    I get this question often.
    So is it?
    Well yes and no.
Sports are a great thing. I believe playing football at a young age made me who I am today.
Sports can build you up and strengthen you.
But where can we draw the line? When does it become a sin?
There're two questions we must ask ourselves when it comes to playing sports
    1. Do you we put the sport above our personal relationship with God?
Anything that we put above God is an idol.
This was the first of the 10 commandments. "You shall have no other gods before Me." (Exodus 20:3)
We serve a jealous God. This means God has an intense love and passion for His children. This is the agape, unconditional love of God. Anything that we put before Him will draw us away from Him.
    2. What is the reason you're playing the sport?
I knew a lot of people that play sports to impress their friends, make their parents happy, or because they'd have guilt and shame if they didn't.
We are called to do everything for the glory of God.
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
    (1 Corinthians 10:31)
How can you play sports for the glory of God?
A great way to start is coming before God before practice and the game saying a short prayer.
"God I surrender this practice to you. Let my actions and words bring honor to Your name. Let Your name be magnified through me. Let Your Spirit work through me today. In Jesus name I pray. Amen"
Those are two things we should ourselves before we can answer whether or not playing sports is a sin. You can watch the full video teaching by clicking here.

As One beats his opponents face in the ring. Steals the ball. Strives and is at odds. Put himself above others to win. All for a Corruptible crown.

Always wanted to go back to playing basketball but I know as a Christian that I don't feel like I want to because I feel like that I get to addicted over basketball besides doing my little for Jesus and even video games as well I've been trying to get away from it even downloading games on my phone I used the Holy Bible app on my phone and sometimes I get distracted going to play video games and downloading a game to play besides doing his will is getting in the Holy Bible app that I listen to I struggle with kind of reading now I've got better at it because I feel like Jesus is helped me to read his word a lot more easier and I don't even have to really listen to it but I just like to listen to it because if I can listen to it I don't have to sit there and read the whole thing Non-Stop I just like to sit there and listen to it

i feel like the only reason why i play soccer is for myself. To finally feel like i’m great at something. Is this bad? It causes me lots of stress but i’m worried if it’ll cause me more stress if i quit. Should I quit to glorify God more?

I heard different sources say football is sinful because people get injuries in it and they said they couldn’t see Jesus stiff arming someone down the field but I’m playing tackle football this fall and I would just like some input please

Look at all the fighting in between these overpaid NFL players.
The deep into some of these players religious beliefs and you'll find a lot of them are atheist.
Look how the most thing women know about football is the names of the football players that they Lust For.
Gluttony is a sin and look at all the commercials supporting gluttony.
Look at the filthy halftime shows.
Look how many players throughout history have cheated on their wives and how it's been glorified on talk shows.
Sadly I have overheard Christian women talking amongst themselves about how " hot" certain football players are.
NFL is nothing but a game of lust and greed .

How about martial arts? I want to start specifically krav maga. From what i get from scripture, krav maga should be a good thing. Self defense is positive. So why does it seem like something tries to stop me from starting it? Would that be God, or is satan so afraid ill get good at a useful skill since it could help make me a bolder and more confident christian? Or is it because God doesnt want me doing that because ill trust in my own skills rather than him? If its that, doesnt that make everything like education etc sinful or wrong too, because instead of for example taking drivers liscence we should wait for God to provide us a free taxi ride each time we leave home? I dont get this.

Hi, so I am doing martial arts right now. I practice karate. And I am also trying to navigate it as a Christian and here is what I’ve found so far. At first it was great because I had a balance between reading my word and practicing karate. But I’ve started to get this drive and passion to go even harder and take karate more serious and I’m starting to notice how I’m prioritizing karate more little by little. So now this question remains. How can I glorify God in martial arts? I’m still searching for answers and honestly I might have to sacrifice time and energy but it is all for God and I find that losing his presence and relationship is not worth anything in this world. So yes you can do martial arts. But be very careful because it can create this drive and passion that can take u away from God. I am still praying for answers and guidance on this situation and I strongly encourage you to pray about this as well. I tell you this to show u that u aren’t alone in this issue. God bless you 🙏

Is it a sin to play on the sabbath!? Seems like the church gave up on that one when capitalism and profit mean more! Sorry I’m old enough to where churches were outraged of football games being on Sunday.
