Still have my MT07 after 4 years. I love that bike 🏍.
What makes the MT07 so good is that a fender eliminator and slip on or full exhaust is all anyone would need to truly make the bike perfect. Next to the Grom, I've not found a more hooligan fun bike.

The stock suspension sucks
@@InsaneWEBER Ofc everyone screams the suspension is kinda bad. It's soft as it's meant to be a city commuting upright naked. Yes it does have a cost saving nature to it, but a soft suspension helps deal with crap bumpy city roads where there is seemingly always road work/construction. Dealing with that on a daily you'd not want a stiffer suspension that would send every bump straight through you. Still over all it's a great bike and it's reigned as the best overall middleweight naked for good reason.

Thanks for viewing! Both are great bikes but you'll enjoy a 600rr at the track much better than on the street. The supersports and superbikes generate a lot of heat. Also, cops love to tail supersports/superbikes, expect to get speeding tickets. lol You are better off with a MT-07 for city riding, very fun and comfy bike.
did you happen to see the video of guy with 2 tenere 700 with CP2 engine, 1 has 169,000miles, 1 has 174,000miles!!! frickin crazy relieable engines!
You just got to treat them right. They need to stay at about the middle of their rev range, ±1/3. Then all is kosher.
Many riders will give into the temotation to lug them though, and while the engine can handle that fine, the gearbox gets under-oiled. No es bueno!
Like most shared-oil designs, the oil pump for the gearbox is driven by the engine. This one however has been sized such that it does not deliver enough oil at/near engine idle. That's why if you stop in 1st or 2nd gear and sit for 10-30 seconds, it's almost impossible to get into neutral. If you give her a bit of a blip (up to 1200-1500 rpm for a few seconds), that gets the oil flowing again and you can get out of gear fine, but if you just sit there and try to muscle it, you're just as likely to bend a shift fork.
Normally this isn't a problem, as oil circilation is only inaufficient when the bike is at a standstill and therefore the gearbox isn't spinning, but if you don't let the engine rev in nirmal riding, it becomes a bit of a risk.
CP2 engine is bullet proof. It's a gem 💎 of a engine.
@@boris2997 I just wish the oil pump didn't underfeed the gearbox at hot idle. Makes getting into neutral a pain in the arse unless you do it right away.

@@boris2997 It's a training issue. Same as "false neutrals". I've heard lots of people complain about them on the CB650R, but I've never had the issue on mine.

Cyclecruza, been watching you as a subscriber for quite awhile. Mostly for your older duel-sport vids. You make it look so fun again. I went with a 321cc mt-03 back in 2020 just because it fit my needs better, but you made me double think it for sure. ( not enuff dirt when I mostly commute) Fast forward to two weeks ago when I was struggling between the mt-07 and mt-09/10. I'm short, like really short. 5'5 1/2. My mt-03 was perfect. The 09 I can put 3/4 of both feet on the ground. Not good, but better than the weight behind the 10 at the same height. I can't seem to back the 10 up at all. Lol. In conclusion I thought I wanted a 07, but fear of outgrowing another bike made my choice easy. MT-09
Nice video. I think my Chinese bike is similar. 800cc naked but it has really good brakes & adjustable suspension, cruise control. Bluetooth connectivity & TFT display. I like the looks of ALL the MT line. I actually want an MT 03 to zip around on. Do you think I’d be mad at the lack of power in the 321cc mt 03?

I came down from a 2008 R1 to my 2017 FZ-07. Paid $7,600 Canadian brand new before taxes. About $5,900 USD. Have the grey with yellow wheels. When I've taken it in for servicing, I still receive offers on occasion to buy it. I know what I got.
I just bought a duke 790 because it was on sale on sale . Very worth it and I couldn't find an my07 around my area worth buying ysed...but I love the 790 . Love your videos

Everything you said today was right on the money especially about the gas mileage on the bigger engines. If you work those little engines hard, they're going to go down in MPGs

got my 2022 near new with 347km for 10800 AUD. then installed full akrapovic carbon exhaust. its a dream. everything he said in this video is legit. Only complaint i can come up with is the brakes are trash. change the brake pads if you can afford. big big difference. the suspensions could be better and the seats if youre riding for more than an hour its gonna hurt

But I got one question, I don't know what to pick between a 2007 cbr600rr and a 2015 mt 07, I currently have a honda hornet and the wind is kinda annoying to me but I know I can get a winter jacket for it. Well, off that bat, the Akro exhaust isn't the only exhaust you don't need a tune for. The FZ-07/MT-07 ecu will detect and correct a 2% ratio in air/fuel ratio. You don't NEED a tune with any full system on that bike. But it's recommended for performance. Black Widow exhausts are very popular on that bike.
I will tell you is if i ever desire to get a naked bike the mt07 is at the top of my list... to me it is the best looking
I've had a few people come up to me admiring my mt-07. Looks are subjective but I always loved the look of the mt-07, to me it is better looking than the mt-09 and mt-10.

on the power commander.. you just delete or ''flash'' the ecu or do you have to tune it? i did that on my street triple and fueled the spark plugs everythime. i had to took it out

Hey cruza! Really been enjoying your videos. Started watching you about 3 months ago. This is actually my first comment on one of your videos. I wanted to ask a question that probably seems ridiculous… I am a new rider. I’ve only ridden 150 cc scooters and I got to borrow a buddies mt03 for a few hours one day. Really nice bike for someone of my experience level, however I really don’t want to invest in an mt03. I’d love to put my money towards an mt07. It’s my dream bike. My question is… can a new rider benefit from using an mt03 throttle tube on the mt07? Or is it best to stay with the mt07 throttle?
Sorry not Cruza, but I would say get the MT03, its the best for getting your skills up - MT07 + little skill = An F`ed up day! trust me, been there - speed is too addictive. You will want to change as well over time, so may different bikes out there - you really don`t know what you want till you do some real riding.
ECU flash is NOT NECESSARILY a warranty problem. Any dealership has to be able to prove that any modifications you've done have caused whatever issue you're in for.
With all the pro shops out there that have tuned the MT-07, it's just as easy to ship your ECU to the shop for a flash.
One of the biggest restrictions aside from the exhaust is the airbox. Hordpower offers a way to get about another 7-8 horsepower out of this machine.
If you wanted to change out bikes, probably the most natural step up would be the Suzuki GSX-8S/R.
i like my heated grips i use them the most in the summer when i get in some rain it can be cold rain where i live in the summer and then i have my summer gloves on so they dont keep my hands warm when raining
I had them on my cbr600rr, even did an install video way back. They are ok but like I said the back of my hand would get cold so I ended up just getting battery powered heated gloves which work better for me. Heated grips work better with bark busters.
Honestly, the cable throttle is this bike's biggest selling point. At least for me.

I live in Ohio too and was wondering if the Akropovic exhaust ever gets you in trouble? (Moved to the us a year ago so im still trynna figure out how the cops act)
Lacking a slipper clutch, getting it in the twisties, second gear is too low dropping from 3rd causing some major chatter at the rear. Going one tooth down in the front takes most of the edge off with no appreciable drop in torque or ability to wheelie

CycleCruza, you're always asking for questions, I've finally came up with one: Can Yamaha turn off my MT07 whenever they feel like it (if it gets stolen or whatever excuse) like KTM can turn off my duke? I don't want to buy a bike that someone/anyone can turn off with a press of a button.

I still need to check if my camera will record while charging. My bike has a usb. Of course cam is on chin. I would be tethered. Or use second cam pointed at me. Dont usually use. Should start. At least plug in phone have gps on. Dont do that unless going where have not. Not much time for long rides.

on my 2022 MT07 i did NOT want the tail tidy & i wanted to keep the stock pipes b/c i wanted it as quiet as possible b/c i bought the Cardo system for my helmet, mostly so i can listen to music as i ride.....& i do NOT want water/mud slung up on my 700.00 Shoei helmet or my 450.oo jacket.....i think EVERY MT07 should ASAP change out the front orange pumpkin blinkers for TST Angel eyes/halo.....i also changed day 1 to a 950.oo Corbin seat & sissy bar...
What about rust issues? Have you had any and how would you prevent that?

What kind of oil do you use
I put an M4 exhaust on mine and didn't have to tune it. As long as you're not tracking the bike you'll be fine without a tune.

i think a 4 cylinder 6600c is better then a mt 07 as a beginner bike the problem with the mt 07 is the instant power down low they can wiskey trottle it easy or even loop it if they hold on with there hands
You're right. You have to be progressive with it and most of all don't panic because the torque can and will surprise you

The MT07 makes more power (less torque though) and is significantly lighter and smaller than a Sportster 1200, so also more manoeuvrable
heated gloves are like using welding gloves ,lose feeling with levers

GSX-8R. Same style engine as the MT-07, just a good bit more power and poise.
I think on the mt-07 there isnt a way to just get a slip on and retain the factory header without cutting it and welding on the slip on
I don't know, probably. I just assumed you could put on a slip on like every other bike. The full akrapovic exhaust is 🔥 tho.

MT09 is not a true CP Triple, so, it's a misnomer to call it's engine a CP3 . . . similarly MV Agusta F3 is also not a Crossplane Triple, and Street-Triple too is not a Crossplane.
the only True Crossplane is Tiger 900 with a T-plane Crank (1-3-2 firing order) . . . but its sound is agricultural, not smooth as its predecessor (which was regular inline-3 having 1-2-3 firing order), & an after market exhaust could help in case of the new Tiger 900.
Therefore MT07 is the right choice over MT09 . . . & if one wants a bigger powerful engine, MT10 is the way to go... by skipping MT09 !
plus, cable throttle and no electronics makes MT07 the best 650 class bike in the market . . . i say this because I have Trident 660 with a Laggy Throttle Response

The new GSX- 8S looks to be cool but most of the new bikes have a ride by wire throttle which I'm not a big fan of. the MT-07 is still one of the few bikes with a good ol cable throttle and no electronics., just the way I like.
@@CycleCruza my 2023 GSX-R750 has no ride-by-wire throttle system, no traction control or ABS or whatever the young kids call it today lol....
it dont even come with a gas gauge, just a fuel light 150hp & 170mph stock
