      It will be nice in unknown areas or where i know there is bear activity. Plus some of my students may feel safer when the coyote packs are close. :)

    i wonder how well its insulated from rain and snow? a good alternative is to use the cheap harbor freight driveway alarms, 18-20 bucks gives you a decent laser tripwire that you can set up a lot of different ways, it wouldnt be hard to set them up, then have the receivers in your tent and if anything trips the alarm you have a bit of heads up, great for car camping as well, to make sure no one messes with your vehicle

    • @kullcraven
      @kullcraven  Před rokem

      These are used by alot of researchers in very high density of bears to keep them safe. This can keep them out not just alert you that have already came into camp. I have some trip alarms for alerting, this i love since i know they are not coming in most likely. :)

    I read the instructions are waterproof paper. The costs for a large fence upgrade is minimal. I’m going to get me this system. My plan is to spray and knife fight a bear but I’d also rather not have to fight.

    • @kullcraven
      @kullcraven  Před rokem

      The fence is a far better plan, i was going to spray and axe fight a bear once, Thanks God it didnt come to that lol. Let me know if you get one. I am liking this security, specially for my students.

    Im a crazy heavy sleeper, as in dead to the world when my eyes are closed. For this reason i dont go camping alone anymore. I have woken up to coyote and fox rummaging through my gear INSIDE my tent and had no idea they were there. Ripped right through the mesh screen (door fly open for ventilation). Luckily those two animals frighten easy and prefer to run away. With a device like this i could go camping again and not have to worry about waking up in a bears jaws or having my face nibbled off by some furry creature.
    Luckily i keep my gear at the foot of the tent, a yell and a kick sent them packing on two separate occasions. I dont keep my food inside anymore either.

    • @kullcraven
      @kullcraven  Před 7 měsíci

      I have woke to a coyote at my feet while sleeping in a open lean to shelter i made. It ran as well, but if there is more than ne or they may not run. Good idea to not go camping alone, these are wild animals and we are fresh meat to some. Stay safe and thanks for sharing your story with me. :)

      @@kullcraven coyotes usually do not attack people, they are just curious - i have been cycling the world since 2011, spending over 3000 nights in a tent, and many times I had coyotes around - but it was always enough to blow the airhorn and they would run away.

    • @kullcraven
      @kullcraven  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yes your correct and i have also spends thousands of nights in the forest, in Coyote areas. Normally they wont bother you, but Every animal is different , to the area and habitat they live within. Here they have attacked humans and not too long ago killed a hiker. You must take percautions with all wild animals, because they all can attack, tho most dont, BUT some can. :)@@Biciklom_oko_sveta

      @@kullcraven totaly agree and i am always very carefull and respect all rules about staying safe. Your two comments made me laugh, i just imagine such a situation to wake up with wild animals in my tent 😂 (what is not really funny when that happen but afterward, if you survived, you can make a joke). I am sorry for that hiker, did not know that. But onced in Peruvian Andes, where i was hiking, I was attacked by crqzy bull, he literary followed me for 5 miles and i spent a night sitting on the high rock i climbed.

      Thjese are used by many folks to keep their camps secure in heavy bear counrty. The perimiter alarms are good for alerting but with this i can sleep and not worry if one does come around. Usually they get zapped once and leave , tho never a garuantee. lol Thanks for the watch.
