Nah idk if it was sample clearence because they're still making money off the Gala release. My guess is they both decided to troll everyone knowing it went crazy and took it off. The 2 songs they replaced were objectively both in the top 3 on the album so it kind of tracks
@@Ski-DooSafari they're gala music exclusive. according the gala discord their deal ends in late october (24th or 27th i think) so they'll be on streaming services soon
This song feels like the inverse of 523, its like if that one is "im hiding in the bathroom because im running out of ways to avoid it" than "All the Small things" is like, "im having some much needed me time because i understand that i need it" Its being trapped vs being alone and comfortable on purpose
lmao at everyone saying it’s an exclusive or saying he couldn’t clear the sample. he said himself it’s because blink 182 wouldn’t let him release it cause he ripped off their lyrics and song title .
Pray we find this sample. Sample snitches, do your work 🙏 *Before you read this, next steps are in the last paragraph if you just wanna' know how to help* Edit: Ok so I've been on and off looking into this probably more than I should and there's a couple things I want to point out. - The song that we're looking for is some version of "If Only You Knew" by Patti Labelle. It's pretty obviously some cover of the song (this info was on a random Subreddit for months thanks to a guy who actually knows the sample and isn't saying it but at the bare minimum gave a few clues). He also said the year '83 is a hint somehow - I've scanned through a ton of covers and live performances but I still can't track down the original sample. Whatever it is is mid 80s or later judging by the FM synth piano (the same sound is featured in some of Labelle's live performances, none of which are of a good enough fidelity to be the sample). Her Apollo Theatre concert in 1991 (which has a physical album) is a good example and about the closest I can find to the actual sample. - idk How ALC feels about really dissecting samples, but there's an isolated vocal clip at the end. If he was as traditional as he says he is then that means there are two samples at play here or possibly one rare 12" single with isolated vocals. There's another instance of this when the lead voice and chords do that tape stop thing he likes to add to his beats, you can still hear a choir singing. Also worth mentioning, I think the synth chop comes from the solo section in the cover song. Pretty much every cover I've heard features a solo from either a guitar or a synth. - I've heard a lot of buzz about it being a rare 80s gospel record, but I don't really know if that's the whole story. If we're looking at the vocals isolated it's a safe bet that's what it is (further adding to my thought of two samples) but then you're still left with the isolated vocals at the end which might not even be the same thing and the instrumental part of the sample. idk If any of this info is helpful, but it's there. A big help would be decoding the lyrics from the choir / singing. It's currently 3AM for me and I'm extremely tired so I don't wanna' do that. If someone can figure out the lyrics that might help make this search a bit easier. If any particular mfs (looking at you, mid producer and Reddit guy) wanna' just say the sample so I can hear this song that'd be dope too. Any idiot who's hiding the sample, can you at least tell me if I'm on the right track? Here's an AI assisted isolation of the instrumental, but I find the clean mix makes it a bit easier to hear the vocals (even if Earl won't shush for a minute): czcams.com/video/t0OG9Xkqocc/video.html PLEASE help guys I just wanna' go to bed rn 😭
anyone know what the sample is? Edit: Nevermind, I'll just find it myself. I saw the whole "No sample snitching" thing. I kinda find it to be bogus cause I listen to a lot of old school. The Stylistics, X-Clan, The Delfonics, Isley, and some others. Edit (Literally took me 2 seconds.): Found it. Look, to whoever gets mad at me for this, I love music and appreciate the classics. 50's-90's have shaped music. Of course, not so much today which I truly do hate, just copy and paste. But since I have a love for music, I believe that people looking for the sample also appreciate the classics, and I love that. With that being said, the sample is *My Favorite Sport by Roper Williams.* You're Welcome. Edit: Okay, it may not be the actually sample, but it's close. I'm still gonna search for it. It kinda sounds like Prince though.
This is great and thank you for the help, this is a beat that uses the same sample. I reached out to roper and he said he doesn’t wanna tell it out of respect for Alchemist
I saw the name and was like haha it's the same name as that one blink 182 song that's a funny coincidence and then he "turn the lights off carry me home" and I was like oh this IS a blink 182 reference ok
For ppl asking why this isn't on the album, it's likely a Gala Music (NFT Website) Exclusive. Less likely a sample clearance issue.
Yeah I seen he still promotes these songs with the album. Probably 3 exclusives
