In summers and fall I pull grass seed screenings and feed with belt and walking floor trailers similar to your rice hauling. Then in the fall switch to hazelnuts, then November December when rates are high I go drag Amazon trailers around. I try to plant my ass on the couch and in my shop doing truck maintenance and up grades Jan/ feb. lol anyway I ripping through your videos today and enjoying them.
Hey Rick! Thank you for watching. The hopper deal is probably temporary but I use to do it full time. I like to swap it up so I don’t get bored pulling one trailer. I feel you on the January and February in the shop! That’s usually my biggest couch time as well!!!
I'm 27 years old and thinking about going on my own athuroity sorry for the misspelling but hauling grain from the elevators and farmers to the feedlots around Colorado kansas and possibly Oklahoma and Texas and starting out with an older truck and hopefully run paper log I hate eld but if I have to run eld to pull a grain trailer guess I got to and nice ride by the way buddy my dad has hauled grain and cattle all his life even did some flatbedding and reefer trailers but I think being an owner operator would be ok as long as you can stay busy I will eventually buy a stepdeck flatbed trailer and haul hay and straw to the dairy farms and feed lots in Colorado don't get me wrong I hauled cattle for farmers to and from the sale barns it's fun but I do love throwing straps and tarps over a flatbed load and mabey getting leases on with a harvest crew pulling they're flatbeds hauling the tractor and grain cart around and doing harvest with them during the summer and doing some hay hauling and grain hauling during the winter
Hey man good luck to you! Don’t be afraid to run an older truck. Nothing wrong with them if you buy a good one and keep it up. I always tell people once one gets a million miles on it maintenance just starts making a revolving circle.

I hate to speculate on anything trucking right now! Man I think so if they are hooked up with good people. I’ve heard of some good loads going north out of this area.
Yes! It’s hard to even buy groceries right now. Xtra lease use to lease RGNs but I’m not sure if they have one like I need. I kinda want to wait and try and buy one like I want out right.

Take it from experience plenty of work for a hopper but not much money to be made the key is no sitting and waiting get you a live bottom 👍
