His ideas sculpted solid like its wood, his poetry nurtured by the essence of its leaves, his thirst satiated by the water of its roots, and the colors of his deepest dreams blended with the natural beauty of its branches.
On a cold October night filled with the earth’s raging anger and the wrath of heavens his first cries were heard. Rudy Rahmeh was born on that night in 1967 in Bsharri. He was born in a storm and a storm was born in him.
It was not a strange thing for Rudy the child to acquire from the elements of his surroundings great strength within his arms and an extremely fertile speed of thoughts , because it is there where the glorious elements of earth gather the closest to the sky , and it is there where a mighty cedar tree named after the almighty, “ the tree of god” resides.

This documentary is a MASTERPIECE. There are so many powerful messages within it. A very emotional video. Thought-provoking & spirituality-provoking. I’ll attempt to translate here just a few of the video’s key messages. We salute you Rudy Rahme for transforming our outlook on Lebanon & life broadly. We salute you Anthony Rahayel for uncovering these untold stories. I was totally engaged watching this video from start to finish. Please watch this video, please share it, please help those that may have trouble understanding all the Arabic, to get a sense of just how powerful the messages here are, including :
- Lebanon is a land like no other as it is a land saturated by faith in God. The stories of its many saints for example, saints like no others anywhere else, whose spiritual connection & unity with the land made them in the images we see today.
- Women are so much more than what we see portrayed in the anatomy of the female. They are everything in the world, they are nature, beauty, strength, resilience, they are the source of life and it’s everything.
- We don’t take the time to learn about art and the artists behind art that speaks & sings even, like Rudy Rahme’s does - there is endless learning to be had from spending as little at 15 minutes a week reading about the life and work of an artist because they have a unique ability to dream, envision, inspire and imagine new possibilities, or speak to the Lord above like we see in so much of this breathtaking art.
- There is a power so strong, beyond what we can probably comprehend, that’s hovering over Lebanon, that comes from the immense, immense faith of our grandfathers before us and we cannot & must not turn a blind eye to that - nothing and no-one will shake us or knock us down.
- Anthony is breaking down the barriers that have prevented us from seeing the real & true Lebanon, only he has been able to expose this & only when we take the time to learn about that Lebanon, will we really be able to appreciate it, protect it, be loyal to it & love it like it like it deserves to be loved.
