would have liked to have seen more detail on the preloading of the end case bearings, that was the main part i was interested in
I reckon you mockup assemble the cases fully torqued reach through the diff window with nothing but 1 shaft and it's bearings, shim that shaft, remove it then install next shaft and shim that, all through the diff window. Worst case I set wheel bearings by feel, but would obviously prefer to use a dial indicator somehow.
I think youre looking for 0 lash with new bearings and once they wear in itll be about 2 or 3 thousands

When I start the engine and start driving my ASTRA MK5 1.9, when I go into second gear i get two ticking noises. This happens only one time and next time it happens only after fully turning car off and starting again. Is this DMF?
I have a m32 gearbox io insignia and theres a hole in the gearbox that lead to oil leak. So if I change the gearbox do I have to change clutch and fly wheel?
Mine pops out of 4th gear if you dont rev match and at idle in neutral you can hear marbles rolling around in the box, when you press the clutch it stops
great vid guys, wish i brought mine to you 6 month ago, had a guy do mine in mk, was 6th gear bearings completely gone. fitted recon box and now whining 4th,5th,6th 6 months later. whats likely hood i might get lucky with dropping the oil for some titan sintofluid and a drop of moli slip?
Sounds like possible dodgy repair! We see a lot of these. And regarding the whine, highly unlikely to fix anything!
Do you need to change the entire gearbox to do the Gen 2 upgrade or is it just the endcase with new bearings?

Hello ! That`s some professional gearbox build :D ! I would have a question, I`m not from the UK can`t really take my gearbox there, I had my gearbox rebuilt in 2018 and it is rattling again ( just like in 2018 when all of the bearing were worn out, both sides and every one ) how can I get my hand on a gen 2 gearbox casing ?
We can supply new casings if required! Just the shimming we would have to leave to yourself.

So the price to do a full strip down, visual inspection and bearing replacement on a loose supplied gearbox is the same as a drive in drive out bearing replacement leaving gearbox in the car?

Offical data is 2.2L on change and 2.4L on Dry fill - We used 2.5 Liters, and 3L with a breather

So does the gen 2 casing come on any of the later gearboxes
The Gen2 gearbox / case was fitted to cars from around 2012.
Do diffs need shims when being changed?
Yes 100%, we have a way of checking without the gearbox being removed - but should always be checked and adjusted if need be!
MIne seems to be good atm, the car has 175k KMs. I hope it does not give me problems, i dont drive much, barelly 3k km per year.
All my gears are fine a slight wine and twitch in 5th, but i have a grinding/scrapping sound in 2nd-6th, mainly 2nd as thats quite loud, no idea if its the box or a clutch bearing. It stops when clutch is pressed. In neutral and clutch out theres a slight scrapping sound. Anyone else experienced that? Its mainly on decelleration too
Any news? I have a similar problem after changing the clutch set . After the second new dmf the sound is still there so I don‘t know if is the gearbox or i am so unlucky with the dmf.

Being in the US nobody is repairing these transmission. I'm on my second used one and the bearings are bad after 35k. I'm willing to buy the tool to properly shim it but can't find info on the specs. Any way you guys could drop it in a comment or send an email?

Люди добрые,спасайте.Вытекло масло из кпп м32 OPEL ASTRA J 1.7 CDTI.Проехал еще 50 км.Разобрал кпп...от работы насухо расплавилась обойма игольчатого подшипника вторичного вала.Предположительно его размер 29*34*20.Никак и нигде не получается его найти.Буду рад любой посказке.

It's a shame the M32 is so weak. I had to have it repaired and 4th gear already has issues again.
They aren't that bad - either having repeat issues from not replacing all the parts, or the way gear changes are carried out
@@WGMotorworksCZcams I drive on track. For sure wear is higher. But it still has more issues than an F23 or F28. I might get in touch with you when I intend to drive on track again.
@@flavioxy Are you replacing the Gears hubs and synchros? But your correct these gearboxes do not like fast changes! But could also be oil temps for synchros? Or even just the oil using
@@WGMotorworksCZcams The bearings were replaced last time. Cooling should be alright. This time the gear shift moves when I accelerate in 4th.
@@flavioxy My Atra j 1.4 Turbo is at 240k kilometers right now, used it 2 years without any problems. Its chipped to 170hp/270nm, shouldnt be an issuee i think?
