As a note, the AFK timer has been a thing every expansion launch since Stormblood at least. The issue has been people do things that let them bypass that timer (which causes the queues that they're trying to avoid. If people just logged out when AFK, the queues would only be around 1-2k most likley)
It would not be 1-2k. Maybe with this expansion now that hype around the game is dying after the ascian saga being over. There was nothing worse than sitting in cue having to tab back to the fucking login screen every ten mins just to get kicked and lose your place. 100 percent would stay logged in on hud settings again
@@ethanwalker955 And as they proved back in Storm blood when they had to start doing rolling server restarts everyday, people who do that are actually WHY the queues are so big. Before rolling restarts, 10-30k queues. THE DAY ROLLING RESTARTS BEGAN, the queues never went above 1200, and were frequently only around 300 on Balmung, the server that was traditionally the Permanently congested server for all of HW and even through Stormblood.
I wasn't there for Stormblood, but I remember for EW that once they added the 30-minute timer and prevented people from staying logged in with menus, the queues improved immediately.
@@Zivalene Indeed, they did improve. BUT... unless they've fix some things there are unfortunately known ways to bypass that logout timer because of how it works.. And that was also one of the things that exasperated the issue. HOPEFULLY just starting with the timer helps to kick out those who don't know the tricks, but also I REALLY WISH those who know the tricks realize if they just also logged out the queues would not be there (basically the "I'm doing X because I want to avoid Y without realizing that doing X either causes or at least exasperates Y" scenario)
@@LiminalityCarb or they can invest into renting servers so that their capacity isn't capped. God knows they make enough money of the mogstation, they could fund that off of fantasia sales alone.

It is pretty overwhelming when you first get into it, but keep at it! It takes time, but it's a worthwhile journey in the end!

Plug-ins are bannable, depending on the severity you can lose your entire account.
Me on endwalker 4am 10k . My shit internet fked up then 12k 😭😭😭 don’t thik I got in till like 3-6 pm on average sucked . So I said ima just preorder and not play the game for a month
Pro tip: in my experience, just make sure you sleep well because staying up for launch will also have you staying up for even longer, and the queue isn't going away. I'm gonna be sleeping, wake up in the morning after the expansion's been out a few hours, and then join in well rested. Health first!

It hasn't been bad during early release. The longest queue I had was 347 in queue. Luckily, I beat the expansion last night before the full release, so if i dont get in, it's fine.
I remember logging in easier during stormblood but dealing with duty instances having weird wait times (like Reubahn ex) then during Endwalker it took hours to log into the game lmao anything could happen this EXP but i hope the best for us all
Definitely new to an expansion release. Jumped onto the game some time after Endwalker.

Honestly, i think there is no issue there, and Yoshida and his teams are handling it very well.
And i say this from the perspective of a returning player later on too. When i come back to play the game again, i have a lot to catch up, like quite a bit. I havent even fought Golbez yet, and people that have been playing all this time, and have been waiting for this, deserve to dive in the new expansion first.

Pre ordered just to play it a month later I’m not dealing with the damn queues of endwalker again. My internet hick ups so many times to get my hopes up 💀💀
There is no queue. It's basically like any normal day.
Databases were expanded and i havent seen my queue for login higher than 45.
Highest queue I had was 2.7k, but that was first hour of the expansion. They did a really good job with this one!
I am about to finish 6.5 and for the first time (however briefly) I will be caught up on the story!

The ones players place over themselves to guide new players?
@Zivalene nono, the ones where you have to group up, but it's not the typical stack markers. The little red triangles. They're usually paired with fear effects. A good recent example is the first boss of The Dead Ends, where the boss says "I don't want to die alone" and if you aren't stacked with at least one other player, you'll be hit with fear and most likely hit by the follow up AoE he performs.

@Zivalene unless they changed it, in The World of Darkness, the cerberus boss has a craven mechanic, but it's signified by white circles instead of red triangles, but it's resolved in the same way. I just remembered that. Lol

@@john_7000 Because, they already released their plans on how to avoid the wait times. News flash, it's their usual tactics. So as usual expect delays. About the only thing they actually improved on was the ability to travel between data centers so hopefully that will relieve some congestion. But not really. They're still heavily selling that kicking afk players and trial players is going to fix it and it simply won't work. I'm not going to tell you why... but trust me, there are work arounds to afking if you want to and people will do it to dodge the wait times which incidentally causes more wait times.
