- This video is for those who think of a personal accomplishment, set up their own handcrafted fountain to decorate their backyard, living room, gardens or any other place.
This fountain is made of styrofoam, a lot of hot glue, cement with sand, silicone, epoxy paint. Outside the decoration that you can leave with your face.
It's simple and easy.
Large Styrofoam you find in Japanese restaurants, they usually sell. I paid 20 reais each big box.
I bought a professional hot glue gun, with 2kg of hot glue in a tube, the thickest.
About 3 silicone tubes.
For the effect of the stones, use 3 colors of paint (black, gray and brown, in addition to white glue for the effect of stones).
Watch videos on CZcams to get ideas for sources, there are many videos of this type here and it helps you with ideas.
Buy stones at agroplants stores. In the free market it sells a lot. Use your imagination. If you focus well, 1 week is enough to finish, working 3 hours a day.
Buy a source of at least 3000 liters per hour, those from Ocean Tech are the best in my opinion.
In this fountain I also made an extra wall to make a small garden, it is nice to put plants that fall on the Water, making leftovers. If it gets too much sun, the water will generate a lot of seaweed and will turn green quickly.
Do not put fish right away, sources like this need to let it cycle well to get all the lime out of the cement, which leaves the water with super alkaline PH and will kill the fish. If you want to put carp, before painting, seal the cement very well, use acrylic varnish, epoxy paint, Macta7, this type of material. Use gravel from rivers. Leaves water cycling without chlorine for 1 month. Buy biological aquarium media to generate bacteria essential for the eco system that your fish needs. Buy ammonia, nitrite, chlorine, PH and Water hardness tests. Make sure your water is suitable for receiving fish. Talk to an aquarist first. Mine is still cycling, I will wait 2 months to put fish because the seal with the cement was not nice and the amount of lime causing the PH to rise too much, so I will have to wait for the cement to cure completely, make several changes of Water until Water is really cool for aquatic life :)
