Shame about the loop not reaching the OEM latch. I think I would've tried to make the loop longer but then again the two latches you installed will be safer I guess. Did you have to grind down the hinge bolt heads or was it just the bolts supplied were too long? I believe most CF parts that come from Japan need to have a UV clear coat added to protect them from the sun. Does this one have UV protection?

Yes, unfortunately the hinge bolts had to be cut down as well. The hood already has a UV coating on it thankfully, that would have added a lot more time to the install if I had to coat it as well! 👍

Hey there, at 15:10 i noticed that your red pins appear like they arent held up by one of the supplied hex nuts. How are you keeping the pin from falling out the bottom of the hole in the metal support without the nut as a stopper? I thought one nut was meant to go under the rubber tube below the metal support, and the other would go above the metal support to hold the pin in place

After thinking about it a bit more, are you using the washer as the stopper since it can't move past the flared end of the pin, and using the nuts on the bottom of the pin?if so, has this given you the expected security and reliability?
My reason for asking is that I'm using these same pins and I find that if I use the nut above the support, the pins are too high to close the hood even at its lowest. Since the catch is flush with the hood, I'm worried that if I cut the hood, the catch won't be able to latch due to the extra length

Yes. The flat head part of the pin is actually wider than the threaded body of the fastener. I just went to a hardware store and got a washer that would slide over the threaded part but wedge into the flat part (which is wider) i found i needed to do this so i could mount the pin as low as possible.

I have had it this way for quite a while, drove the car a lot, i have no concerns about the pins failing this way. I ran into the same issue, i needed the pins as low as possible. This was the solution.
