My city uses it on buses for ticket/card validations. It keeps crashing, and that's how I found out it's Windows CE.

Apple DID NOT release a new MacBook Air. So only time will tell if the Air is permanently out, or if iMac's get odd numbered Apple Silicon and Air gets evens. LOL

Thats also why the Xcode simulator work so well, it just loads a couple of different libraries. it does not run in a VM at all

With 8GB of RAM and 256GB as a base, Apple can bugger off.
90% of people that buy it won't need more. Also try to find a Windows Laptop at 999$ with that build quality. Not even the most expensive ones offer that kind of well built hardware in all categories

@@Novskyy621 You say that but if the ones making the software can afford the ones with 32+ RAM just to play around, it's only a matter of time before that "you don't need it" runs out, plus even if you can keep up for a while with it by Virtual Memory, it is killing your SSD faster than necessary.
Also, by "well built" you mean Razer level of "it'll break the moment something takes as much as a look at it"? And top it off they charge you the device again to repair it? You'd be surprise the amount of punishment even cheap, plastic laptops can take in comparison.
Say that when someone like Louis Rossman can fully approve that "well built".
Finally, why do you care about what most people need? If they don't make demands that's alright, if you don't want anything else that's alright, just stay silent and let those with demands make them, if it can only benefit you, all you're doing by siding with the company is harming yourself and everyone else unnecesarily ala iDiot™.

I totally understand Apple's desire to attract gamers... and they, to some extent, will attract a few. For most of us though, it all boils down to money. Let's face it, those machines sell for far more than can be reasonably expected. So for me, no matter how amazing the M3 (and future generations) is, unless they're going to compete with PC on price, repairability, and performance, those sales will be hard to come by.
Also, a larger than normal number of pc gamers value the ability to upgrade their components

Yes it can’t be upgraded which sucks. But please go look at the price on their website before spewing low iq comments. The price of an M3 MacBook Pro is on par with an equally powerful ATX PC.
@@loganricherson3749Yup. I recently upgraded my boot drive from a 256GB WD Black bought in 2017 to a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB. The WD Black was $77 back then & this new drive was $65. Apple devices hold zero value to me personally. They're staunchly anti-repair, promote excessive e-waste, & cost way more than their features provide.
the g14 which is an excellent machine with a 4060 on sale for $1200 is still going to crush a $2k 14” mbp in any game

The thing about adblocking isn't that ads are annoying, it's that they can't be trusted. Malicious ads are a thing. Unless you can guarantee with 100% certainty that none of your ads hide malicious or faulty code (you can't), people are going to use adblockers.

You have to be visiting the most sketchy of sketchy sites, and clicking on the most virus like ads to actually get a virus from an ad. You don't need adblocker on CZcams tho, that's for sure, no matter how hard you try to justify adblockers.

Apple need to try harder than just gaining the gamers attention, they need to convice the game companies to make a port for Apple Computers.
They are but the angle is not "Make games for Mac" since the number of Macs sold is not high enough the angle is "Mac games for our platform" that includes modern iPhone and iPad and Mac.. then the numbers start to add up. It will all depend on how many people buy the up coming AAA titles (full price) on iPhone and iPad.. if people show they are willing to pay console prices then games companies would love that action but currently most people think for mobile to have any users you must be free to play.

They released game porting toolkit in wwdc2023. It will translate games in weeks instead of months or years. It will work like Rosetta 2

CORRECTION 1:25 : the m3 macbook pro has two thunderbolt 3 ports, not thunderbolt 4. only the m3 pro and max have TB4. apple was very sneaky about it on their website because they say "thunderbolt/usb 4"
Apple’s ability to impress and disappoint simultaneously is top notch. I love the idea of the efficiency and build quality but once I think about its lack of repair ability or upgrades, cost of mediocre level hardware while artificially holding feature behind a higher price(1 4k external display on the base when we know I can run more).

It is the same with iPhones TBH. Everyone is always claiming they get at least 5 years of software updates, but every time there is a new feature, that even the old iPhones can support, Apple usually doesn't make it available for them. For Apple features are not about whether the hardware supports them, they are about whether you are willing to give them more money to have it.
My biggest issue with ads on CZcams is their inconsistency and kind of unfairness. Honestly, TV ads are better than CZcams ones.
For me it’s the fact I get the same ad 1000 times for a product or service I will never use.

At my previous job, we used Symbol scanners that ran on Windows 7 CE until they were replaced with their newer Zebra versions that run on Android & VMWare
As much as I'd love to see Microsoft get some competition in the computer gaming space, I think Apple becoming a key player would be even worse for gaming. After all, what's a walled garden to Fort Knox?
The reason apple likes games for Mac is as a developer once you put in the effort to part to Mac your game already runs on iPad and iPhone and apple gets the 30% there that on PC your paying Vavle.

As a power user and gamer there's no way i'd ever switch to mac
It's a shame, because even the base M1 in the 2020 Air is a *beast.* But Apple's bass-ackwards approach to open standards makes it a pain in the toucans to develop for and to live with.

New Apple silicon seems great as usual but for the price it’s a hard sell… for me the only super attractive thing about their computers is the absurdly better battery life even under load compared to a windows laptop with a dGPU
People used to say Macs have amazing battery life even when they were using Intel chips. The M2 pro chips can easily pull 30W under load and that mini-led screen can pull 8W. If you take the 72Wh battery in the 14in, you can easily calculate that the battery will last you less than 2hours. Don't buy into the marketing that you will magically get 20 hours battery life and use your computer normally. I am not denying that Apple silicon is more efficient at the moment as Intel is still trying to set up its own EUV process node. They are pretty good at idle and have efficient video decoders so you can watch CZcams for a good amount of time with max screen brightness.
@@brandonchutt312 no doubt that under load it’s not going to last all day. I think for me the annoyance comes from when I’m not under heavy load, but rather just web browsing or doing very menial file management (things I can do on my phone too with minimal power draw), and even that still has it idling at like 20-30 watts. And this is after doing optimizations for battery life.

Speaking of which, I think Thunderbolt 4 mandates dual 4K monitor support, which is probably why it's this way, since Apple still stubbornly refuses to support dual monitor setups on base M3.
@@BrotherCheng This is probably likely, given that all of the Macs with vanilla M1 and M2 only had Thunderbolt 3 and only support one external display via Thunderbolt. Don't know if it'll support the rest of the Thunderbolt 4 spec.

Users don't like ads and use adblockers because they are being served ads that are not related to their interests, but rather based on their location and key words and phrases their device hears them or others around them say. They are also often served ads that are super sketchy, some random thing out of nowhere, or something they've repeatedly indicated they have no interest in. Perhaps our algorithm is bad and needs to be changed.

@@rebuiltHK47 A big factor all over the place is malvertising too. Platforms have a monetary incentive to let malicious scripts run on visitors, or even just a basic phishing ad.
If they want me to remove an ad-blocker, I ask them what they are actually doing to earn our trust. Be it privacy, respecting choices or way stricter visitor safety.

It would be so easy for CZcams to make a system that just tracks ad watch time and uses that to determine if you are blocking ads, id love to see how that Bill is worded though, because every website tracks software on your pc. Namely the web browser via user agent strings. But i love the concept of consent being brought into the mix. Can we have some actual consent before Microsoft decides to store their spyware apps on my pc? Or before they force an update? What about game consoles forcing system and app updates?
All I know is my desktop runs ublock origin, and I watch a lot on the official mobile app. Disgusting amount of ads. Never showed me the alert yet on desktop.

I block all ads on my network via pihole, but I just pay CZcams premium bc I genuinely think it's worth it, pays creators more than prerolls ever will, comes with good music. I get that not everybody has that luxury though. Like continue blocking ads as long as you can on CZcams, but ultimately it's a losing battle, and will probably become more or less impossible sooner or later, at least for this type of platform. I doubt static websites will ever be able to do anything, but honestly website ads are 10000x more annoying than CZcams ads. At least CZcams doesn't just auto redirect your browser a million times. Nasty stuff.

Most likely they already have tracking like that active without disclosure. They have a dashboard on Premium that gives an overview of some tracked statistics, including ad-free watch hours for Premium subscribers. They use them for awarding meaningless badges for reaching various milestones.

Correction: The base M3 MacBook Pro 14" does not have Thunderbolt 4 ports. The 2 USB ports are only Thunderbolt 3 (not that this difference matters for most use cases).
The reason these are not labeled as TB4 is that the device only supports 1 external display and TB4 requires the ability to drive 2 displays through the port using a hub.
