Thank you for checking out this latest video brought to you by RealPars.
Today you will learn about control or function blocks. Specifically what they are and when we use them with automation and PLCs.
Different programmers call them by different names, and that can be confusing, but I hope to clear things up for you today.

Outstanding video to go further on function blocks. Congratulation RealPars, keep doing your excellent work!
Thanks a lot for your positive feedback! Happy to hear that. Happy learning :)!
goldmine of information presented in lucid manner
Thanks for your kind compliment!
Simple explanation for better understanding. Thank you Real pars, love your videos.
Great David! Thanks for your compliment.
Function Block programing is immensely far more useful than what has been explained here. Great video. But these blocks have enormous advantages in programing a very large project and in reducing many many errors.
Thanks for your feedback, Ardent!
Much appreciated Realpars 👏👏👏
Great to hear! Many thanks for your support. Happy learning!
Thank you! I appreciate your video .
Great! We appreciate your support :)
It would be nice to make a video about analog inputs and how to scale them, thanks for the effort.
Happy New Year
Thank you realpars, l am one of your favorite fan. I checked when this video was made, l see its 3 years ago. However l want to add and highlight, function blocks(FBs) do exist for user program clarity and re-usability and your explanation was okay. Now the ones you named control blocks do not exist as control blocks but they are fuctions(FCs), since they were made for us already, they are rightly termed SFCs. Keep the fire burning.
Thanks for your comment, and for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us!
We truly appreciate that
thank you realpars
You are very welcome!
keep doing your excellent work
Definitely! Happy learning.
I am expecting a video on how to use function [FC],function block[FB],Data blocks[DB] and organization block[OB and create a program.....it will be better if u explain an common example project available in our simatic manager Library...
If you look on www.realpars.com you will realize their most recent series of videos (except last Friday) has been on FBs, and FCs. I dont have access to those yet as it hasn't been made available yet for lifetime purchasers like me. But I have been waiting for years for it and have had to go find that information elsewhere.
@@renegadeflower575 yeah that's why I'm asking for an explanation here...
Tamil Arasan Tamil, Brother, we have to pay a bit for more. Please subscribe to www.realpars.com

Hi there!
I have a question, Can a timer on delay or off delay, count to up? 1,2,3,4, etc.
Thanks so much, regards from Mexico!
Yes, most On-Delay and Off-Delay timers have a parameter for time elapsed ("counts" up) and time remaining ("counts" down). If not, one or the other can be calculated: Time Left = Timer SP - Time Elapsed.
Sir please go with more practical examples...and upload/download... troubleshooting etc

Why not show the IEC blocks TON, TOF, TP?
Brother, You really dont expect them to put everything on here for free. They have to pay experts to create the program and that money comes from their subscription channel www.realpars.com :)
