I think this is great hire. She played under one of the best.
I'm happy they hired someone so we can hit that portal and the recruiting trail. I will not be upset if the current team goes with Brooks, he brought them to Tech. He is their coach. I have always felt it was not fair to the player for the coach to leave and the players be stuck at a school where the coach is not who they thought they would be playing for. It will work out...he started something here-we need more money to go to the program AND we need to figure out what the heck is going to happen with the ACC....there is a lot up in the air- plus the baseball team is kicking ass!!! lol ⚾

Donors/sponsors basically paying for national championships now. NIL is gonna destroy parity in bball forever unless the NCAA changes things
Moral of the story: Don't get too emotionally connected to a coach. They'll leave, and they'll take their team with them. All the "This is home!" is coach-speak.

Kim Mulkey talked about having someone on her staff responsible for transfer portal and another for NIL, so she could just focus on coaching. That's another thing more resources helps with.

We saw that Amoore rode Kitley to success. Amoore was better last year. We saw that her game is limited and she has peaked
Great podcast, great perspective on all the WBB drama. Why when Whit puts out false leaks about what coaches he is going after considered "Savvy" but when CKB deflects or doesn't answer a question about him interviewing for another job considered "Lying"? LOL! He didn't want to distract the players from focusing on the game. The same way he didn't want to announce Kitley's injury so the other teams could game plan for just GA. Lastly... Georgia spent 4yrs at VT which is a normal college career. She will play her "bonus" year at another school just like the kid from BC last year and the kid from WF this year (Everyone loved them). For that she shouldn't have her jersey retired?
Nope. Not on board with zero school loyalty from coaches and players. Hell. Think I'll be a UVA fan next season. James Madison the following year. Maybe an sec school afterward.
Loyalty to the school and area. It should mean something. Damn shame it's dismissed as a bullshit expectation.

LOL just last week I was asking why they were considering Edmonds when Duffy has more of a proven track record and lo and behold that's who they get! THis is the perfect hire and she might even be able to convince Amoore to stay since Megan was a point guard at Notre Dame.
There's a good possibility that she will bring some players with her as well 🤷🤷

These coaches can't use a 'system' that requires a year or two to understand. It will be more like AAU ball.
I disagree somewhat with David. The fan turned on him MORESO because of the way it was handled, the press conference in KY, and the lack of contact. So the repsonse by fans was NOT as viral that early. The Amoore reaction might be moreso because she could go pro and she doesn't go to KY, she will be remembered well. But this feels like she COULD go pro but chose to take her "I love HokieNation" to where she says "I love KY Blue" "Blue is the best"... It is different if stars leave after a year or so...but to be here for 4-5 years and then leave.? I don't think fans are so Beamer influenced. I think it is about HOW things are done.. While Brooks could have done something, yes,,,anything he said would be taken as disingenuous

Kenny lamented many times during press interviews that he wanted some McDonalds All Americans. He will use UK NIL to bring them in.
