About half the gear from mod 16 is useable. I use two ebonized rings since I have only gotten a shadow walker +3 ring and since those both have snipers perk I ditched the hags rags for gurndunn defense. I use the soup bowl for my head piece and the new stained shirt and pants are better than old gear. And as soon as rngesus blesses me I’ll switch to alabaster weapons I’ll gain 500+ il and 3-4k power.And I think depending on your stats all the new artifacts are bis, I’m using Trobands ring, staff of flowers and Wyvernn knives.The only old gear that is bis for me is my terrored grips, my primal boots for 3%ap gain on kills, and demo set.This set up gets me to 23.8 item level with 175k power,buffed up I can almost get to 190k power. And all my offense stats are capped and defense are almost capped, I’m short on crit avoidance and deflect. So I definitely wouldn’t say to just stick to your old gear.
I'm glad you made this video I've been saying the same thing since the mod released, PS4 I'm 21 k and can't get into lomm due to not being 23k item level but usually out DPS 23k item level people

@@TheRealAssistMan you just have to pick and choose which gear to keep thats old and which to keep which is new, for instance most of the TR gear can be changed to new. it will increase ur dps (theres like 3-4 peices of old you need to keep though)

What about the music box set for DPS classes? I understand it's not constantly up like the Demo and Lostmauth sets, but it gives you an easy source of combat advantage. Also, you get extra HP and in the event of Demo and Lostmauth set bonuses getting nerfed, this would most likely be the next go to set for DPS. Or the set that gives you 5% damage bonus/ reduction for 10 seconds after a daily would also be a good alternative. If you use your daily properly ( and can position yourself properly for music box set) these bonuses should be somewhat usable.
for certain classes it could be bis. my friend that is a hr uses it cause he can use his daily at 50% and does way more damage with it

I play PC and am a leader of one of the guilds in our alliance. We had an alliance run and a cleric, right before our que said ‘all the dps here aren’t above 23k level so the run is shet and doesn’t want to run’.
Well. I told him in after Trobriand that “hey sorry you had to run with non 23k players. But, why are you kissing floor in dps?”.

Great vid! Interesting to watch as I am returning after stepping away in 2017 haven’t played since FBI was released. I see the point of running old gear for better stats however I’m only sitting at 13k il so not even high enough to run certain content how do you suggest I improve this without the new gear. Should I be focusing on upgrading companions and Runestones for a boost in il?
companions 1st as they will always give you the most bang for your bucks. bonding runestones and companions
I remember being a trickster rouge and about 4 years ago (PS4) used to get booted from queues just because I was using TR. Used to get alot of hate, so I switched to a tank class (fighter), now I see rouges every f&+#$ where. Was in 3 skirmishes in a row with nothing but rouges lol and they melted enemies like butter, now I want to go back to it
My man you can't expect every new update to make all previously grinded for gear completely useless. That would really kill the joy of playing the game and the end game of doing different areas until you get your BIS gear.
People have the item level superiority mindset still? I thought the community was a bit more educated by the time m16 hit. I remember one time when I was wearing BiS gear that contained percent increase dmg boosts from omu hunts and borovia fury boots that I would get kicked because the party only viewed my item level as “not to their standard”.
thats because 80% of the nw community does not know how to properly play the game of an mmo. they rule with their wallet and dont know how to properly test things and just use what they think is the best cause of a number

I agree 100%. I’m item level 22k and average about 84 mil on LOMM (no wipe run) always top damaged with the random people I group up with who have a few thousand item level on me. I’m still using all the old stuff.
Hello AssistMan love the vid. But id like to get your opinion. I geel like Kessell's Spheres of Annihilation is almost a must for Wizards. It gives you pow 999, Arm pen 1002, and combat advantage 999. All impotant stats. What do you think?
you would really want to get all the new artifacts that came in mod 16 that have higher stats. 4 of them are very very good or at least 3 of them
What about tank gear? I’m doing great with lomm armor set. I like the equip bonuses more than previous sets

did 17 Barovia hunts this week and not one gear piece dropped. i think it is bugged.

Worked okay for me. Got the arms again, got the Warden's Chest plate too, Pretty okay to run, I like a little back up and it is "Bugged" and summons the help a little more frequently (every time you enter combat?) But isn't great for continued combat since I don't think he comes back.

To simplify: Top tier equipment is good for tanks and Healers. DPS takes a lot more grinding to build.
Side note, I wonder how many people quit playing because paladin can't DPS Tank anymore.

Im having the worst luck in ME, I have yet to get a single alabaster weapon piece, I do all my 3 dailies everyday, and people already have full set to legendary, it’s ridiculous

Hey Assist Man. What about the Ebonized Armor piece? The one that gives you 1 - 10 % Power if you hit or heal for 10 % of your hitpoints? Doesn't that have the potential to outdo the hag's rags?
no it does not
This is only true until the next patch, when they update the perks on new armor and nerf the old gear and sets.

If you look in your bar it shows hags rags or Kiuno of the Bear: with a 2 on it if you have 2 pieces( is: the Bear and Fury, or the Bear and the Ebonized ring...) and if you have a 3rd piece: it still says 2 on it... so i took off the Boots of Fury and the ring and Bear give me a 2 rating... im not wure a 3rd oiece gives you anything, avan witha different name: IE 3% to ranged vs Melee ect.... because the Hage rage stax with the new Ring.... and terrored grips can be omitted for a new piece( new power bonus feet are good)
I dont think we are getting the 3rd piece bonus... tho someone could verify....
and if you have the arms that give Mele and At Wills damage but take away from the damage of your daily: does that " overstack" also...?
it seems that you can only have 2 pieces of Damage Mod gear... regardlesss, and the Headpiece that gives 5% in UnderMountain... can someone verify this is the case, VERY important not to get rid of them just yet, But....
only 2 of the same exact bonus will stack. so 3 will not work. you can have more then 2 pieces but they cant be the same equip bonus name. for instance you can have 2 that say your melee or ranged powers do 3% more damage and still use 2 other pieces that say your encounters do 3% more damage. just not more then 2 of the same exact thing
so would the Arms that give 3^ mele AND Atwills still do its Job in mod 16?....? the Heels can be omitted ince you have the ring, anf your ring binus was 2.5 and 2%... si it goes up to 3.... or are the riings still a different buff and one can use the 2 rings ( rank 5 and rank 4) and the Boots and Chest and get all of them, is this best now...?
Because Hags stax with the new ring OR the Terrored grips ect... as the 2...
Assist man idk if you did a video on this but if you guys take a look at trade house now and look at different grade companions. Bang- the bonuses are gone on upgraded companions. The defaults only have the bonuses. So that million or so astrals you paid to get purple to legend. bonus is gone? As far as I know. someone correct me if that assessment is wrong and if it isn't then don't be buying a summons purple grade companion for its bonuses if you intend to upgrade it. Will be a companion wasted.
While we get trade offs for the insignias, we get nothing for the loss on the companions. So be sure when you get companions anymore only get them for the defaults for the bonuses and the type boost. Don't for powering then up. Fortunately many have the legendary companions anyway and they as far as I know can't be upgraded so you get the bonuses. It's the blue and purple types you need to be more wary of
I tested terrored grips vs a pair of 990 gloves. I took the avg of 10 crits using both gloves, using the same encounter power. 990 gloves avg 120,852. Grips avg 112,309. RIP grips. Test them yourself I'd like to hear the results.
if you tested them like that throw all your info out the window. thats not the way you do a true controlled test. get a wooden weapon and take off everything on your charecter

As a GWF player, since our damage output got nerfed to oblivion, I couldn’t even tell which was better. Thanks for the PSA though, gonna swap back to my old gear, hopefully I see some kind of change lol

I am 25.4k barb in PS4, i tried the old versus the new gear, were nerfed so bad there is not much difference, yes you will have mire camage using old gear but our damage compare to pure dps class is nowhere close, i use blademaster for campaing and influ but i go tank for lomm and im telling you there is no tank who can do as much damage as my sentinel barbie, ive never seen one even the people i farm with said it
If Barbs had the same companion slots for dps as the other dps classes, we could probably pull our own weight. I basically have to go full sweaty try hard 😂 to keep up with hrs, cws I have no chance. Hrs have 2 fully feats the double their melee damage, which essentially nets the quadruple damage, not to mention other dmg buff feats. But I can say the old gear is still better from recent results.
This video actually made me laugh LOL as I have been trying to tell people this.... I can barely get to 24K item level without being shit. Actually I'm sitting at 23.1 right now and surpassing 24ks in DPS 🤣 good lookin out 🙃
its all truth. if you are a good dps with the right gear its near impossible to pass 24k. if you are bad dps with all the new gear and best everything you can get to near 26k

Its all about those raw buffs and better increases
I’ve heard all of the old arms are glitched so you don’t get the buffs.
I saw a stream not too long ago and the devs had said that they want the players to run the new gear and they don't want to but if they have to they would Nerf the old gear basically forcing players to run the new stuff if they don't feel but enough people are running the new gear. I mean it's probably good that people are mixing it up so hopefully a Nerf wouldn't happen.
that is why the Lostmauth set got nerfed, so people would rung the Orcus set.
for tank we use a little of old and little of the new stuff and healing is mostly all new like cleric but for warlock its the old gear its odd i know but its what it is.

Man as a new player lvl 80 im having the worst time obtaining gear. Mostly my artifacts. Im a Barbarian blade master class. I have the Orcus shard, but a staff of flowers is crazy expensive for just the green version is 1.2 mill Ad on ps4 AH. What should i do?

I'm still 24k with about 90% old gear can't recommend using the rex carona sadly...tried using the music box set it's a solid damage alternative for when they inevitably nerf orcus into oblivion :( can't say I blame them it's redonkulus we are rocking old gear, I hope the new 990 update makes them relevant finally
Yeah... I heard the devs have said they are going to 'fix' the % gear.
I am a bit skeptical of this. If you use old gear, you get less power, but 3% more damage. Does the decrease in power offset the 3% more damage? So say the old stuff gives 2000 power and 3% damage increase, but the new gear gives 5000 power, but no bonus to damage, does the 3000 extra power of the new gear essentially make up for the 3% from the old gear?
no the extra power does not make up the damage difference. 100% a fact. if you had 150,000 power you would need to add 7500 more power to equal 3% damage. if you had 190,000 power you would need to add 8700 more power to equal 3% more damage.
I thought every change by 1000 in a stat corresponds to a 1% increase in damage, deflect, whatever. Is this wrong?

Hey assist man my power stat with old gear is 157k, but when I read zone chat people are calling for people with 180k power how is that achieved with old gear legendary companions and mount insignias can you tell me please. I can't seem to reach 180k power.
New 5%damage helmet,alabaster daggers,3%damage shirt,3%reduced damage pants and 1 companion item is all I use on my rogue of the new gear.
Are the ebonized rings from ME quest reward or runic chest?
they are from turning in the me quest or from the slime covered gear boxes but dont open them chances are slim

rogues can use ranged i actually think its the best. but you would want to use heels of fury as well as fureied kiono and i think there is a arm piece as well if you are going all melee
2 many garbo dudes use the new gear fluffing item level 23-26k and get absolutely destroyed by 21-22k using actual dps gear. the actual difference in damage is huge. easily the difference between 25 min runs and 1 hour runs.

So your saying the spy gear 5% helm is better than the murme soup bowl helm that also gives a 5% dmg boost inside and outside undermountain i can see that but outside of undermountain i like the murme too
way better read the soup bowl. it gives 5% damage for 5 seconds with a 30 second cooldown which means it only works for 5 secs every 35 secs.

From what I have been told sniper's perk only stacks twice at 3%.
actually on PC the successors gloves provides 5% power for 15 sec when u engage battle refrehs every 60 sec(i m actually using those ) since i dont have old mod 15 gear cos i started to play 1 month before mod 16 launch i think they a good option "till" i can get the hands on old mod 15 ...%dmg gears...... but yeah u correct when saying that old gear are better XD.
i currently have 21k IL and i outdps in LOMM other people who are 2k or 3k more IL then me by like over 60M dmg ( and i still miss CA cap for loMM )running the right stuff ( gears, companions, bondings ) is 50% of the job and the other 50% well u need to be good at your class XD

Why the Lostmauth-Set? Is it better than the Demon Lords Set?
I believe in a previous video he mentioned that it was good because of the additional damage on crits adds up on a class like the wizard.

Hey thanks for the video I’m still new in this game I see a lot a people whit level 700 gears whit 950 level gear and still very high level item 20k+ and I don’t know is the change is in the enchantment level item and companion influence or the boons because I now the boons have level item to so probably like you say the only good is the rings the pants and shirt I don’t if the new weapon items are good to but for that I need to reach 20k+ items so in some point this game suck 😂

Your nice and look load but the math doesn’t add up more power is always better... sorry your wrong. If you hit 180k power it is the same as 14% more damage++++ because with old gear it is not possible to reach 180k power..

100% TERRIBLE. The base weapon damage is wayyyyy to low
@@TheRealAssistMan getting the alabaster set is near impassible since the drop rate ia too low and it s random since it can drop the set of any class and i only have 1 character able to doo master expedition and the watcher set it even harder to get all what is left is old master work set that give 2% dammge or primal that give 10% and both have low weapon dammge compared to the new set idk which one to use
its not about the set bonus its about the raw damage of the weapon. just keep trying to get alabaster set drop rate will be better soon with new patch when we get it
