*OR* they could've been souvenirs of a trip to the range. Or old surplus ammo from the war kept as a collection. Or something a boy snuck out of his fathers room to impress his friends. Or maybe his father just let him keep five rounds in his dresser. Who cares? It's ammo. My cousin had three live rounds of .50 BMG on his shelf when we were kids. Wouldn't you know nobody ever got shot? Ahem... Rant over...
You're correct about the casual Fallout 4 player. He/she is probably won't buy every home. That's why we have you. You are, in effect, our real estate agent. Well done.
The bobble-head stand makes sense. The bobble-heads are pre-war and where made by Vault-Tech to advertise vault space and would most likely be sought out by collectors
This yellow things on walls near doors are light switches. This is how light switches looked like long time ago. I don't remember when the new, square looking switches became a thing, but after 2WW (and maybe before), this is how light switches looked like. I remember switches like in the video, still being used in the 90s. Now they are only at old houses (not all old houses, many were renovated, and switches were changed for the ones that we use today, new ones are bigger and it's easier to find them in the dark)
I get that but if you check the sole survivors home in sanctuary (and in a lot of the others houses in the CW) you will find actually switches which you can scrap... this is just a decal.... kinda bummed that it's not the normal switch you find all over the place... Could be that's just me...but it feels like trying to reinventing the wheel and ending up with a 6 sided attempt....
These are actually the yellow wall thermometers, either they are making out they are switches or they where mounted at the wrong angle. You can use console commands to rotate them* and they do look a lot better as thermometers than yellow wall switches. (*: save your game, open console, click on the thermometer and enter "modangle z 180")
Shaddow I'm guessing enabling extra objects in place everywhere will enable me to select it and move it :p I'll check it out if I end up buying it.... still on the fence as of now
If you are on the fence then wait a bit as history has shown with CC they will reduce these kind of items to half price at some point and so grab it then. As I also commented on this page this item has no noted author thus it is in house Bethesda and it does add a few new items to your workbench like the blue double bed and black couch and matching chair etc. so at half price I think it would really be worth buying.
Fitzgerald caps are really only an issue for most in the earlier levels.... I usually have 20k before I hit level 20... the only downside to making caps fast early in game (for me) is that I hoard and sell... which makes me over encumbered for most of my travels xD....
A bit off-topic, but it always irritates me when you encounter a door that "only opens with a key." Just what is the difference between these locks and the locks you can pick? If it was possible to make locks that absolutely could not be picked, why didn't everybody use them? Why can you not blow the door away with explosives? If you're in Power Armor, why can you not kick the door down? Yeah, it get this is standard RPG stuff, but I still wish they would actually give reasons why ordinary doors are randomly impervious to everything except their intended keys.
DoctorPorkenfries there is actually a mod for that.... it's called something like destructible doors or something along those lines.... a but of searching on nexus and your set ;) At least.... it was available a few months ago xD don't know if it's updated or still online or not :p
DoctorPorkenfries Ah yeah that makes it a bit harder to use mods like that hahahahhaha... I agree it's stupid.... it's a bloody flimsy piece of wood.... not some sort of industrial strength composite door xD
While I understand your point, I think making some of the doors only accessible when the developer/modder intends them to be opened once you progressed enough in the story/quest is a necessary evil. Imagine that you would have to open a door in the CIT and you´d be in the institute.
Yeah but it bothers me when you can't open or otherwise do something you should be able to do for no reason other than game design. I think they should at leas come up with some kind of reason for a character being unable/unwilling to do something. E.g, early on in RE4, if Leon runs past a church he's been specifically ordered to investigate, he'll refuse to open the door to the next area, saying that he has to check out the church first. Give me something better than "You can't do this because I said so."
I just spent the free credits I got when creation club came out. I spent it on the American Flag paint job. Money well spent. Also, it’s my birthday! 242 years old!
The condo looks really nice. It is a good, reasonable size. Big enough to not feel claustrophobic, but small enough to be realistic. The high ceilings and brick walls remind me of some apartments I've rented that were loft spaces above businesses. Some things I wish you had touched on though... Is it a full workshop here, or like Home Plate can you only build furniture and the like. You did show that the Structure tab exists, but that doesn't mean everything in there can be found. And, is it a valid place to send settlers or companions? My complaint with the Nu Cafe Ola is that you can't send companions there, like with Home Plate.
Not a full workbench. Under 'structures' you can only, for some reason, build walls and floors from the Slocum's Joe kit. So, you can't build walls unless they're brick. Unless it's a glitch on my end, but that's what it looked like. You also can't set up a supply line to it, which is the worst. You'll have to haul all the supplies you'll need yourself.
Septlaxer Gaming Well it’s kinda dumb that people go around boarding places for no reason and even doing it to the windows I get that’s why they do it for the game but it’s a little unimmersive you wouldn’t board up a building after looting it would you it’s waste of time?
I never thought it was the scavengers, i figured it was pre-war America. People knew bombs were going to drop soon and so the ones that could get into vaults did so, whilst the government boarded up their houses. Otherwise, yeah that is a waste of time. Unless they board up to live inside without attracting attention and there are just people secretly living inside all of the boarded buildings but you can't enter cause it's boarded inside as well as out (a few exits here and there).
I feel like the Creation Club has taken one step forward and two steps back. Products like the Tunnel Snakes Rule quest and Slocum's Joe pack were good quality creations, though overpriced. Now though, the limited time offers and extortionate prices for skins (800 credits for skins is ridiculous). I'm also disheartened to see people buying these, as I don't approve of supporting the marketing tactics and the exploiting of PS4 players who can't otherwise get mods
I try to get the good ones, like this one, skins you can get any time when they are free! That's what I do, I get skins free plus whatever else I can! I buy stuff if I really want it!
I bought an xbox one x just for the better mods for fallout and skyrim. However, ps4 has USO and UCO atleast. By far those are my two favourite on ps4. UCO has pip boy paint and some armour/clothing paint. That mod author is a godsend for ps4 players.
I absolutely Adore the Condo as for someone who is crap at making good settlements, i just love how good it looks and how unique and useful it can be as i just put on mods and put bobbleheads and Robot Models everywhere and it makes it feel like its *my* house as no one else can get in, and i just dislike HomePlate
It looks fantastic, but I question how literally the entire rest of the commonwealth is a mess and that is more or less the one and only place outside the Institute that has even so much as had the rubble swept up; let alone being about as close to pristine as anyone could ask for. Seriously, why can nobody ever seem to just throw out those chunks of rubble from where they live? It would be an afternoon's work, if that.
Well sure, let's just throw this 400 ton chunk out the window, no problem! I know it's probably not 400 tons, plus I am being very facetious, I'm just saying. Seriously though, it's the weight of things, you'd have to have advanced technology to move such things.
This is how Bethesda should have made all settlements! They should of prebuilt their own gorgeous settlements but the player can choose to customize it and tear things down they don't want! Instead they left many towns deserted that are made for the player to customize.
ZaleraArkanus666 I have played many playthroughs and found it boring to keep building my settlements. I completely agree with you though. It would be more hassle to scrap everything if you wanted to start fresh. A simple "scrap all" command would allow you to build with a fresh start.
I think a better story would've been, if the owner of the house didn't feel safe anymore, because the minutemen gave up after Quincy. So unfortunately the house owner left the Commonwealth the day the Sole Survivor woke up not knowing that the Sole Survivor has lots of potential to become the greatest hope of the Commonwealth. The house itself isn't bad, I like the modern design of the bathrooms and I like the way how lighting is done here. Could be worth it. Thanks for the video, Oxhorn!
This looks nice and all, but why would I spend money on a cramped house, when I can build my own ten story tower or small town? Ah, well. Still a great video as always.
Just like any other creation club that adds new things to the build you mainly use it for the new assets you can build I love building things that look undamaged
Oxhorn I think what think what Charley meant by rebuilding the future is that he be rebuilding his and his Friends future now that they had a place to call home in a sense
Noticed this has no listed author thus it must be made in house at Bethesda. I do like how it did add a few new items to your workshop like the blue double bed and the black couch and matching chair etc. Also most of the Power Armor and Pip-Boy skins seem to be in house produced so in someways Bethesda is still making "official" content for FO4 which is good to see.
Idea for a home quest: Starts out similar, you know “Recently abandoned....went out scavenging, got killed”. But, when you get inside the house you find a hidden bunker behind a shelf. Turns out the PreWar residents were military preppers (people who assumed that the apocalypse would come and prepared for it by storing food, weapons and other gear, in hidden locations). The residents were also turning into ghouls due to a radiation leak in the bunker. It was powered that way, by radiation, and as time passed, the house received damage on both the exterior and interior (You can fix/improve either side with workshop mode). You kill the ghouls and bury their bodies outside, as a reminder to never power your house with radiation. How’s it sound? Please note I wrote this at 2:30am
The picture on the Picket Fences magazine made me think that this Creation Club add-on ripped off Shezrie's Apartment Loft. EDIT: Oh my God, they ripped off Shezrie's Apartment Loft.
Oh Boy. I just installed nearly all of Oxhorns Mods Guys. That was something. So much Mods that change so little things that you never notice. Now i just wanna search for those items and stare at them for hours.
Maybe the the former occupants of the Charleston residence sign up to Vault Tec and go premium deal which included the bobblehead display stand or maybe one of the parents or both of them in the Charleston residence before the war was a member of vault Tec and received the bobblehead stand by one of them getting promoted or they were awarded it by upper management for something they did at the company or Charlie found it while scavenging after he found the place or found it before he found the place memorize where it was and then when he found the Charleston residence he went and retrieved the Vault Tec bobblehead stand
I just watched your fallout 4 lore about the Cabot house, adding this to my last post in your last upload, now I believe we will encounter the forth party in future even more.
When the condo dropped on the creation Club I had a choice between that or getting some of the limited time power armor. I don't have any professional material on my channel so I can't call myself a CZcamsr but I am a fan of Fallout that's why I watch your videos and I find that this creation along with the Nuka Cafe helps in my gameplay especially with survival. I use the Starlight Drive-In as my primary settlement and I occasionally need to trade with Bunker Hill and at times I tend to clean them out. So, I then have to make a trip to Diamond City and I really can't seem to find safe ways of getting there than taking the routes I know are safe. However with this creation, I'm now able to travel from the drive-in to Covenant then to Bunker Hill from there I can relax and take a breather at the condo and before I can make it to Diamond City take a nice Swig of cold Nuka Cola at my own nuka cafe. I mean I do agree it would probably get a bit redundant Quest wise but think about this what about the dogs. I still bought any an all Creations I could at the time depending if it was limited time or not personally I chose power armor skins over Pip-Boy skins mainly because the pit boy skins don't do anything except Flash. Meanwhile getting on topic about the video, I thank you for going in full detail in this an all you do Ox, I hope I can call you that and if not I'll call you by your full name :) I just want you to know you're doing a good job and you've inspired me and I hope I can do what you do one day. Keep up the good work and looking forward to the many videos to come
I dont mind the CC, only buy if I want it. Im on PS4 as well, but I got the option to use mods...though it is not all the mods that PC users have, but there are still a mods option. So I dont understand when people say that when you are on a PS4 you can’t use mods.
Voodoo Baby I use mods too. Just not very many of them. I mentioned this in another video. I wish CC would get a realistic weapons pack. Like have a .45 pistol or a 12 gauge shotgun like New Vegas had.
Voodoo Baby No one says that you can't use mods on PS4. It's that PS4 can't have any mods with external assets, so basically nothing new and unique. No custom textures, 3D models, sounds, anything. PS4 can't even have the mod that lets you take Dogmeat and a human companion at the same time, since it uses a custom script.
I just wanted to thank you for all your work. You are the most professionell source for all kinds of information all around the Fallout universe concerning mods, lore and your helpfull guides. I bought the game just a few months ago and stuck with it right away. You might play a major part with this. Please keep up the great work and continue to entertaine us. Ps. Greetings from Germany :D
For the quest, they could have had you walk into the house (the owner forgetting to lock the door) and kill the writer of the note and his guests, the thing tipping you off that there was a house there being the lights visible. Might make you play a more evil role, but maybe you could talk them down and come to a resolution, such as directing them to a Minutemen settlement so they don't have to worry about scavving etc.
I didn't see if any of the taps worked, I'm doing a survival play through and this was gonna be my main home, obviously working taps would be essential, if anyone knows I'd appreciate it thanks
a quest simular to how you get the Mechenist Lair would be a good idea. An enemy attacks you, you hunt/chase him back to his home, kill him and take possesion of the place is way better then you find the key and there you go.
here's a fun quest for a player home, "home owners leave note explaining he had a friend that went on an expedition into the glowing sea, and went after him because he was gone for days. player then goes into the glowing sea finds the home owner (depending upon if the player didn't drag there feet getting there) and the person the home owner was looking for fighting two unique and difficult death claws called claw and rip that can one shot u out of power armor and have an incredible speed boost. the "3" of you fight off the death claw depending upon if the home owner or the other guy lives through the fight he gives you the key to the house. If he dies u cant get key but have to lock pick your way into the house" lol.
If only they come up with unique quests a lot of potential wasted here it's always that "go in 5 places do the same things and you get the reward". Thank you very much Oxthorn for showing this mod at least we know what we can buy early.
I love your content oxhorn. You have a sort of calming, fatherly tone to your voice that helps me wind down after a stressful day. I love that you also give your opinion without swearing every word, it does get old. Keep up the good work!
Would have been useful to show: Is the full range of workshop items available, or if not, is it same limitations as Home Plate? Can it link to a supply line? Can Companions or DogMeat be dismissed to the home? Settlers or Robots able to occupy this sprawling building? It has a cafe area - any functionality to turn that into a working business? A few of those would make me consider purchasing - especially if it could be a limited settlement with companions or settlers, or, if the cafe was an external cell that could be set up as a trade hub and roadside food & drink stall - tied to Bunker Hill caravans say - there is so much that could have been put into this rather than just another "home". As it is I'll pass unless it's offered free or for 50c at some point.
It's a player home, so yes, it has the same limitations as home plate. Companions and dogs cannot be sent there. You can't turn the cafe into a functional restaurant, as you can in a settlement. This is a player home, not a settlement.
I have found that the one thing these quests are really missing is voice acting NPCs. Without them every quest is going to be one of those typical read notes and fetch quests. If they could somehow implement new NPCs for quests with good voice acting it would make the potential for these quests so much higher. Bethesda said they wanted to make the creation club professional and all but a lot of these quests seem amateur when you look at some of the quest mods on the nexus. The hardest part is voice acting, I don't think it would be difficult for Bethesda to do that, although I can see the prices for those mods going significantly higher if they do that.
Oxhorn: I love the CC videos you do. You always have me captivated from beginning to end. Your voice and knowledge brings discovery and drama to what otherwise could be dull. Have you done voice acting? Bought the condo and love it!
Jared Davis I'd rather go look at TheEvilViking13 or Norespawns videos. They might have it up or not but they're still good at building so I recommend either way.
If i had to guess It would seem the mod creators make the mod and it works fine and is unique Giving if there going to do a quest they have to follow a guideline Then bethesda goes over the mod and changes things Breaking parts of the mod Then slaps it up on the creation club for a price they want for it and there you go
I think another problem with the player home quests is that they may be created by the same person who made the rest of the mod. Someone who is great at making a player home may not be skilled at making quests, and may not be able to partner with someone else who is. So that's a possible problem.

16:02-16:10 Apply that same logic to Fallout 4's radiant quests.
Why don’t people pry boards off buildings more often?
Because then Bethesda would have to populate more buildings and let the player enter any that don't look like they've been trashed.
Septlaxer Gaming Well it’s kinda dumb that people go around boarding places for no reason and even doing it to the windows I get that’s why they do it for the game but it’s a little unimmersive you wouldn’t board up a building after looting it would you it’s waste of time?

Don´t know why but when you derped Preston in the face with the solar gun at 15:35 it did make me smile =)
Oxhorn I think what think what Charley meant by rebuilding the future is that he be rebuilding his and his Friends future now that they had a place to call home in a sense
Lora Elstad yes they do thanks for pointing that out to me I appreciate it
hey u reading this comment

For a powder ganger you aren’t so bad. Thank you and I hope you have a good life
powder ganger321 no you
12:30 "this must be a be a childrens room that has since be untouched by time" precedes to get the 44 bullets out of the the kid room
Idea for a home quest:
Starts out similar, you know “Recently abandoned....went out scavenging, got killed”.
Wow
Oh boy! Two videos in one day
ox is spoiling us :)

It's a 4th of July miracle!
Captain Cosmos posters don't work here. They vanish from inventory, get used as scrap , and/or are recognized as other posters
Oxhorn you forgot to mention build items, there is a Blue blanket cover queen size bed, and one painting.
Oxhorn has also forgotten this about other CC...
I hope Ox does a lived in video for this. I need ideas on what to do with mine and his lived in videos help a lot.
I actually use Charleston condo as a player home for my minutemen character and I think it does well, being so close to bunker hill and all
Did you know you can buy a tank with tread and a working cannon only in texas
The "thing" is actually a thermostat. You can find this by looking in the game files.
The picture on the Picket Fences magazine made me think that this Creation Club add-on ripped off Shezrie's Apartment Loft.
EDIT: Oh my God, they ripped off Shezrie's Apartment Loft.
Or maybe... if the quests are original and well done, players might wish to purchase this home even if they already have one? Content RULES!
Oh Boy. I just installed nearly all of Oxhorns Mods Guys. That was something. So much Mods that change so little things that you never notice. Now i just wanna search for those items and stare at them for hours.
Might be a little late but those yellow things are thermostats they're in sanctuary also
Am i the Only one who reads wethearby savings and loan in Ironsides voice?
7:53 "And while Preston tests the sturdiness of this table..." I lost it. XD
Thanks for covering this. I had really hoped this creation would add some buildable items to the menu. Ah well.
Oxhorn, you already made a video today!
Happy 4th of July 🎆🇺🇸🦅🎆

Keep up the good work and looking forward to the many videos to come
IT BE LIGHTSWITCH
I am the only who like the creation club ? Not the fact you need to pay
ChefSuperNono Well, I’m on PS4 so it’s either the CC or wait until Sony allows external assets and I don’t see that happening.
I like it..😃
Voodoo Baby No one says that you can't use mods on PS4. It's that PS4 can't have any mods with external assets, so basically nothing new and unique. No custom textures, 3D models, sounds, anything. PS4 can't even have the mod that lets you take Dogmeat and a human companion at the same time, since it uses a custom script.
I Like How It Costs 100 More Creation Credits For A Player Home Then A Dog Who Is Just A Dog That Does...Dog Things
i think the yellow thing or the "light switch" is the back of the thermostat from the pre-war houses , nice video :)
I belive the orange/yellow texture on the wall is a thermometer/thermostat that checks the tempature and humidity of the apartment
10:45
You know MxR is not gonna be impressed when he finds out that the tissue roll is facing the wrong way.
Charlestown Condo: "Free" real state
I just wanted to thank you for all your work.
The blinds are in the vanilla game somewhere (don't know where though), they were in a ps4 mod that lets you build more vanilla items
11:55 that is thermostat, you can find many of these in sanctuary
"This must be the kids room, untouched by time." *Finds ammo in dresser*
PlebNC lmao
IT’S PRIME REAL ESTATE
HAPPY 4th of JULY EVERYBODY 🎉 🎂 😃
Oxhorn, thanks for this. I was waiting on picking this up till I saw your video here. Looks like I'll be buying my first thing from CC.
“While Preston checks the sturdiness of this table....” I’m still dying it’s just like he casually vaults onto the table making no noise whatsoever
Feels bad Charlie. My man just trying to live the dream and chill with the homies.
I didn't see if any of the taps worked, I'm doing a survival play through and this was gonna be my main home, obviously working taps would be essential, if anyone knows I'd appreciate it thanks
36th! -Love how you casually mentioned that Preston was standing on a flimsy wooden table.
I liked it when he "accidentally" toasted his face with a shot later. See Preston, that is what you get for calling your General "babe"! :)
I think the light switch is a dimmer. The kind that slides up and down.
a quest simular to how you get the Mechenist Lair would be a good idea.
The yellow things are supposed to be light switches. They are in fact... The back side of the yellow thermostats you find in the Sanctuary houses.
I bought them all and downloaded mods to make them available immediately (i play on PlayStation) keep up the great work oxhorn!
Just woke up from a nap and this is the first thing I'm greeted with
If only they come up with unique quests a lot of potential wasted here it's always that "go in 5 places do the same things and you get the reward".
Thank you very much Oxthorn for showing this mod at least we know what we can buy early.
10:50 I think that is one of those thermometers faced the wrong way, meant to look like a light switch.
I love your content oxhorn. You have a sort of calming, fatherly tone to your voice that helps me wind down after a stressful day. I love that you also give your opinion without swearing every word, it does get old. Keep up the good work!
Would have been useful to show:
Is the full range of workshop items available, or if not, is it same limitations as Home Plate?
They could add new characters that talk might help make things more interesting but would cost them more money to hire people to voice act
that yellow thing looks like the thermometer found in the player home it just might be placed backwards
You should do a lived in series on all of the new player homes, I loved the series.
Oxhorn: I love the CC videos you do. You always have me captivated from beginning to end. Your voice and knowledge brings discovery and drama to what otherwise could be dull. Have you done voice acting? Bought the condo and love it!
Odd question but would you consider doing settlement builds for this and the nuka cola cafe creation?
Jared Davis I'd rather go look at TheEvilViking13 or Norespawns videos. They might have it up or not but they're still good at building so I recommend either way.
Preston: General, this table is the most sturdy table ever
Rivet city is one of my favorite fallout locations. Now I'm excited.
If i had to guess
It would seem the mod creators make the mod and it works fine and is unique
Giving if there going to do a quest they have to follow a guideline
Then bethesda goes over the mod and changes things
Breaking parts of the mod
Then slaps it up on the creation club for a price they want for it and there you go
*It's Free Real Estate*
*IT'S FREE REAL ESTATE*
Preston was also testing the damage on your weapon. 10/10 Preston
I think another problem with the player home quests is that they may be created by the same person who made the rest of the mod. Someone who is great at making a player home may not be skilled at making quests, and may not be able to partner with someone else who is. So that's a possible problem.
two vids in one day, thank you oh great oxhorn!
