I have 220 hours in Sandrock, and every time I start a new game and go through that intro I just get chills. The music in this game is so on point. You're meant to be 18/19ish, just starting out after school. There is fall damage, but it's from higher up, so have fun jumping off roofs and stuff. You CAN'T survive jumping off the lift into the mining area. I tested it. For science. There is a page 2 of Qi's data disc research pages, a lot of people miss it! The dark circles around your eyes aren't eyeshadow, they're because you stayed up too late. As long as you go to bed on time, you won't get them. Arvio does sell some concealer if you want to stay up late anyway and want to just cover up the circles. I ADORE Burgess. I am so glad the devs finally made him romanceable. Yeah, he's not the most handsome pick in town, but he is just the sweetest guy ever. If you make the furnace, you can just make bricks without needing to rely on the chance of getting them in the recycler.
Piper, you're the best! Thank you so much for answering so many of my questions and all the useful tips! I really appreciate it! FOR SCIENCE! I can't believe the DETAIL in having the option to purchase concealer for those dark circles That's amazing. Loving this game so far, I can see why you would have over 200 hours sunk into it!! Thanks again!!
I know this is an old comment but I just started on switch and the fact that ur meant to be 18/19 is very funny to me, my character looks like an old man!
I love that we can quick save! I can't tell you how many times I lost all progress in sv and ci because my computer crashed or I didn't have time to play through an entire day
My time at Sandrock looks amazing was a big fan of Portia. My favorite feature is the building mechanic, really satisfying placing each part down and seeing what's being built, most games with crafting just create the item suddenly.
The feature that is my favorite in My Time at Sandrock is the building feature. I enjoyed the building aspect when I played My Time at Portia. Building as a focus of the game and story progression is such a neat focus.
I only started to play ‘my time at Portia’ but I can already tell that sandrock is so much better, thank you Sarah for showing this off my favourite part is the immersion and the gathering.
that reply feature is so cool! really seems to add so much to the game, even though it doesn't even look super complicated. i'm excited to see how this game will grow :D
My Time at Portia was a really fun game. MTAS pushed it even further. Was able to play for a bit during the playtest but multiplayer was not yet available then. Multiplayer co-op is probably the feature that I wish MTAP had.
Excited to see you exploring this world. I've been playing it since the start of early access, and I am impressed with how responsive the development team is. They took so many suggestions from the community regarding Portia and improved Sandrock so much with them. The world is incredibly detailed, immersive, and growing. I am looking forward to more games within the universe in the future. They do such a good job at connecting the world and making you invested in the characters.
I think my genuinely favourite thing about this game is the graphics and the art design. I absolutely love it!!!! Seeing you play it like this has definitely inspired me to buy it myself!! ❤
Wow this game looks huge! I would definetely say the most standout aspect of the game to me is the uniqueness of the setting, creatures, and little features here and there that I have not seen in other games. Thanks for the amazing video Sarah
So many thoughtful features that as a cozy gamer, make me get the warm and fuzzies that the devs put so much intention into their game! Thank you so much for watching, Jack!
I never heard about this game before but it looks amazing. There is so much to do. I love all the characters' interactions and how the machine building works
I absolutely love the voice acting for the characters. Each npc already has their own unique characteristics, but the voice acting just add that little extra personality 🥰💖
Changing games always affects views but I'm really happy you're playing this game, giving it a try, it's so fun and really well done, plus the intrinsic message of recycling and saving resources is so good, it deserves more visibility 🎉❤
I really appreciate you saying that! I've always only shared content that I genuinely want to create and have been playing more games lately that I want to play! It would be a shame to miss out on gems like this game, and being able to share it with all of you
Ok I was casually interested in this game before, but now I'm actively interested in it. Looks so good! Thanks for the video, Sarah! ☺and my favorite feature is the water conservation aspect. It completely makes sense as you're in a desert, but it's not something I've encountered a lot in games, and it looks very interesting!
I've played My time at Portia and am a kickstarter for Sandrock. I really love this series and so excited to see you play it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
I've been eyeing this game up for a while. Just in the first few minutes you made me want to get it, especially since it 20% off on Steam right now. I could see myself taking at least 20 minutes with my character, it took me almost that long to decide on an outfit in Coral Island last night.
My fav feature is the multiplayer. I wish My Time at Portia would have had multiplayer to play with some friends so I'm really happy the added it in the sequel
I am so happy you play MTAS, I have play this game but currently stopped while waiting for more story advancement. Hope you will have chance to play more on this game. Have fun.
me, watching the whole customization for create-a-character: i am tempted to get this.. just for the character creation.. video: Pen shows up me: why am i already hating you?? oh.. he has the same energy as Gaston..
To me, My Time at Portia seems like it was released recently (around 2017) and has got a sequal in five years time? (especially since this game is underrated or should i say, not very popular)? The game is very high quality as well! I have watched a live stream from another person playing Portia. If i had to choose which to play between the two, i normally always go with the one that was released first (in this case, Portia then Sandrock) PS love the fact that there are voice actors!
This was so fun to watch, Sarah! Your jokes made me laugh out loud multiple times! 😆 I totally get why you would feel overwhelmed-there is a LOT to do/keep track of! If you decide to play on stream in the future, the community should be able to help you out. Certain things aren’t immediately obvious, like the fact that you’ll get quests that aren’t necessarily meant to be completed linearly. I played My Time at Portia for a while and always found the lore fascinating, and I love the built-in sustainability message. So cool to see that My Time at Sandrock has just as much or more! Being able to track quests and NPC movements on the map was the best feature ever. I hope you continue to play if you’re finding it fun! Enjoy your time building! 😊❤
Looks awesome, hopefully it works well for the Steam deck! LOL your character creation comments hit home, I spend an hour usually making mine, drives my husband crazy 😂
I was looking for videos on this game as I was interested in picking it up. I have to say Sarah, this was a wonderful video, not only was it a good overview, but your presentation style is so cosy and warm, its different to what I usually watch, but I'm for sure subscribing.
I loved my time at Portia, I'm so excited to play sandrock. I'm really excited that you can respond to letters now. It really adds an extra layer of immersion. I also love the combat tutorial.
I really like the voice acting idk if that counts but sometimes when I’m too tired it’s hard to read, I also like how it seems like it shows you how to play but still telling the story
Yes! Absolutely counts. I felt like I was watching a movie through the tutorials/introductions, so it didn't FEEL like a tutorial ya know?! I loved the voice acting too, especially reading out loud for so many games, it was a nice break for me
This is definitely in my top 5 games of all time. I'm so excited to see you play :D I loved Portia so much but it was lacking some depth..and let me tell you Sandrock has ALL the depth. No for real tho I? absolutely adore the details, you can feel the love put into this game :) It has so much to do, even when you're waiting for an update because you finished the main story..you're still never bored because you can focus on so many different things. The characters are all so amazing and unique, it's the first game that makes me talk to everyone every day to see their reactions to the events that are going on. The new update broke my heart but it was so AWSOME. Can't wait to observe your journey :D
I love this game been playing it for awhile, just a few things for you. Make a furnace, you need that to craft things like bricks and bars that you don't get for the recycler. Also you will find out that you will need to research new machines to get other items to craft. Hope this helps if you haven't already. Thanks for the great play through.
This is the first time I've heard of this game and found out that this is actually a sequel. A shock for me, really. My favorite aspect of the game so far would definitely be the music. I'm a sucker for good music as it provides the mood I feel whenever playing (looking at you Genshin Impact)! Hopefully, this game releases their music on Spotify too, it would be nice to hear the music while I'm outside.
Too many features I'm loving about the game from this video alone. Looks like it may have good character development, the character creation, the ability to just sit down and rest up stamina early in the game. So many options!
Hi Sarah! I actually played My Time at Portia and I loved it! I love the way this game looks and I love the marriage aspects and I love the diverse character creation too! I also love that they added multiplayer! I can't wait to play with my husband. :) I think they did a great job creating this one and I can't wait to play it!
Soo happy to see you play this game! I've played the one before this, my time in portia, and i also love that in both games we can either spar or play a game with npcs. There is also the changing prices in general stores so it really feels like reality, which i don't know if I love it or I hate it 😂
It is great to see how much they have improved upon the first game, and I can not wait to see the final release version. But the only drawback I can say I have from the first game is the lack of voice acting from the player character. Even if it was one or two actors for male and female characters with a pitch control it would make it so much better for me. That said for anyone who actually reads this and does not know. NEVER ignore the refiner. It can make a HUGE difference in early game. Sadly I went 2 weeks without using it because it was not something explained or needed so I just left it as a side thought until I made one for a commission. Basically using certain found materials you can upgrade the quality of items you equip or use. For items like clothing it could mean a few extra stamina points or for tools more tool strength which translates to 1-2 less swings for mining or logging. Early game stamina control is critical. Having items with higher quality than needed for commissions can make a difference in earned xp and gols as well.
I heard devs went to China to study how to turn Gobi desert into a forest, they used that info along with many other things to create this game, I love their dedication!
I feel as though my favorite would probably end up being the exploring aspect! When it comes to games like these, I love exploring the map and seeing what it has to offer!
thank you for showing me this game. started playing My time at Portia after watching this video. my favorite part was mini game, but the whole game looks great and super fun.
This game is very addictive, I have 450 hrs with three different game plays. You can chop down the deadwood trees ( a few around your shop ) and kick the cactus. Once you finish your crane lift you will have access to the mines and collect a lot of materials for building things.
So happy your reviewing this game I played my time at portia waiting to get this game. I love the gathering and how the book is so detailed how to get materials. Can't wait to watch more of your videos 💚
This game seems awesome. Your character reminded me a bit of young Lara Croft from TR 4 and 5. The customization options and all the others features are impressive, but the art style and environment of the game are unique.
I have been playing MtaS since it released last year and is one of my favorite games. Peperbird has given you some good beginner tips! Just to let you know about quests: Orange is for main quests and they advance the story. Blue is for side quests that you can get, be careful as some of these are time sensitive and they will list how long you have to complete them in the mission tab. Green is for commissions. You reaaaaally want to get some dew collectors up and running soon. As that will be one your main sources of collecting water. (You convert dew into water on your work table)
Oh this looks SO good! I am currently playing throug MTAP, but I love the new feature of replying to emails. (AND that new character creation! It looks amazing!)
This is such a fantastic game. Wife and I are waiting for multiplayer. I know this video is from a month ago but a series on this game would be wonderful. I love Coral Island but something fresh would be fun. :)
oooh i found this because everyone mentioned it in the sun haven stream, and ahhhh it's so cute!!! 🥺when i saw the wanted poster for logan my first thought was, "oh is that one a romance option? 👀" 😂 and it's post-apocalyptic???? i want the lore!!! it sounds so fun. :') but i think my favorite feature was just being able to reply to letters, that's SUCH a cute touch!!
I hope you play more!!! My favorite part is definitely the crafting system. I love how in-depth it is and how the quality matters. I love grindy games. Also the mini games and The skill tree is amazing! So many favorite things lol😅
I discovered your channel through a CozyGames subReddit just yesterday and I am obsessed. I also just bought this game because of this video, loving this so far
I love everything about this game but my favorite part would be how real it feels and I can get so immersed in it so quickly I haven't played it yet I'm waiting for it to come out on the switch I love that it's set in the desert because I'm from Arizona and I love the Sonoran Desert I always love watching others play My Time At Sandrock in one of your earlier videos I was actually going to suggest that you play My Time At Sandrock
I love the idea of be a builder in this game and the mechanics that go along with it. It makes this game so unique in this genre. I love MTAP and I can’t wait to play this game as well!
I can't wait until My Time at Sandrock comes to the switch. I really enjoy My Time at Portia. I really enjoy being a builder and all the work that comes with it.
OH NO! I've been playing since they launched, it is hysterical love it! you might have a game that is going to rob more of your time!!!!! See you at Sandrock Island LOL I mean Sandrock just Sandrock!!!!
So glad you showed off this amazing game! Your gameplays are always so much fun as I love your humour and the way you play these cozy games. While my love is CI, I truly enjoy exploring new games with you!
Aw, thank you so much Faye! I really appreciate the support on games beyond just Coral Island I missed making videos of this format, so I'm glad you enjoyed
So if it's anything like portia age can range on 18 to however old you want lol. Bit fuzzy on if that's true I just remember we were never known as being younger than that 🤔 we are just tiny apparently
Also I am Texan, and it's obvious for some of the NPCs they did try going for a Texan accent, and they did a decent job lol. Others do have a more typical Southern accent.
I think my favorite in the game will be customization with the items and so far watching your game, the hair styles. I just bought a few games on no budget so sadly, I have to wait for buying this game. I am subscribed to you and watch your coral island playthroughs. Also have that game, Coral Island.
You did pretty good for the hair color, my first character's blonde hair looked orange by accident. At least there is a hair salon eventually, just gotta wait and I wonder if it'll unlock more hairstyles? I'd love more straight hair options. 😅
I really like this game. I do think this is a bit better than Portia IMO. One of my criticisms is the map layout, even for Portia, I wasn't a fan of that layout as well. I think the decorations giving stats is a great idea. I hope you keep up with this game.
I really hope you come back to this game. It’s not likely, given I’m replying a year later, but it’s something that could be a nice between updates game while waiting on Coral Island updates. The story of this game is AMAZING.
I haven’t finished the entire video yet but she has a couple of live streams of her playing the game - the most recent one covering pets in sandrock about 2 months ago :)
i played My Time at Portia early access and it felt really awkward to play (obviously a fair expectation out of an EA title) but it definitely kept my attention for a while, i stopped playing before it "launched", and then seeing them moving on to this was a little unfortunate that there wouldn't be anything more/dlc/etc, and i haven't been back to MTAP since before it launched even, but i'm glad they at least seemed to work on the flaws from that game into this one honestly, it feels like my favorite feature, despite not even being "new" to this game, is just being voice acted, it's such an easy-to-miss-not-really-necessary-addition to games that really makes it feel... i dunno... comfy? i'd rather be told a story, i mean you get all bundled up to play a cozy game and it feels like someone's there guiding you, rather than just "here's your story, enjoy it on your own" it's all this extra effort put into a game that feels very easy to get desensitized to if it's everywhere, but when you play games without it, it just kinda feels... empty? not like "awful", but it just feels like there's always "something missing" in a game that isn't voice acted, all these faces but no talking, like, i could just read a book by myself, and imagine the voices, or play a game with no talking and just reading and making up voices on my own in my head, or i could turn a game on and have someone there talking TO me, and it just feels like an extra bit of "oomph" added to the game, just by simply adding in more emotion and expressions rather than exclamation marks and multiple question marks over and over to exaggerate important feelings

I love how there is so much to do! The customization looks awesome and the Character designs are so pretty!
So happy to see the devs taking in feedback from gamers😍 it just keeps getting better and better
I'm loving it so much already and want to play more!! So many games, not enough time!
I never heard about this game before but it looks amazing. There is so much to do. I love all the characters' interactions and how the machine building works
Yes!! I really want to play more! It feels so immersive and detailed! Thank you for watching
My favourite feature is the vastly improved visuals on the characters. I loved Portia and i'm already loving this game too.

Kinda love the fact that each story part is well detailed to mimic certain lifestyles of the people.. amazing work by the devs
Ok I was casually interested in this game before, but now I'm actively interested in it. Looks so good! Thanks for the video, Sarah! ☺and my favorite feature is the water conservation aspect. I'd absolutely love to play more. I'll do my best to see if I can find a way to continue including it in my content schedule!
I loved My time at Portia. It was fun. And this new game is even better. I started it as well at the very beginning. 😍
My fav feature is the multiplayer. I wish My Time at Portia would have had multiplayer to play with some friends so I'm really happy the added it in the sequel
I’d love to see you play more of this!
I'd really like to play more toooo. I'm hooked!
@@sarahsunstone please do I will watch and like every episode!!!!

Amazing!! I'm so happy to hear you've been enjoying it! I'd love to play more
I love u did a video on this.. I hope u do a let's play! really enjoying all ur content! thank Sarah
“Yeah you should see my right hook” 😂
I truely love it all! But the main story is brilliant :)

Honestly, I'm excited about the NPC's. I love the character designs and I think Amirah is my fave so far😊
Looks awesome, hopefully it works well for the Steam deck! LOL your character creation comments hit home, I spend an hour usually making mine, drives my husband crazy 😂
Looks great! Looks like I'll need to pick up a copy. I hope the bachelors and bachelorettes are all super cute
sorryyy!! I think you'll really enjoy it !! So far I've been pleasantly surprised with some of the cute romance options!!
I was looking for videos on this game as I was interested in picking it up. I have to say Sarah, this was a wonderful video, not only was it a good overview, but your presentation style is so cosy and warm, its different to what I usually watch, but I'm for sure subscribing.

The new update broke my heart but it was so AWSOME. Can't wait to observe your journey :D
I hope you continue to play this game, it's so fun to watch your playthrough! 😀
This looks like it's combining the adventure rpg and cozy life sim genres in a way that I am definitely interested in.
I love this game been playing it for awhile, just a few things for you. Make a furnace, you need that to craft things like bricks and bars that you don't get for the recycler. Also you will find out that you will need to research new machines to get other items to craft. Hope this helps if you haven't already. Thanks for the great play through.
This game looks so fun, like there's so much to explore! I would spend so much time exploring and collecting all the things
What a sweet game! Thank you so much for sharing your gameplay with us. It was so entertaining!!
Aw! I'm so glad you enjoyed Thank you so much!
This looks so adorable, gives off dinkum vibes to me a little bit and like every game I will obsessively fixate on the npc’s and romancables 😂
Totally! Once the Rocket Rooster started attacking I was getting Dinkum flashbacks Romance is always a priority!!
This is the first time I've heard of this game and found out that this is actually a sequel. A shock for me, really.

thank you for showing me this game. started playing My time at Portia after watching this video. my favorite part was mini game, but the whole game looks great and super fun.
This game is very addictive, I have 450 hrs with three different game plays. You can chop down the deadwood trees ( a few around your shop ) and kick the cactus. Once you finish your crane lift you will have access to the mines and collect a lot of materials for building things.
The game looks amazing! Awesome video :) ❤
Thank you Jose! I had a lot of fun with it!!
thanks for the chance very exciting~ my fav feature are the relationships :3
Sandrock is another game I really love. I'm so glad to see you play it!
Aww!! Yay - welcome in!!
@sarahsunstone OMG, thanks for responding!!! I would love to see more of this game on the channel, maybe when it officially launches?
I love everything about this game but my favorite part would be how real it feels and I can get so immersed in it so quickly I haven't played it yet I'm waiting for it to come out on the switch I love that it's set in the desert because I'm from Arizona and I love the Sonoran Desert I always love watching others play My Time At Sandrock in one of your earlier videos I was actually going to suggest that you play My Time At Sandrock
This game looks amazing Sarah thank you for this video 😊
Thank you Danni!!
I love that you can actually have relationships with lots of NPCs in game.

I love this
I love the idea of be a builder in this game and the mechanics that go along with it. It makes this game so unique in this genre. I love MTAP and I can’t wait to play this game as well!
this game looks cool, love the animals and voice acting
I love building in this game. Hope I win the game
My Time At Portia is one of my all fav game. Been replaying it few times already.
this game doesnt look bad i really like the customization!
I think you would get into it
I think this game looks a little too complicated for me but I’d love to watch you play more it’s entertaining 😂💓
So if it's anything like portia age can range on 18 to however old you want lol.
Bit fuzzy on if that's true I just remember we were never known as being younger than that 🤔 we are just tiny apparently
Sandrock is a great game, Yan is a great character because I'm motivated to crush him every month
Everyone going turbo , no time to walk the floor's on fire!
What a beautiful game!! I love the setting, it's giving me post-apocalyptic vibes. And gosh, the women in this game...
I really like this game. I do think this is a bit better than Portia IMO. One of my criticisms is the map layout, even for Portia, I wasn't a fan of that layout as well. I think the decorations giving stats is a great idea. I hope you keep up with this game.
This game looks like it would be fun. It's really neat you can reply to letters.
My all time favourite game
This looks like fun. Glad you had a good time
Super hyped to get a chance when I can actually play this
Logan is a very popular character. :D You'll see why.
i played My Time at Portia early access and it felt really awkward to play (obviously a fair expectation out of an EA title) but it definitely kept my attention for a while, i stopped playing before it "launched", and then seeing them moving on to this was a little unfortunate that there wouldn't be anything more/dlc/etc, and i haven't been back to MTAP since before it launched even, but i'm glad they at least seemed to work on the flaws from that game into this one
honestly, it feels like my favorite feature, despite not even being "new" to this game, is just being voice acted, it's such an easy-to-miss-not-really-necessary-addition to games that really makes it feel... i dunno... comfy? i'd rather be told a story, i mean you get all bundled up to play a cozy game and it feels like someone's there guiding you, rather than just "here's your story, enjoy it on your own"
it's all this extra effort put into a game that feels very easy to get desensitized to if it's everywhere, but when you play games without it, it just kinda feels... empty? not like "awful", but it just feels like there's always "something missing" in a game that isn't voice acted, all these faces but no talking, like, i could just read a book by myself, and imagine the voices, or play a game with no talking and just reading and making up voices on my own in my head, or i could turn a game on and have someone there talking TO me, and it just feels like an extra bit of "oomph" added to the game, just by simply adding in more emotion and expressions rather than exclamation marks and multiple question marks over and over to exaggerate important feelings
I love the game so far! The thing I like the most is the recourses management in the game 😊
Did anyone else notice that the Character Customization theme is almost identical to the Overworld Theme from Final Fantasy 3?
Haven't played yet so I don't know my favorite thing but I am kinda loving the critters game
I just can't wait to play this on the switch
