And I just said the same as Adi, word for word, on one of the VA sections in Triglavski park. The views are great but I can't enjoy them because I'm focusing on where I put my feet (that section was 5 km of pretty much non-stop rock scrambling/climbing). Great to hear the sentiment is shared!
We hiked the Fenetre d'Arpette variante, in 2012: Comparing your video to my photos, that glacier (Glacier du Trient) has since lost a LARGE volume of (serac) stagnant ice from its lower portion ! Sad, but not surprising. While AM hiking up the opposite valley (from Champex), we kept hearing what sounded like a heavy truck crawling along a gravel road: It was frequent Rock Slides along the talus slope on the south side of the valley. At the trail-side Buvette (cafe), which you passed on your way up the valley from Trient, there was a large poster-boarded photo on display: Of a picnic-table-sized rock slab that had come off the side of the valley (late one night), and crashed through the buvette roof like a spear point, to be discovered the next morning !
Stunning visuals as usual 👍👍 U guys should have taken the usual, standard Alpine Bovine route with beautiful pics 📸 of the Rhone Valley...This tough Fenetree D Arpette route from Trient to Champex is extremely strenuous, hard, taxing for the body...Anyways do complete ur Tour Du Mont Blanc journey from Courmayeur to Chamonix this year...Better luck next time guys...Have a Rollicking day ahead...TC Adi n Mira 🙂
Great video! I skipped the variant because of this and especially because it was raining a bit. Didnt want to slide of those rocks. Also thanks for the honest video last year, it made me think about taking which gear twice and made my pack as light as possible.
That is a very good call because along with the sliding rocks, there is literally no shelter on that route. haha no worries, we are so glad that so many people got to learn from our mistake.
Love this, especially with the UTMB races soon! BTW, you can buy water filters so when getting water from an untrusted source you don't have to worry. All hiking/camping stores and of course online sell them. Oh, and "my undies are on the ground". Classic.
Really love your videos and thank you for sharing the whole route with detailed explanations about everything! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trek (: I hiked for a week in Switzerland in July and drank the water from the mountains with a filter bottle every day, never got sick! So that is a really good investment I think. And the water is really cold so that is also nice :) Also, how much km did the alternative route turn out to be?
I did the fenetre d arpette variant anti-clockwise and must say that yes it’s still tricky but way better than when you have to do it clockwise, so maybe to keep that in mind if you wanna do the variant and have to choose a direction
U guys are lucky to have some1 with same Interest.. I wu'd do all this hikes but i wu'd be Scared doing it alone just Emagine i lost my Way going to nxt distanation and i just Die somewhere on Top of the Mountain 😅.. Switzerland is so expensive though i am Planning going back there but this time i will do it like you Sleepng on the Camping place .. By the way i was on that Camping Place in Lauterbrunnen i was Amazed when i saw it some People just beought thier Tents but, u have to being a very Warm Blanket because it gets realy Vold at Night in the Place Sorrounded with Mountains in Switzerland ..
Well I am surprised you have a water issue on treks. I suggest you get a LifeStraw 1Ltr bottle and then whatever source you want you can refill without the worry that the water is in any way contaminated.
Hi guys. I’ve been enjoying your videos but cannot seem to find any after Cormayeur, let me know if these are labelled differently. Also interested to know what watch you were tracking with. Cheers G
Beautiful hike! The French and Swiss Alps are so impressive! Great share!

Great video guys, ❤ it. For water just get something light like a sawyer filter or maybe a lifestraw, works great on the trail!
Thank you Sonya.. 😃

Yes, that is very true!
Plus, there is that little buvette/cafe farther down the valley, toward Trient, after the hardest part of the hike.
You have these water bottles with a filter on it (cheap at decathlon). So you can use the water you find on your track, but drink it safe👍
Thanks for the recommendation Nienke, yes we will do it next time
Hallo guys,,,that's really peacefull place,,,
i have a question,,is that possible to Wild Camping over the Trek..?
Thank you

Yep it was an everyday issue.. started looking into that, will get it for our next long distance hike!

Hey Graham, we will be uploading the video this thursday.

"we didnt film that much, busy surviving the trek" hahah
haha literally :D
😍😍😘😘
Which watches do you guys wear?
We both have Garmin. Great watch! 😄
@@LetsMeetAbroad Gotta say you both guys are perfect together! Lots of love…thanks for replying😍
What did you guys do to transfer your money to Swiss Francs?
We did not :) You can pay in Euro everywhere. The only place they charged us a bit more for the conversion was in Relais d'Arpette.
Gotcha. We're from US so we're using USD obviously. I can't find much info on transferring. Thank you though!
@@fair2partlycloudly When we did the TMB in July, Euros were welcomed in all the Swiss establishments we visited.
☀Thanks for watching! Want to watch our previous TMB adventures? Start at day 1! czcams.com/video/SmlEE1TveSI/video.html
I loved the video, but too much commentary for my taste.
Thanks,, haha yeah sometimes :P
