC.
@Pe11ePD lol why hate the SIDS/STARS LOL?
@@OverkillSimulations Now I use SIDs and STARs to fly it more realistically in XP and MSFS, but if the wind changes on arrival airport, it will force me to change the runway and STAR, and I don't know what to do lol. How do pilots change the STAR in the middle of descent or preferably during cruise? Do they get new STAR from ATC, or...? From my POV it is a lot of work when you are flying alone in the cockpit. That is why I initially used PF3 addon with vectored approaches, and I would still use it if the addon reads Active Sky weather in XP, which it doesn't. :(
So, what about Pilot2ATC. What's happened there if you don't mind mae asking. Beyond ATC better?
A comparison would be just supreme.
Barty
Literally.. with the UPMOST respect for pilot2atc.. seriously a great program..
When Beyond is finished there won't be a comparison
Two in a row with no auto response, does it even work?
I'm sorry.. I forget because I don't use it. But as i said previously, yes it does work. Yes I tested it :)
Is this going to adapt to European rules and phraseology?
Yes it will
Show.
??
If the Asobo devs haven't already considered acquiring this product to integrate into 2024 then please make them aware.
I'm concerned of whether or not your voice is recorded onto "the cloud" a.k.a. someone else's hard drive and if so, what are they doing with the data?
😂
I think that they're using on-board windows speech recognition. So your voice will most probably fly to Microsoft.
Just shut up and take my money
the freq swap sound is stolen from P2ATC 😆
Since you didn't show the landing, I assume you crashed.
No lol... tested the missed approach... stay tuned 😉
First
Nailed it!
Let's hope it will support VFR too.
And maybe get some people to record real audio.
PC voices is just bloody lazy.
This isn't just PC voices it's AI, which is far bigger than that.
The number of words a single person would have to record and the number of complete phrases would be so astronomical that the project could literally never be completed.
Think of just a tail registration. Now record yourself saying the numbers 0-9 one at a time. Each number on a separate track.
Do the same with the alphabet.
Then, take your recording and piece together a tail registration like N752ST
Now play it back... it would sound like absolute crap.
How we say an individual number or letter is much different than how we read a string
Doing a recording as you suggest would actually sound much worse than AI voices and would take an unimaginable amount of time, money, and resources.
And given the incredible development of this software and keeping in mind that nothing like this has ever been done before.. I certainly wouldn't call it lazy
Why the heck do the voices still sound robotic? Especially those female voices. I thought this was supposed to be the big deal for ATC? I thought we were moving on from the old days.
If this is going to be on monthly subscription basis, I'm out.
Why bother getting this? If Microsoft is making Flight Sim 2024?.... Isn't it bad enough they are taking our money a second time?
