It’s no secret that RLRM has a history of interviewing some of Country’s biggest stars, and this duo is no exception.
Johnny Lee is an American singer-songwriter with some incredible hits that have spanned generations, such as his 1980 hit single “Lookin for Love,” which spent three weeks at the #1 spot on Billboard’s Country Singles chart. Mickey Gilley, on the other hand, is an incredible artist himself. Gilley started out singing country and western music in the 1970s, before moving to a pop-focused sound in the 1980’s.
Gilley & Lee are lifetime friends, and were both featured in the 1980’s film “Urban Cowboy,” which drove their success to new heights. Together, the pair have 38 chart-topping singles, and 20 #1 hits, such as “Room Full of Roses” and “Don’t the Girls all Get Prettier at Closing Time” by Gilley, and “Cherokee Fiddle” by Lee.

Mickey Gilley had the best voice of any country singer in my opinion. RIP
Hate to see these treasures age but they remain genuine talent with REAL COUNTRY MUSIC God Bless them all. 🎵🎶🎼❤️🇺🇸
To the family of Mr. Mickey Gilley, I want you to know you had a "great star" in your family that will be missed. I feel like watching "Urban Cowboy" right now as we speak. God bless your family and the rest of all your loved ones as well. He'll never be forgotten.
Two of the best country singers in the business ! RIP Mickey !!! Lets bring back this kind of again !!
I agree with you
I'm just watching this for the first time. I'm surprised to see that my brother is playing the steel guitar. I never knew about this one. I'm enjoying the show so much it's nice to see my brother again. He passed away a year and a half ago. I'm soaking it all in! May Mickey Gilley and my brother JD Beckman rest in peace! I love you big brother!
❤❤❤❤❤
For Mr. Johnny Lee, I'll never forget my days as a young child singing "Looking For Love" everywhere I went. I even tried to sing it in a school competition, but just didn't have the singing voice back then I may have now. Your music made me partially into the man I am now. God bless!
You're a treasure Gilley.
Definitely the real meaning of country music ❤❤❤❤
A great entertainer. He loved his audiences and never, never failed to charm them. I will remember the two performances that I saw forever.

BIG THANK YOU for SHARING THIS SHOW VODEO !!!!
WE love it !!!!
How wonderful this was recorded! I was hoping to see Mickey perform again... didn't get the chance. His voice was still very strong! He was always very quick and personable. Always gave his best and always was kind to all his fans! Best honky tonk player....saw those fingers fly many times. We visited and he always remembered me when he saw me! Sang to me a couple times, what a thrill. I promoted shows in 70's and early 80's. What a nice human being....he will always be remembered in many ways, not only his talents of playing, singing, but also his kindness and good deeds! Mickey was a good business and promoter! Johnny seems very fragile tonight....sad...but he still put it out there. Saw several shows of these 2 good friends! Always entertaining and fun. One could see they enjoyed performing! God bless you both!
A true legend, your songs will always live on. RIP Mickey.
And at 85, you sounded as good as you ever did. Love you

Johnny lee wow super super talented voice
I knew Mickey since I was a kid. He wasn’t a music star to us. He was just the nice guy my grandfather knew. Gilley’s was just this place huge place my parents took us to shoot pool in the afternoons. It was only when I was a teenager and then Urban Cowboy hit that I knew him as famous. But even then he was the guy who used to come into the burger joint I worked at. He always had a smile and asked how the family was. I moved away after high school but my cousins still hung out with his grandkids. He was a class act. Now his old business partner was another story. Mickey will be missed by old school Pasadena.
Great Performance By Both Entertainers Thank you Loved It
One I f the greatest a true living legend don't forget Johnny
Hey Johnny Lee, love ya
I so love his music❤
I lived close to johnny....
This is awesome, ❤
Yes it is real country music 🎶🎵
What Great Video Thank you For Posting it. Much Love from Phoenix
Johnny can't hardly walk anymore- Parkinsons is definitely catching up to him. Mickey can sing as good as ever!! I was associated with Mickey when Urban Cowboy was hot. We had some good times after fhe shows and sometimes Johnny was there also. Got to know Mickey real good, but he is so easy to talk to and very personable . Real regular guy! Saw him perform a couple years ago, his voice is as good as in the 70's and he has been thru so much personal tragedies. What a guy!!
I was with his Fan Club and that is how I had an "in" to him . Sadly the Fan Club is no longer in running.
Great guitar air strumming
