I remember back in the day, family, and friends would get together, and help each other on projects. We kids would have the best of times, we helped, but we got to see people we didn't ordinarily see everyday. Good to see Brian, have missed him. Love what you are doing, your doing what many of us would like to do. To late for me, to old now. Happy to see you have a mailing address now. Can't wait for the next video on this.

Best fried catfish I ever put in my mouth was at an isolated, no-name gas station smack in the middle of Texas. It was something of a local secret we stumbled into while on a Harley road trip. A group of ladies did a fish fry in the back of the gas station every Friday night, and they'd obviously been doing it their whole lives. Quite the well-oiled machine - no pun intended! The gas station had a nice little seating area hidden out back and we had a fabulous time eating, drinking and getting to know the local folks. You just never know what you'll find or who you'll meet when you take the blue lines on the map.

I think of all the history that goes along with these old houses. You wonder about the people too and their lives through this time who lived there. Yes! I grew up in a tiny Agrarian (Ag-focused) Mennonite settlement in SW OK (1,200 pop.), & an Interstate Hwy. is: 20 min.s away. The local gas & diesel stations are used by the elder farmers & ranchers for early-mornin' coffee & a short visit, before their work days begin. The local high schoolers are allowed off-campus for lunch, & the gas stations are over run at noon by high schoolers, grabbing a bite to eat. (Our cafeteria ladies make great food--Bierox is one traditional favorite--browned beef, caramelized chopped onions & scalded shredded cabbage, all wrapped into a: "meat-pie", stuffed inside a browned, buttery Zwiebock dinner roll, & they can be smothered with: thick, hot, cheddar cheese soup--MMMmm! They make many delicious recipes.) But: that gas-station food can be a welcome "change" from the total subversive environment of Dutch, Swiss, German & Russian-based: old Mennonite recipes that almost every family in the area eats at home, every day. Thanks for sharing your honorable work at one of the old: "Byrd" plantation homes, there in GA. That family line has a great genealogical history-nice to see this progress in restoring the land. If you plan on working the land: Joel Salatin has some wonderful books, a website & he is featured on many You Tube channel interviews, focusing on Sustainable, Simple Agriculture practices. ("Polyface Farms" is Mr. Salatin's incorporated farm business name.) God Bless You.

I love what you are doing. I Love old houses. Please don't take this the wrong way, but Please put on protective glasses. My son almost got hit in the eye (there was blood) and it was my fault.(I was the one who threw the limb). I didn't even think of putting on protective glasses.

Very cool that you video the progress as you work and discover the lot.

Some folks may not think forty is very cold, but it’s still the legal definition of a refrigerator! 🥶

You need to rent a bobcat with a mulcher. You can take down small trees with the thing. Take care of this in an afternoon.

How rooted are the trees that are near the house? I’m just curious if it compromised the foundation.
