10 minutes of this is a long time, 3 hours is for those wanting to get an idea of the concept of eternity
We don't have figure 8 tracks in my state anymore, so it's cool to see what these are like (along with various other kinds of races), love your channel. 🏁🏎
1:17:50 crash in the figure 8 if that's all you're here for
im not sure why else to be here lol, im amazed there are so few wrecks
This would be a lot better if they would not stop the race. Let them go!
You mean 1:17:57 that’s where it happens
1:46:23
My brother is the 28
Did the announcer really just say that its like a good drug the first taste is free
This is so funny. "i dont know where they found a seat big enough to hold that sack!" "i hope you brought your xanax cuz your gonna need to pop a couple to get through this race" "the first taste is free. its like a good drug, we give you the first taste free" LMAO this guy is a fucking savage!!!
@@MrMusicboy420 Thank you
@@torrystiles8848 your a beast. i respect your political incorrectness. i dont know how they got a seat to hold your sack with all these liberal SJW PC Nutcases running around lmao.
@@MrMusicboy420 Relax kiddo or you'll blow your load for the 17th time today.
You want to know how they got a seat? It's low-budget tv, he bring his own seat and on top of that; it's one of the smallest sacks on earth 👌
@@MrMiss-cp9bw why are you being so mean? do you typically go around looking for someone to harass online?
wow, I didn't think this was done outside of video games
Vince Jeffrey videos don’t do it justice. You have to come to a race in person.
Somebody needs to see the opening to The Love Bug. I watched that opening repeatedly as a child.

@@bentunny8978 This. I grew up watching it every year, raced my first race in 2017; I wasn't ready. Nothing can explain how tight and flat the track is, and how bad the visibility coming out of the turns are. It's insane. Can't wait to be back in 2023! You've won quite a few big ones since this comment!
It was a pleasure working production for this event, I had an absolute blast! I hope I get to do this again sometime soon!
Ian
I want to see this racing with SMART cars
Suprisingly clean racing for a figure 8 race...
Too much money in these cars. Back in the 80's when they had 70-75 cars show up, it wasn't unusual for 55-60 cars on the track in the last half of the race. Then things could easily get abused. Once your been on the track as a starter or an alternate, you could come in and out of the pits as needed. That's where the cars would add up.
Greatest announcer ever
Thank you ... I think.
This is amazing to watch
"Sometimes I like to fill my bath tub with spaghetti sauce, bathe in it and pretend i'm a meatball" Golden. lmao
So they're using big V8s in a race that's all about grip, acceleration and saving fuel?
That's what makes it fun
And speed. This was the closest field in the history of the race. You have to be fast enough to make the fastest 28.
V8s are good for acceleration, no?
@@xmbdesign7421 They can be, but with how short the acceleration zones are you'll be better off with something with less cylinders, or electric (though with races like this I'd stay away from that for weight safety reasons). You can do just as well with an engine from a Subie or Porsche: compact but still nice and powerful.
@@bentunny8978 Speed in this case is all of my points combined. V8s are heavier than say a straight-six, while (possibly) making more power than you can actually use and using more fuel to do so. I understand V8s are easy to come by and cheap because of mass production, and sound good, but with a good deal for engine provider you can get some lightweight speed that sounds good. Then again, can't name an American company that makes I6s so there'd very likely be import charges :P
Best commentator ever
Top shelf commentary.
Thank you... I truly appreciate the opportunity.... and the lack of censorship.
Start is at 9:35 in case anyone wants to skip the intro.
grate job guys thank you all you guys.
Thanks for posting!
Yeah that announcer has some pretty funny lines...He was cracking me up lmao
This episode is brought to you by Xanax. "If you havent had any yet, you better pop a couple now."
These cars look rad!!!
I'm from Belgium, I knew some weird things were going on in the US, but I realise I had no idea, I thought that kind of thing only existed in Japan
Imagine trying to keep track of this madness before transponders existed my goodness. "Who won?" "Beats me but there was some sick crashes" lmao
This is a great racing event. I'm from new England and we don't have any figure 8 stuff anymore. I remember in the '80's watching it at Claremont speedway in New Hampshire with about 35 cars on a figure 8 course on the 1/3 mile. Super fun and tense action.
There is one thing though- these guys need to learn the meaning of a RED flag. It means STOP!! I saw cars moving at least 35-40 seconds or more after the red and that's just unacceptable. There could be injury or someone in a precaution position and it delays the safety crew from responding.
What happend? Why don't they have banger 8s anymore?
I wish they’d include figure 8 racing in the olympics.
This is amazing! I hope the commentator is well paid 🤣
Man that is great! Never seen this before
1:46:27 shows you how crazy these drivers are
took me about a week to finish the whole race but it was fun and worth the time it took to finish it
miss my uncle whom used to race there George Sutton
57:17 .. gimme a thumbs UP if you have ALSO "jumped on it like a drunk lady at the VFW Hall" ..
This. This right here is why the public doesn't take our sport seriously.
Bro I’m so glad I race circle track lmao the figure 8 track seems like such a stupid destructive idea
like everything in america . pure carnage without any clue
Mmm and i would like to know where you're from so i can make a stereotypical guess
@@fusionattraction4044 austria , and ye its a shithole who let migrants take over .
I don’t really see any carnage and there is all kinds of clues of what’s going on. There are some that don’t have a clue lol, but for the most part.
#NASCARMONSTERENERGYCUP you should race here
You know nothing about the current state of the cup series in NASCAR if you think they will race here..
Yea i know they could never run here, it was a joke. they are to Aero dependent and, i dont think the bumper could make it up the lip going into the turns.
Can you just imagine a 40 car field running 500 laps or something, that would be awesome
Now a really good idea for NASCAR is it to build a 3 Mile highbank figure eight. s
Split the field in have one pack starts in turn 1and 2, the other pack starts in 3 and 4. The run a restrictor-plate race last one still rolling wins
If you want NASCAR to race there its gonna take a midlife crisis for them
I remember Tony Stewart saying something similar to that after a Talladega race in 2010 I belive
Why not hook up trailers and install a mandatory jump in turn 3. It's already a survival race but the trailers give a nice equal factor.
The most crazys zig zaz racing figure 8so awsome, how did the winners escape from bumpin to others, woe
...da fuk did I just watch here!? 🤣 never seen racing like this before!! Reminds me of driving in Indonesia 🤣
Oh yeah! 😮
is that Zack Larson from deadliest catch?
What qualfies this to be a "World Championchip"?
Ch Dr bc there is no other race in the world like this one. It’s one of a kind.
@@bentunny8978 Ah so its not a world championchip, Ok thanks
Well considering this is the highest achievement for this sport, open to anyone, I would consider it a World Championship.
@@RA23GT I think your just mad you didn't get in the gate bud lol
This announcer is the man
We need this in F1.
"It's not dangerous for another car to hit yours at 180mph with lateral force."
Said no one ever.
Big shit poppin
I would love to see this race shot without a cameraman in static long shot taking in the entire track. Then you would see the skills, tactics and mistakes that each driver is making at each point of the course.
when you realize this isnt just clips but the whole damn race
I'm from the UK, we don't have this, but I wish we did, can you explain why the cars are designed like this
Go mark Tunney
I wanna know how this place isn’t sold out???
It was but we had to run on Monday after three days of rain-outs.
*"YOU WILL BE TOWED AWAY"*
:)
what the, thats faarkin insane
Does anyone know if shackleford is ok?
Yes he was ok
what is the point of flags if the whole event is about crashing into each other?
Matthew Humberstone for when theres a to big crash
The purpose of our type of figure 8 racing is NOT to crash into each other. This isn’t a sideshow. Our race cars are worth quite a Bit of money. That’s what makes this type of figure 8 racing so damn exciting, not only racing the cars through the turn, but try not to get hit through the cross over.
It's not the crashes, but the _lack_ of crashes that makes this so exciting. Most of the caution flags are for pileups in the turns as drivers jockey for position.
Could you guys upload a video of Kenyon Midgets (if you weren’t there when they were running it’s ok)
G4 and 77 r my drivers
Ok which g is this lol?
how are the stands not full?
We were supposed to race on saturday but it rained out and even sunday so it was ran on monday. I had to go to school the next day but it was worth it
I was there. crazy race! you coming down for the 200 lap Showtime race again? I'll be running my new car.
Why do you guys build these beautiful racecars and I assume spend hours on them just to have a chance to crash them so hard each lap?
@@TroyPennington human beings love destruction
@@TroyPennington also they can win $20k so ya
Bc there isn’t anything more exciting. Most of us all grew up in this kind of racing. It’s a huge rush to shoot the cross over and make it through.
Matt Smith damn right!
Bruh skip through the vid like 30 mins at a time and notice how the announcer slows down LMAO
I think Low Budget needs to upgrade their name now
Figure 8 racing, lol, I first know about this in an extreme sports show in AXN back in 2003... America really has a weird culture. Figure 8 tracks in the rest of the world always involve an overpass and an underpass, but never with paths crossed.
This is so funny. "i dont know where they found a seat big enough to hold that sack!" "i hope you brought your xanax cuz your gonna need to pop a couple to get through this race" "the first taste is free. its like a good drug, we give you the first taste free" "slow children become hood ornaments" LMAO this guy is a fucking savage!!!
I’ve never seen such shiny tires
Thats all that tire dope. Soaked in softening compound and wrapped in cellophane for weeks. You can damn near scoop tread off with your hands come race day.
@30:50 The stalled car #16 pop started his engine, when he got rear ended by the other car !!!!!!!!!!!!
it is way better in person
This is fucking insane
I see some dampness on that asphalt
It had rained steadily all weekend. We ran this on a Monday evening.
Some hard hits at the cross over, some hesitation before the big crash 🤦🏻♂️ hope everyone's ok. Next on my list is to Race out there in indiana with the big boys, speedrome here I come ! thank u low budget tv. For the coverage & For all u do 📹📽📱🖥👍🏁🏁🏁 #Figure8mafia
how do they know whos lap down and everything?
@@BFORTHEV Maybe they use transponders, not sure
They have transponders.
Transponders and scorers that score the race
Looking forward to seeing you again, Big Ant.
Those 2 cars collided at what, 50 mph? I used to do that with a lap belt and keep on going. Kids just need to tuffin up these days
JustAnAverageJoe we are running about 80-85
Why?
‘MURICA at it’s finest
do they go fast enough for those rear side wings to be effective; they sure look stupid, I would like to see them race without them on all speedways.
So, I paid you $40 to watch this live, now you post it on You Tube?
Shhhhhh, don’t question it, their flawed logic favors us.
oof
I've payed nothing and still I feel robbed
G Spawn
Fun Fact for you. There IS a contradiction to me paying for it then and being able to watch it for free now.
You paid for the live coverage not the rights to the video.... Get off your ass and race like them
Not enough Tunnys in this race in my opinion.
I agree. Could've used a 5th Tunny and a 4th Harmon
It's a race where the track is designed to cause crashes and chaos but, when one does finally happen, everyone freaks out and they stop the race?
Go 3t of mark tunny
Fire me up i like the idea but id Run figure 8 for 6 hours with the crown vics or rangers so the fans have something to watch (intersection) instead of counting laps. They do one in Indiana that's 3 hours
I think the announcer had a stroke during the first 30 seconds
im a kid i do the legends
What about a 24-hour-literally-driving-in-a-circle-with-the-wheel-turned-all-the-way-to-the-left race?
Take the dang tweets off the whole screen!
imagine being the guy that has to score this and keep track of where everyone is. they have lap down, half lap down, lead lap. imagine scoring this for 3 HOURS! go to 16:30 to see what i am talking about.
Imagine the wealth of small electronics (for mounting on/in the car), software solutions and other 'do-daats' at your disposal to alleviate such a simple headache.
Or lets stop imagining it's a one man job.
@@MrMiss-cp9bw it was a smartass comment. oof. i was just trying to be funny!
We run transponders and there are also a handful of human scorers.
@@bentunny8978 yeah i figured there was a realistic way of going about it.
I figured 8 people scored the race.
Yeeeeeeh haaaaw, there's not enough possible crashin in naskurr so we invented this shit! Gotta keep myself entertained somehow when I'm not fukin me sisturrr.
Every time I think the race is getting boring the announcer opens his mouth
Thank you
Has anyone heard of what happened to the illegally parked Frog??? He got Toad...
This is really stressful to watch.
1:10:01 LIGMA
Thanks man!
Jesus, outlaw cars doing figure 8 is the craziest idea I've ever seen lmfao
You have to be really wasted to enjoy this thing lol
Grace vanderwaal
Starts at 9:40 thank me later
This race would be a lot better if they would NEVER stop the race. Then drain their master cylinders.
that would be awesome, always streaming, never ending
Anxiety overload
2:27:33 thank me later
Lol... awesome!
Missed most of the crashes cause the dam camera man want keep it on the cross. Lost me !!!!
Think as a wise man but communicate in the language of the people.
Ayy first like and comment
3 hour race. 2.5 hours of which is yellow flag
2:02:52 is how NOT to film a wreck... what kinda shit camera work was that
to think i wasted any time on this is just crazy. Hmm i wonder what people wanna see in a figure 8 race is it the intersection the only thing that makes this unique or is it the leader? and also lets change cameras right when two people hit theyll love that, you apparently
😂😂😂
Lets Go Brandon...White ;)
Watched an hour and got frustrated with the announcer and the cameraman. This race is LONG! No need to follow the leader like it’s a NASCAR race. Seems both the announcer and cameraman could learn a lesson from watching a few porn movies.
Announcer: the more a porn star talks, the less believable the scene. Less is always more in a sport like this. Give us the updates from time to time, tell us a few funny stories in the meantime. That’s about all a race like this really needs. The rest is pretty much self explanatory until about 20 minutes to go. At that point... feel free to do the horse race announcer thing :)
Camera,an: there is such a thing as the “money shot.” That’s what people pay to see. They don’t pay to see the buildup, then cut to the wet sheets afterwords. Pan it out, and take a 3 hour break. This shit sells itself. The cameraman literally followed the lead car like this was a NASCAR race. This ain’t no NASCAR race. The real action in a race like this is in the crossover when it becomes constantly active. This guy... oh he was following the lead car and then cut away to wet sheets. “Oh look, a crash.”
Hey, don’t be mad at me for my comparison... the announcer started it, “It’s like a good drug. The first taste is free, then you got pay.”
