Muscovy ducks are the only duck breed that doesn't descend from the wild mallard duck. They originate from south america. And do hiss instead of quack. great ducks to have

He goes to work every day to make the money to pay for our beautiful home, while I stay home with the kids and putter at our dream and our retirement home. TEAMWORK is a beautiful thing. he also spends hours documenting our children's childhoods while I take no pics at all and live in the moment. Teamwork is a beautiful thing. Not to mention I LOVE THE WORK, Living the dream.
Tara here - Thank You, I am very proud of what we have created, Mark is the brain I am the workhorse, The animals are a huge part of who i am and they deserve the best, so I work hard to give them the best I can and I have a new idea every week. So I just get er done.

I will continue to pray for Shelton. He is on my prayer list. But in all honesty I know he will do great because he is in your care and all of God's creatures are in good care when they are in the 10 acre woods. You guys are a God sent to these beautiful animals. I don't mean to force my religouse views on anyone here and most of on the 10 acre woods, but its a beautiful thing to see people care for God's creatures. I just am so proud of the work you guys are doing with them. Thank you so much for doing what some of us wish we could but cannot.

I am amazed by your farm! You two are such hard workers! It's so unique how you keep a mixture of goats, sheep, turkeys, and ducks together. So fun to hear them all make noise at the same time, but I wonder how they get along. Also, I'm confused about why you keep your chickens indoors?
Hi Natasha, Thank you. This is Tara, it was always my dream to have them all live together and coexist, which they do. The key is Space and entertainment. Lots of space and things for them to do, if someone wants to be off by themselves they can, safe place to just be themselves. We keep the Chickens indoors in the winter because of our Temp fluctuations in winter. Best way to get sick is to get chilled and then the humidity and freezing all in a day(ie. we can go from -31C to +4C in 24 hours). We find they are healthier if temp is steady, we do have plans however on a much bigger space that will utilize their outdoor space as well in the winter. The barn is just above freezing. Always growing to accommodate.
Thank you so much for your reply! That is some harsh winter weather, brr! I bet keeping chikens warm helps with egg laying as well. :) We have 5 chikens, and they often prefer to roost outside for overnight, even in freezing temperatures. The Ameraucanas did tend to catch cold, so we prefer to have them sleep in the insulated coop. But we started putting a few drops of VetRx into their water and it treated their sneezing and coughing quickly. God bless!

Our rabbits eat mostly good dry hay, it's cheap, fits their diet and you don't have to give loads of feed. They each get only a handful of pellets every day 😊
Ours have as well and we go thru very little feed, finding they also prefer barley to there pellets

Hi guys , I have just came a cross your vlog and after I finished watching it left me smiling , for as long as I can remember this has been a long time passion of mine . Animals are my life and I have learnt through working at dog homes and as a partner in my sisters dog rescue how hard it can be at times sometimes you question if your doing the right thing and then comes along another beautiful soul who needs your help and immediately you know that as long as there are creatures out there who need your help and who don't have a voice if you give up who is going to help and speak for them .
I just want to thank you for sharing your vlogs and say that you truly are wonderful people and I wish you all the best and hope to watch many more of your vlogs .

@@bilalyague Most have come as adults and with issues, it is about trust and respect. WATCH, WAIT and WONDER, works on humans and animals. give the animal the choice to trust you! Time, took me 3 years to be able to pet Blackie.

The bunnies need a little house in their enclosure to provide shelter. They feel vulnerable without one, as you can tell by them crouching in the corner
You are correct, they usually do have a couple little houses in the nursery but they must have been moved for cleaning and not put back in time for this video.

Hi guys , I noticed that you had to cart water down to your horses and I may have an idea that will save you having to carry around heavy buckets . I set up a water tank to catch rain water you can buy the tanks and tanks and piping cheaply enough and if you are handy or have a friend whose handy you can rig some guttering around the shed and down into the tank . It may take a few good showers before you can start using the water but in the long run your back will thank you . Cheers from Australia 😊
That is a great idea, unfortunately we are in a drought and haven't had rain since October (and very little snow) . We are planning on moving the ponies to an area with automatic waterers in another week or so. Thanks for the suggestion, always appreciated 👍

I know how frustrating it can be when it only rains enough to wash the top soil away and it makes a mess , it is really hard being on the land in drought times and I can empathize with you guys . You are so good to all the many, many little animals on your farm. This is the first time I have watched your vlog and it seems like some of the kiddo's are rescues? The tiny little goat you are bottle feeding is adorable! I am cursed with living in suburbia and I have lived out in the country several times even working on a cattle ranch in Cameron, MT. That was a year of my life I will never forget, I loved it! So I live the life I would like to be living through homesteading vlogs and farms like yours. Which I have to say is the best yet! You put everything into feeding and raising animals, I hate to call them that because they seem more like family. And I would love to take a rabbit off your hands. I have a miniature poodle, she's also hypoallergenic but has Cushing's disease and she's 14 yo now. I want to see more of your videos, your love for your family shows! God bless and take care!
Thank you Linda. Yes, they are like family. Currently, Lucy is the only goat rescue we have, it was actually her mother that was rescued when she was pregnant. Most all of the other large animals (and many small) are indeed rescues. I have quite a few subscribers that live the farm life through my vlogs😁. Thanks for watching and subscribing! 😊

I'm gonna go back and watch more videos, but at first glance, I wonder how you could ever give all those animals the attention they need!?! Thanks Cindy, my wife manages the animals and my job supports the household. She is alway outside in the yard when we aren't open to the public. We have regular volunteers that come out and help when they can, so they get quite a bit of attention 😊. The animals that in in the barn have a door to a section outside so they can come and go as they please. I have made playlists of the videos for each year so you can see how our story unfolds.
