The Warning - Dust to Dust (Orchestral Version)

I've been learning to work with virtual orchestral instruments, so I did a cover of The Warning's Dust to Dust to get some practice creating arrangements and understanding how all these instruments work with one another. It was a lot of fun translating the guitar, bass and vocal melodies to these instruments, and adding my own little touches to each section. Still learning how to make good use of everything, though!
Most of it was done using Spitfire Audio's excellent BBC Symphony Orchestra library, with a few other libraries thrown in just to cover what the BBCSO doesn't have (such as a piano), or just because I liked the sound (Project SAM Short Strings was perfect for the opening bass line).

I love The Warning, I also love Halo and this version of Dust to Dust definitely made me feel Halo vibes I know I'm not crazy. This is the best fanmade version of any The Warning song so far imo. Kudos to you.

My god! Unbelievable! I had a lot of halo vibes, just a little less futuristic or militaristic, but still, and I love halo! Just imagine fight against scarabs or a big battle in the halo universe with this version of D2D with a little more futuristic vibes and military sound, gives me chills just even think about it.
Like Breaking Benjamin, Steve Vai, Hoobastank, Incubus and Misha Mansoor, The Warning should do a song for Halo!
Glad you mentioned Misha. He's been one of my more recent influences and part of how I got into all this virtual instrument stuff.
Never put a lot attention on his work on periphery but his songs in Halo 2 Anniversary and his work in Animals As Leaders is amazing

Blown away. I scanned quickly through your channel and found both EDM and some orchestral arrangement. No idea what you are doing or where you are going but I can definitely say that you have what I would call “it”. I have followed a sort of documentary about a sports team for some time and they have a very skilled good cameraman and editor that can tell the story in short clips through the camera lens and of course they have music that propeller the story. Your work would fit 100% into this type of documentaries / movie. Guess that you are just not “discovered” yet. Wish you all luck
Thanks! That was very nice of you to say, and I appreciate you checking out the other work. I don't really know where I'm going with this either. I used write music with a friend and we did music for video projects, but work and time took me in a different direction. During my jobless COVID-19 downtime a few months ago I just started getting back into writing music again to fill my time. I figured I'd just keep the momentum going.

How long did it take you to do this particular arrangement? 2. Do you have any thoughts as to doing another The Warning song ? (Narcisista maybe?) Anyway as I said before. @@mrrec1144 I think I worked on it on and off for about two weeks. I'm playing around with some ideas for other songs, but I don't have any concrete plans right now. Mostly just working on stuff as a learning experience for now.
