Brought out of storage and requiring a belt change - will it still work?

You need to lubricate the capstans with the tiny amount of oil. like a very tiny drop.

What oil do you recommend? Is light sewing machine oil safe to use?

Sounds like it is running dry, need to oil the capstans.
