  • In our latest film, Chief Executive & Exhibition Curator, Dr Susan Kay-Williams, shares a collection of wonderful photographs from Lady Alice Montagu-Douglas-Scott’s Trousseau which was created for her by the RSN in the 1930s.
In the 1930s, our celebrated Lingerie Department was well-known for creating bridal Trousseau which is a collection of possessions, such as clothing, that a bride assembles to prepare for her wedding day and for marriage. Lady Alice bought a wide variety of items for her wedding to the Duke of Gloucester including nighties, house coats and domestic pieces such as hot water bottle covers and throws.
