This couldn't of been a more timely video, I'm running my first DnD session in the past 2 years next week and I was looking for some yellowy, brown swampy goblins then up pops your video with exactly what I was looking for! Just ordered a box and will definitely be following your recipe for the skin, love the vids!
Really glad to hear it. I got a proper D&D vibe from a couple of the bodies in the box, too - I think you'll have a great time with these guys on the table. :D
I did mine in a very similar way, with copper metals that have steel or iron bits bolted on. One of the things I like about these goblins is that there are enough fine details that you could put a lot of work into them, or you could just do a few colours for batch paints and they'll still look just fine. I only did ten for minions of a Mordheim party, so I took my time and did some details with them. If I ever want an army of them though, I'll simplify it and just put those first guys in the front ranks!

Had a coal bunker and a scuttle , was my first household chore ," Go fill the scuttle !" It was all ways worst in the past , Ha The good old days , :-) .
That little green dude reminds me of a violent version of a goblin from Labirynth! Especially with his bucket helmet and janky shield. Fantastic Frostgrave army.... mostly goblins with the wizard looking like David Bowie's Goblin King : D
Fairly sure I painted a Fallschirmjäger's trousers skin colour, it didn't occur to me until after he was varnished and based that maybe I'd chosen the wrong colour :D
Would be keen to see a video looking at your mini collection one day. Must have a ton of random minis with all these freebies you get sent to paint on top of you're actual armies!
I really like the end result... you take a lot of my overthinking away haha.. I think something not rocket science can't look good and yet with you it always does. :D
Love the metallic colours you have chosen and the miniature is full of character.the "coal bucket" on his head is actually called a coal skuttle if you want to get your description 100%accurate 😉 😆😅🤣😂
Yea, the new goblins and ratkin models from Mantic are really nice. I really look forward to all the new plastics from them. Great video as always, you have helped me a lot actually with getting the right dry brush density with the cardboard, works every time for me now.
Really loving the goblins from Mantic. Busy packing to hobby at the moment but once we have the new place my goblins are some of the first things that will get a lick of paint.
So I bought some of the goblins and one is the king, but I've run into a problem with the king as being he is on a stone platform I'm trying to put him and the stone on a base that is going to be set up as if he's in a swamp. Not sure if I should prime him then put him on with the Strickland mud mix first or do both him and the bases seperate. Can you do a paint and basing example of how you would tackle the king model please?🥺
Which ones did you get? A while back I bought some of the Forge Father stuff and I was in the same boat, ready to swear off Mantic entirely. The Ratkin and Goblins are really nice kits by comparison, and the Halflings look pretty good as well. Their earlier stuff hasn't aged well at all, I'll admit, but I'd be happier if they were all like this.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Orcs Greatorex regiment, Fight wagons x 3 and Grudger’s gang. I made it to one fight wagon and tore what remains of my hair out. Awful stuff and never again.
Back in my day we just sat by our coal buckets spinning our miniatures by hand and we liked it just fine

I like Hobgrot Hide too, it's nice for a kind of tan leather colour, a touch of gross and green that works for something like a rifle sling
I just got a set of these and they fit in perfect with my Warhammer Fantasy Orc forces that I'm using for D&D.
The coal bucket on the head of the Goblin is great! I like the colors and it looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing this.

My request has been answered 😁. Great work mate, I went with the traditional light green skin on my Mantic gobbos but I do like that darker tone 👍

Not a whole regiment, but I've done five figures at a time. Twenty miniatures is a lot of work for something like this!

Always great vids but I hated the Mantic figs I bought (Ill fitting parts and crap to glue) so got rid of the lot. Sticking with Warhammer.
