Tiger Leung has made a career out of cutting hair and giving clean shaves. For over 50 years, he has run his traditional barbershop in Hong Kong with a focus on an old-school approach to his craft. While similar shops have gradually faded away and closed over the years, Leung is determined to keep his business open for as long as he can. But today his customers are not only long-time clients who have become his good friends. Thanks to the attention his shop has received on social media, Leung's business is getting attention from a whole new generation.

i hope his hands and legs stay healthy. that job can take a toll on both. best of luck to him and the rest of the people that work there. i hope he stays in business for a long time. stay safe and healthy!
I just hope he has a retirement plan set (housing, monthly allowance, food, etc) for his own stakes
Actually he was showing some serious techniques there. The way he was fading and curling, my gosh, I don’t think most salons have people who can do it like that. I think it just comes with 50 years of experience, he has literally seen it all.
He's so talented and humble. I would like to visit his barber shop some day!
"If you don't go to school, you need to learn a skill"
pretty wise words i would say
@@cheekyvx5371 yeah.. it's pretty wise..

Old School Perm! The Classics never go out of style.
I absolutely adored watching this video. What a great "craftsman" he is. So few and far between. Tiger Leung - may you continue to prosper...you have a heart of gold. I only wish that there were more barbers like you around. (England)
So happy to see barbers like him still around! Thank you SCMP for featuring him in your short film this time
also.. the people who disliked this video are just jealous they can't cut hair as well as he can
Mostly haters and losers who rioted in HK
I hope his shop stays open for many years to come!
I hope the young customers remember to tip him. 👍
I don’t think tips exist in china
@@vikav1682 i wont say its nonexistent, but its not as prevalent as in the US
A very talented & skilled grandpa❤️
bruh i wanna be this talented at 70, love this
A beautiful film, thank you so much.
Dear
I pay my respect to his traditional and skilful mister barber.. Everything was made or was build in the past was made with passion , with duration ...Now a day we moved very fast to new technologies..but nothing last long..
I used to cut my hair in old barber shops when I used to live in Hong Kong island during childhood. The aesthetic is so nostalgic ~
He does a very nice haircut 💇♂️ ❤️😊
Oh my goodness he is absolutely adorable and amazing barber
7:03 i don’t know why but it is neat to me to see him trimming with the thinning or tooth scissors.
It is very easy to like Tiger Leung, I go to an old school barber in Sydney and enjoy every minute
Long live the master
A master of his craft
What a nice film ❤ thanks scmp
I like the intricate detail the hairdresser pays to the customer!
i wish the earnings of this content will be able to buy him a new blower. he deserves all the best in the world. 😍
Extremely soothing, thank you for sharing this sifu
awww bless him
Will definitely have to go for a cut and support him whenever I am in the city!!
the hairdryer machine looks cool
Porra! Yh, the art always fades away w/ the skilled craftsmen. But he was determined to keep it up as long as he can. Kudos! May he live long and prosper. Inshalla.
Yes tiger
Great video, Chris Chang :)
Barbershops are still available here in Malaysia & is here to stay. It won't fade away.
Some of the haircuts like fades, mohawks, bald, slick, and spiked are cool
Please make more on documentary on such kinds

Pure charm, pure magic
What a cute Lil ol man
Still using his 50 year old
Hair dryer
😂
Love it 😍
Haircut Harry should visit this guy
Brilliant film.
Wonderful story
5:46 you can only get better through practice for eyebrow shaping. yup, and i’ll be a hair model for everything else except for my eyebrows. one wrong slip of the hand and that could be half of my eyebrow gone!
The age of that hair dryer says it all.
I learnt to cut my own hair during the lockdown
Hope he stays healthy
Where is his store ? Location need to be shared
I guess the age of that hair dryer is at least 30 years old. LOL. Uncle is a highly skilled barber, his scissors-cutting technique is second to none.
Nice job
that aint a hairdryer, that is a turbo
Love the hairdryer
Built like a tank!
so many competent barbers run out of work from this virus!
I've been cutting my own hair for the last 10 years (male)...i use professional Wahl trimmer with different heads. I don't cut my hair short. But use different techniques to trim my hair in different levels I would say 10 cm top. The back is the most difficult to do by yourself. I learned to do it by feeling.
Funky Doolittle - Try using a 3-mirror set up. One to look into and the 2 side ones are on hinges so you can see the back of your head. You may find one in a second hand shop or antiques shop/market.
I like master anything.anykbe who knows and share their craft, whatever it is.
location pls
Waiting for Ray Mak's comment
i believe it s at this address: 351號 1 樓, Shanghai St, Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong
yep it is dude but it's on the scond floor, i guess
@@krover2120 00:47 it says 樓二登請, but i got the address from google maps...., i wonder if it is first floor (western style)/second floor (chinese) 😜 anyway just just go up and you’ll find it 😅
did he know how to cut like 90s haircut of aaron kwok? or other male artist in 90s in hongkong?
Nice
Frankly speaking old style is best
26usd? Hk is so expensive...
The most I've paid for a hair cut is 15. Didn't like it. So i bought my own clippers. Been a long time since i step foot in a salon. Lol.
I see the price list at 2:54 is $98hkd us$12 for the hair cut
Morning ichababy
👍👍👍

Ppl disliking this video have no warm heart for the ppl of hk and what they've been through all these covid and protest. They atleast give better haircut than mainland China does!
The barber is from Shanghai in case you missed it
@@Peizxcv dude dont read me the lessen its in hk by seeying the house structure and the build. and in Shanghai they dont speak cantonese only mandarin.
@@IcanseeeverythingwhatyouDohere Go see 7:45 You have no idea how many people in Hong Kong was from Shanghai. The 1st chief executive of Hong Kong Tung Chee-hwa and the current Carrie Lam are both Shanghaiese
September could be filled with protest again.
@@Beantastrophe don't think so as they tightened its grip on HK even more with the national security law.
Haircut Harry should visit him.
What is the tradition element in his way?
this is the type of barber that will make you fall a sleep
$26 for a trim?!?
The translation is off, that's $26 for a haircut.
Even the blow dryer is from 50 years ago.
i too prefer barbershops over salon. First, i always have a clean cut. Second, am not to comfortable with women or lgbtq+ cutting my hair - i am hesitant if they are aware of a man's preference
Hi
So that dude in the beginning asked for the cesar milan, but couldnt afford it, and got the generic instead?
Teach me how to fly
2:41 this is irrelevant but the bgm sounds like the instrumental of spotlight by lil peep 🤔
Free Hong Kong
man said 25quid for a haircut
🖖
Ok?
$100 for a haircut in salon? You crazy
Michael Vu ... Yes, even in England £100 is reasonable in London and some other areas. Expect to pay about £45 - £70 for a cut and blow dry. (every 4 - 6 weeks?) THAT'S WHY I CUT MY OWN HAIR.
Yes! It’s true in Southern California USA. And you still have to tip!
💇🏻♂️
If you don't get this hair cut you will end up in a Chinese reduction centre for ever
“if you don’t go to school you need to learn a skill”
So schools don’t teach skills. I see.
You don't understand the history of Hong Kong to give your statement. Educate yourself on the history of Hong Kong and you'll understand Tiger Leung.
